- The Arrma Mojave 6s has always been on my wish list but when I saw this NEW and highly improved Arrma Mojave 4x4 BLX 4s RTR I could not pass up the chance to check this WICKED rig out for myself.
Thanks to my Dad (my personal pay later program)🤣 and the WONDERFUL and always innovative crew at Arrma I can bring you guys another awesome RC car review!

All of my DIY carbon, aluminium or polycarbonate parts are cut with a jigsaw and drilled with a hand drill.
Most of my materials like Carbon Fibre, Aluminium, polycarbonate and hardware like screws, bolts and nuts are purchased from Ebay Australia but most of what I use is easily found just by Google searching the material or hardware you require.

Bluewolf RC sent me this video as I'm saving for one haha I'm definitely sold after this video and the 18 minutes went fast because it was quality content both 3s and 4s badges looked great, but of a shame about the steering mechanism but on my senton I just put some gaffa tape over the hole underneath and it reduced it massively 😀👍 great video bro liked and subbed

Yeah its a awesome car pretty much all round, I don't really mind getting stuff stuck in the steering as long as I realise and stop the car before hitting something😆

You had a blast with that new Mojave mate, yes that is a problem that Arrma needs to look into & address re the locating pins getting wedged into the chassis. Earl Moorhead highlighted this problem in his video yesterday, he was running on loose sand & simply could not remove the body due to the pins well & truly jammed in with sand in the holes. He couldn't even turn the car off due to the inner body not giving access to getting your hand inside the car. This is a big problem if the electrics catch fire & you cant get the body off, cant believe Arrma missed this one when testing/developing this car. After all it is a dessert truck intended to run in dirt/sand, Earl had to use a 3 pound hammer & a punch to drive the pins out from under the chassis once he got home into the workshop. So he was also driving home with a live Rc in the back of his car. He's pretty pi$$ed at Arrma to say the least, Stay safe mate

Yeah the locating pin issue would frustrating if it gets stuck like that every time😬
I think maybe just a o-ring on the pins before installing it on the chassis may help keep the dirt out, it could also be the dirt/sand coming up from underneath the chassis getting stuck.
Drilling the 4 holes out a tiny bit may help, a tiny gap so the stones drop straight through but also easily get any stuck stuff out👌

That suspension is amazing, and full center diff should help ease needless strain to the other diffs and motor! Nothing but awesomeness! This thing is so realistic driving, it’s amazing!

The plushness of the shocks, tough upgraded drivetrain, insanely tough design in general and most importantly SUPER realistic on film😆

Man that thing is a beast! That center diff definitely helps it handle better. It grips nicely as well! The only issue that I'll be seeing a lot is the body posts or pins being wedged or jammed in with dirt and sand. Earl Moorhead mentioned this in his video yesterday and he was irritated because what if the electronics caught on fire? Thankfully it didn't. Hopefully it just wears out when you bash, run it more, and it gets easier to remove. Stay safe though mate, great video! 👍
Yeah I actually just then run a 8mm drill bit through the 4 post hole on the chassis and it seems to slip into place very easily now, should make things easier taking it off after a bash aswell hopefully🤞
The internal body definitely traps stuff in the chassis but is it more than if it was removed?
May have to test that😅

Awesome vid, nice to see a 3s run. looks like it does pretty well with it 👍 4s is going to he where its at but for guys stepping up from 10th short course who have 3s packs already.

And yes you are 100% correct, this would make a awesome upgrade for anyone who just wants a bigger SC/Desert Truck and have only had 1/10 or smaller👌

Good video. Nice looking truck. I can't say that I understand the reason for the dual battery plug setup. I guess you could get higher amperage with two 2S batteries.

I'll be cutting the IC5s off and installing my 5.5mm gold connectors for the next bash so I don't need dual connectors even with 2 x 2s, I like simple and neat wire management😅

I have never had or used a Senton but I would imagine this being heavier and bigger it would be more stable and I can tell you, it's stable for such a narrow truck🤯

Hello mate , I bought a corally shogun with a Torax esc , I ran 2 batteries through it 1 at footy oval and 1 at Bmx track , Esc stopped working at Bmx track, brought it back to shop , they said escwas full of rocks and burnt out , it was replaced with a higher speed fan , and said it should be good, now I’m scared to drive it as stones might get in again , only 20 minutes use and it broke, I’m a noob and trying to learn everything, I ha ve a vrx cobra and so far it drives everywhere no problem, do I make the shogun a grass and concrete Queen? Any info on the Torax esc fan n stones getting in , would be helpful

If you mean just the fan was burn out then no don't be worried about driving it on dirt or anywhere really, the esc did what it was supposed to by the sound of it and went into overheat protection👌
Fan is 100% replaceable for little $$ as you already found out, trust me you'll break more fans but it's not a huge deal😉

I mean seriously, all RCs have something someone won't like but that's half the fun, modding and swapping stuff to make it your own.
You don't like shock spacers, use longer springs, it's the same thing.
And honestly this car has PLENTY of traction, don't understand how you come to the "no traction" conclusions.
I haven't even purchased my first rc car yet because there are seemingly so many good options, but this one looks like it might be the most fun. I just want something that rips through the backyard, but can also handle the neighborhood streets. This looks awesome.. but I would appreciate any suggestions.
I think this would be a perfect option for your desired use, with a set of 1/8 street wheels these things are insane🤯
But yes as you can see it can take plenty of off-road abuse and is plenty fast for any situation in my opinion.
It may be a little big for your yard depending on the yard size, check out the Arrma Senton 3s if you think 1/10 would be better for you, basically a smaller version of this Mojave👌
And certainly think about the 6s version as you can run it on 4s and be plenty happy with the headroom for growth and a much better after market support. Really a simple decision.
After that, the best deal for 2024 is the Kraton 6s v5 at $549!
-though the k6s shouldn't be your first rc.
I bought the 4S Mojave but haven't run it yet. As of now, my favorite RC-by far-is the 6S Mojave. Im hoping to test its little brother out soon.

I ❤my all metal/carbon mojave6s on a m2c chassis, nothing I have can compare to its speed and durability.

@surfside75 OH, 😆. I love it, man. The 6S to me is still the out the box RC king, but the 4S is pretty great too. I'm not sure what I want to use for upgrades yet, though. I can say that it is good enough out the box that, unlike most RCs, that I'm not in a real rush to upgrade it.

I would love my Granite so much more if it had a center diff instead of that stupid, hard to tune, finnicky slipper clutch.
You can do a mod to the older chassis I believe so that the centre diff module fits, not sure if it would be worth doing though, I thought about doing my Krayon(Typhon mega hybrid) but since I got the upgraded slipper and M2C motor mount and block I've not had and issues with it.

Great video mate looks absolutely fantastic. And that car is so well balanced on your jumps and on cornering it just grips so well and so much better on 4s. Like you said 80 km is more than enough..

Yeah honestly as I said in the video, it's one of the BEST RC's I've personally tested strength wise and serious fun factor!

But still, get a super baja rey. Its the king of scale desert trucks, Or the DBXLE. Well, I guess this isnt a scale truck . Nvm. Different class i guess.
Have you had any issues with the mojave except the body getting stuck ?
Only really debris getting stuck in the steering.
In general this and the Kraton 4s are wicked cars!

I'm sure you wouldn't regret getting one and if you don't really drive on bark or wood chips like myself most of the time I think you'd get less lock-ups with the steering👌
@@rccrazy nah I'm on a big farm of about 500 acres so I usually in short grass or dirt mostly all ways jumping my team associated pro4 sc10 and It loves my mate is getting a losi baja rey and I wanted something bit bigger so I settled on the monjave can't wait till I have enough money lol

Yeah I couldn't imagine the skatepark or bmx track really being good spots for this car, definitely a low and fast area is ideal.

If you use the opposite hand for the transmitter, is there then still room to use the gas and controls at the same time? Some transmitters allow this, but some there steering wheel is to close to fingers, so they would be unusable for me. Cheers
Sorry mate I'm not sure what you mean when saying the opposite hand.
Holding the controller in the left hand I can operate both throttle and steering at the same time but it don't see it being possible with right hand, not these controllers.
would this be a good buy for someone like me who is getting into RC? I've been getting into desert racing in general and saw the Traxxas UDR a few months back. Everyone has said that isn't a good starter truck. Please let me know!
I can not give any opinion on the UDR as I've never seen one in real life.
This Mojave is a great car for a small jumps flat ground basher, it is tough👌

Yes the shocks are so nicely set-up as it is out of the box, nothing new from Arrma though, always exceptional quality in my opinion👌
This is definitely a great car. But i still have my own opinion. Slash is king as far as I'm concerned
I base my opinions on overall performance, price and strength so technically spec facts, sorry to say but the Mojave wins in all 3 categories, not an opinion just facts.

I have a slash ultimate. I respect your opinion but the mojave I had i did not like at all
@robertmappus5668 completely different to the 6s as I did state in all my 4s Mojave videos I think.
But yes I understand, I also like my 2 Slash clones(Remo hobby, literally a slash) more than the 6s Mojave, one being 4s and AMAZING.
I still much prefer the 4s Mojave as I got so much more strength, capability and power for a lower price.
Why I never bought an actual Slash at over $1000aud when the Remo copy is less than $400aud🤔

The best RTR Desert Truck is an Hobao 8SC in my opinion, the Arrma Mojave 4S is kind of nice but overpriced.
Yeah I never owned a Hobao so I can't give an opinion on that one.

Losi! 🙂 All of these cars are awesome. The Asuga is great. DBXLE and super Baja are sweet machines. My XRT with 1100 is insane. Those are the three I grab first before the UDR. The little black rhino is fun. There's something about these Baja trucks. They are rockets. Like point and shoot. I guess it's that they are narrow, fast and good suspension. I can't even explain what it is that I like about the desert racers. But they are fun as heck. A must have. I never grab my xmaxx any more. The Arrmas are definitely awesome, but I grab the XRT, super Baja Rey, Asuga or the DBXLE first. I can't remember the last time I drove the kraton or outcast. Actually the last arrmas I drove were the limitless and the vendetta. Has fun with those band xo-1 this summer. I'm sad summer is over. Time to polish up those machines. Snow I like the xmaxx with paddle tires. The super Baja is always at the top at everything but flips. DBXLE is special. A tank. Ouch in fact. I couldn't walk for days after I hit myself with it. I'm totally gun shy now 😬

I think the 4s would be better for general use as in non-hardcore bashers, this video for example or even a bit harder, the 6s would definitely be if you wanted to go for bigger jumps and worse crashes, nothing is unbreakable though😅
Now saying that, I personally like the 4s more because it's much lighter, this is absolutely more stable, much easier to work on and I am really starting to like the plastic chassis cars as long as they are braced and reinforced properly which this car definitely is👌
They drive very similar so neither is a bad choice😉

Sand those tabs down a millimeter or so in thickness & make the body posts holes a bit larger on one end of the body. Not enough wiggle room will destroy that nice body.
I ran a 8mm drill bit through the holes a few times and I think that's enough for now, it'll wear down itself over time like sandpaper👌

Drill out the holes 0.5mm a 8.25mm drill bit
I used a 8mm bit, seems more than enough but if it gets stuck again I may have to use a 8.25mm👍

But yes being a covered in car not a open wheeler it's probably better to stick to fast and flat ground or smaller jumps, me being me though I'm sure you'll see a few backflips at some stage🤪

You said it, you CANT compare them as they are different cars.
The whole reason I got this one is because I'm not a fan of the solid rear axle, this to me personally acts and feels 10× better
For the money I'd get slash ultimate. The Mojave is better in 6S form since Traxxas only has giant scale UDR.

This is stronger, faster, bigger and I think less than a slash ultimate🤦
They should of used a normal diff via belvel gear instead of planetary set up . Gona waste alot of power and probably get hot .

These diffs are SO MUCH stronger than bevelled gears being straight cut gears.
Not sure how it would be any different heat wise, they are doing the same job just different design/shape.

Interesting platform 🤔 seems very stable in the air what's the $$ on these but I feel like I'm still swinging towards the kagama from team corally 🤷♂️
These are about the same as a Kagama in price but it really depends if you want to flip and do stunts or go fast with ultimate stability on flat ground and smaller jumps.
This is not really for backflips and stuff, not say they can't though😅

Every RC is entry level just depends what level you want to start on and how much you want to spend😅
@@rccrazy not really Tekno isn't entry level they make good quality rcs unlike Arrma that use the cheapest materials going, do zero R&D they leave that to their customers to do that! Id never buy another Arrma! It's just a good job they have their fan boyz that clearly dont know any better
This is half the reason I don't do comparison video, get too many people complaining to me about someone else's products.
I show my experience with my RCs no matter the brand, my experience with Arrma has been great so far.
I'm no fanboy that's for sure🤣

And I foolishly bought a infraction and still regret it 2 this day that thing is built like a damp turd!! With more slop than a bowl of soup! I'd never waste my money on a another Arrma again!
And that just shows experience and preferences differ widely.
I and many other have had awesome experiences with some brands and others have had the complete opposite experience.
My Kraton is perfectly fine, my mates Mojave and Infraction are awesome but at the same time I've not had much luck with my plastic chassis Typhon but that doesn't mean I'll never buy another Arrma as you can see.
That goes for any brand, I love HPI yet one of the worst cars I have is a Savage XL.
Runs like a Mojave... just much lighter still digs in like the good ol 6s Mojave soaking up the terrain no problem...great vid man🍻
