Really enjoy the 1st run without music. I appreciate hearing the sound the RC and Rx makes. The throttle, braking, acceleration. Love this format!! Thanks AJ🙏
Loving this review. I like the "no music" test runs. Feels like when I'm out somewhere burning through packs by myself. Had a few issues with ordering mine from Horizon, but hopefully 3rd time's a charm! Looks like a really great basher! The handling is what attracted me to the Mojave 4s in the first place. But I may be interested in doing away with all the extra spring spacers & finding longer springs with similar spring rates.
Been waiting for this vid from you AJ. Runs like the big bro for sure! No music idea is great. Finally RC time here in AZ 🌵 .. gonna pick one up in the other colerway 🔥
Only got mine yesterday. Swapped out the servo and radio gear straight away. Gonna shoe goo the hell out of the body today, check the diffs and shocks tomorrow. Gonna run it Thursday. Can't wait. Cheers. 🍻
Hell yeah dude!! I was really REALLY hoping you would get one!! I'm so excited for this video!! By the way, the whole Mojave power module will fit in the 3S/4S rigs! I was able to slide the center diff module into my Senton with no issues! ARRMA really hit the nail on the head with that!
Thanks for making such awesome videos AJ! As a single dad, I love watching your honest reviews. My daughter also absolutely loves them as well! I just got full custody of her which is amazing. But I also had to sell all my rc cars and trucks. So for now I get to live by watching your videos. I’m sure we can get more cars at some other point when I can save up. I hope to save and get her a Gorgon or from for Christmas 🎄 she’s an amazing little girl! It’s just so much fun watching my little girl enjoy my one hobby!! This Mojave is beautiful btw great video and I love the red white and blue color way
The vibration noise is from the extreme angle of the outer axles.....my stand uses the a arms to support the truck(on the springs)the noise only happens when the tires are hanging....
Very informative. I can’t wait for mine to come in I’ve seen multiple videos about the body pins so that’s the first thing I’m doing before I even run it.
I bet we can put the Kraton 4s body with some mods on the body posts and the K4S ends to make a K4s XL, just like we did with the K6S XL (K6S with Mojave chassis). I have a K6S XL. I love it. You can actually put the center diff in the other 4s models with a little bit of shaving on the chassis of the other vehicles 👍
another great review AJ 🤟there are a couple things i like and dislike with this mojave 4s...the upgraded drivetrain and arms is a big plus, and they actually added a fan to the motor heat sink which is great...But im a little disappointed with that chassis design, yes it was probably a bad fluke it happened but it doesnt give me much confidence in it, and the fact the body gets stuck in the mounts, its been discussed before by other youtubers, its definitely bit of a oversight by Arrma.....another gripe is why do they continue to put crappy servo's and radio's in their RTR's...here in Australia its almost $1000 dollars for one, i would expect better for that price. but in saying that Arrma will always be my favourite brand, already got the kraton 6s, and will get the mojave 6s later in the year. 👍
usd & aud is quite different in value mate 🙂once you convert usd to aud we are basically paying the same as them. in saying that if i was to buy a mojave now i would probably go the 6s, can pick one up one now for $999 (hobby one) decisions, decisions lol.
@@joshobrien7708 I paid $2.100 au for a Traxxas xrt I paid $2100,in us its $999.00 the usd is 63 cents to $1 as from today is not just about conversion Australia has a smaller market so the hobby shops charge more.
Nice that thing looks very cool great review for sure! Arrma does a good job of using same platform with different motor capacities and making diff trucks with similar base structures
Here’s a question. I’ve been watching your channel for some time now and every time I see all your rc trucks in the background I always see them just sitting on its tires but I’ve been told that if you leave your rc trucks in that position long enough that they start to get a flat spot on the bottom of the tires. Is this true or have you noticed it?
I watched your videos on differentials, including the most recent one about the center one. You said that if you put looser diff oil in it that the front won't pop up as much. Is that one thing you can do to the Arrma Mojave 4s to get the front end lower to the ground when accelerating? Everyone's videos show this thing popping up like mad and I can tell they lose some control. Also, it looks like the shocks could use some stiffening to prevent chasiss slapping on the ground. I just think if I had this car I'd stiffin it up a bit and optimize for control.
I think the Hobby Shop misinformed you with respect to ESC voltage to servo. The ESC is set to 6.0v not 7.4v. I'm 100% sure on this, but I saw a video where this guy was setting his Mojave 4s with a program card and his car was set to 6.0v
I watched them check the voltage and it was set too high for the servo and the servo was scorched. Perhaps they weren’t all set this way but the one I saw was. Thanks for sharing with the community 😎👍
Just found you channel and love it. I’ve had about every hobby over the years, and go 11/10ths into every one I get into. Most recently I sold all my giant scale rc airplanes due to a couple of babies. This seems to be an rc hobby I can entertain for the next decade or so with the new time demands. What would you say is the best rtr mini for indoor/driveway fun, and what would you say is your go to all around if you had to have one rc of alllll the types? I’m kinda liking the new brushless mini b about to come out, but for larger scale I’m torn between udr, xrt, and basically everything. I’m a bit more into scale type driving not huge jumps and flips, but also a bit of racing and high performance. Help me pick a couple of initial purchases please 🙏🏼
Excellent information here. I like the look of this RC, but wouldn't go for it. I WOULD go for a Big Rock with this center diff and steel F/R diffs though. More ground clearance with just enough 1/10th scale length for stability. Most importantly....a little less weight than this one is. These electronics are a little too taxed in this rig (imo) that is basically the weight of a more robust 6s, but would go nicely in the 3s sized models. I see more market for Arrma to put these revisions into their 3s line as 4s and call them EXB....without the flawed, enclosed chassis design. Money is getting tighter and tighter for folks, and so I feel more love should be put into their 1/10th. I also feel it should be time for the 6s line to have a totally new redesign from the ground up. At least the Kraton and Outcast. Slightly larger diffs and bigger bearings with a transmission case, enclosing the center diff. Maybe an optional 2 speed kit. A truck frame like Hobao or the old HPI, but low CG as possible with differentials tucked in. Keep Typhon the same.
Its the most contrllable SCT basher in the air no doubt. The senton parachutes like crazy same for the mojave 6s. Main reason i sold it it couldnt land properly and causing broken body posts and bumper rings in 2-3 runs and it wasnt durable enough and sold it. All my trucks run and come back running in working condition 95% of the time

Hi AJ, I'm going to take your advice and replace the steering servo. My question for this car is do I need the high voltage 7.4v version of the Ebay/amazon sevo that usually comes red? That one is blue. I plan to upgrade Kraton 4s, Mojave 4s and Typhon 6s. Please let me know. Thanks Stephen.

Is it not possible the vibration is self inflicted? pulling full throttle unloaded could damage a tire insert in an instant and something no one should ever do!
I'm not sure about giving it a 9/10 for value, you are basically forced to buy a new servo for it... It has to have points docked _somewhere_ for being supplied with a servo that's not suitable for the ESC; that's a ridiculous oversight.
Isn't this kinda insane? You have a $600+ hobby grade toy that you can't get the shell off of easily, the servo is clearly over volted, and there is a weak spot in the frame where a rock punched through it? Does Arrma even test their stuff? I just joined this hobby a couple months ago with my Typhon 6S, and it has been rock solid, but had I seen this video I probably would have second guessed my brand choice. Seems unacceptable to me.
Better join another hobby they all have issues not a single rc isn't unbreakable...they all have there place this guy pushes these rigs to see what they can do not everyone bashes that hard I've had bad issues with Traxxas but still buy them as I do armma if it's cold you don't want to bash hard being plastic it gets brittle just saying everyone doesn't have the same problems most the time people drive them like it's there first time and becomes a driver problem not the car!
I was thinking about getting this RC, BUT 1. cheap remote 2. IT LOOKS LIKE A JUNK CHEVY!!!! I'll stick with my Traxxas RCs because when I spend $500 I get a remote that will run more than 1 RC. And I got the DX5 Rugged Transmitter so I could run more than 1 RC with it. Yes, I have a tote full of Traxxas remotes that I harldly ever use.
So you're happy to get ripped off by traxxas because of the remote, but then bought a different remote (your dx5 is from horizon/arrma-hahaha). A fool and his money are easily parted. First, the SLT and Traxxas remotes are similar junk. Second, no smart person purchases an RC based on the remote. Keep drinking the Kool aid while upgrading your traxxas with arrma/horizon parts. Hahaha.
@@mymom1824 You are not that smart. I don't put arrma/horizon parts into my Traxxas RCs. Why would I put INFERIOR PARTS into a better RC???? I bought the dx5 to mate it to my Losi gravediggers so I could use only 1 remote. Plus the ONLY Arrma I own is EXB Outcast roller. Reason for spending the money on dx5. The outcast is the ONLY Arrma I will ever own. Their RC's look TOO much like JUNK GM/CHEVY's for me to buy. Yep my choice to buy an RC is what brand of car they resemble. I hope I dumbed down my response enough for you to understand.
You don't have to let us know if your mom understands. That can be your secret. For anyone that reads this, don't buy rc's based on the remote and the body shell. Two of the worst criteria for an rc purchase. Base it on the total quality, durability, and value. That may be arrma, tekno, Traxxas etc. Don't get ripped off because your a hater.
I have wanted to like the ARRMA 3S/4S line but the plastic they use for the chassis (perhaps towers/bulkheads too) seem too brittle...they gotta reformulate that plastic to have more resilience. You shouldn't be punching holes in the chassis during moderate bashing. Over time I imagine fatigue cracks could develop as well? I do like the size of this truck, the cage, the center diff, the integrated motor heatsink/fan. Price feels a bit high...Typhon 6S is a far better value at this price point...yeah Typhon isnt a truck but it is a superior RC that can run the same terrain as the Mojave 4S. I think I would rather have a Typhon 6S based Senton (that used to be a thing, right?)..but with a cage, as a middle ground between the Senton 3S and Mojave 6S. Is Mojave 6S even coming back? I hope it didnt get dropped to bring the Mojave 4S to market. Sorry for coming across as negative...Im sure there are plenty of folks that would find this truck meets the sweet spot for what they specifically are looking for in an RC.
Thanks for the video. an interesting model. I 've almost bought it. however, I saw a video where a dude was rolling her in the woods and the chassis bumped into an inconspicuous tree branch sticking out of the ground that pierced the chassis. after that, I decided to buy mojave exb anyway. I think there are no compromises in the choice. exb is out of competition, it is stronger and this is a fact.🫡
Agreed on the no music. Nice to hear the vehicle.
