Hi, I am done with 4 year residency in Radiology from pakistan and currently on Frcr pathway. After clearing FRCR and completing four year residency in pakistan, where do I stand in australian pathway? Does FRCR alone with post graduate training carry weightage in specialist pathway?
Thank you so much for the useful information. Can an IMG with provisional registration work with a private hospital in Australia during the initial 12months under supervision?
Thanks for your comment. Yes, an IMG with provisional registration in Australia can work in a private hospital under supervision during their initial 12 months, provided they meet the requirements set by the AHPRA and the Medical Board of Australia.
Hi, thank you for the video! I wanted to ask you one thing though. I'm a medical student in Italy and, since we do not have a rotation program here, I am considering going to the UK for the Foundation Programme (two years of rotation). At the end of the first year, I'll be eligible for full GMC registration, not just provisional. I want to work in Australia and was considering the competent authority pathway, but there's a problem. Since I'll graduate from medical school in Italy, for the GMC, I'm eligible for provisional registration WITHOUT taking the PLAB 1&2 exams; I just need an English evaluation test. If I obtain full GMC registration and complete two years of rotations without taking the PLAB exams, will I still be eligible for the competent authority pathway?
Thanks for your comment. After having full GMC registration and having 12 months supervised experience component in the UK, then you may apply for required pathway.
@@arlynaugustine8969 Thanks for your comment. You may use different licensing exams (as explained in the video) with their additional experience to fulfill competitive pathway requirements.
Hello, do doctors who come to Australia under the Competent Authority Pathway (CAT - A) also need to complete rotations (medicine, surgery, and emergency care) during their practice under provisional registration in Australia in order to be eligible for General Registration? In my case, I'm a doctor with over 6 years of experience in my home country as a Senior House Officer, plus PLAB 1 and 2, and 1 year of experience in the UK in Dermatology (RMO). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do junior doctors who come to Australia from the UK via the Competent Authority Pathway qualify to apply for Australian PR after completing 1 year of work in Australia? Is this a special PR route available only for doctors, or is it a points-based system where you get points for prior experience, age, English proficiency, etc.?
