Gibson, the shiek of Shelby North Carolina, did write some great songs BUT this one, Woman (Senious ((sp)) woman) was written by the great Gary S. Paxton, of Skip & Flip fame and the Hollywood Argyles fame from Coffeyville Kansas.

Am I the only one that appreciates this music?! This is before my time. Actually OF my time but I was like 3 years old when it came out. It seems like I'm the only one who digs it
Anything by Don Gibson is great, Love this song, have ever since it came out. I was stationed in Charleston, SC at the time this came out....still love it.
This song describes how men and women got together back in the day.He was a handsome fellow and probably went with lots of pretty women. This song is a winner.
A moving song, a man that understands feminity/women. This is definitely a tribute to a lost LOVE. Feel the connection. Sad and Lonely but also very beautiful.
A great singer and song writer . I wonder how many knew he wrote 2 number one songs the same day . O lonesome me and a favorite song of every one I can't stop loving you
This song from Don sound so good his voice is a voice that you cannot forget, so strong, growing up in Aussie on country music melts my heart❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I sure miss good ol" traditional country that came out of the 60's and 70's, even though it began long before that. But, I was very fortunate to have grown up with during those times with Jones, Haggard, Cash, Gibson, Williams and other who knew how to sing a good ol" hurting honky-tonk song😊😉But, I'm glad with todays technology we're able to load up our old favorites on a memory stick and play them in our Dodge Rams☺👍.
This was written and produced by Gary S. Paxton who was the Flip in the 1959 hit "It Was I" by Skip & Flip. Paxton also helped to create and co wrote "Alley Oop" by The Hollywood Argyles and "The Monster Mash" by Bobby "Boris" Pickett & The Crypt Kickers. Don Gibson was one of the greatest song writers ever.
Mr. Gibson was a good song writer n singer. His son. Was my .mix broad operator. We us to set around n sing his dad's own songs. Mr. Don Gibson. Was a fine singer.
My mother, who was a teen in the 1970s, would always be goofy and a lot of the time when I would say woman she would go "Woman woo sensuous woman" just being silly. Man, I miss her.
He was a top country singer as good as any, when county was country! I was there when it came out in 1971. Wow where did the time go? Not this pimp country that is happening now.
That guitar is on display at the Don Gibson Theater in Shelby, NC..he was born in Shelby...and is buried here.his wife Bobbie lives here...she attends a lot of the concerts at the theater...she and the people that assisted her have made a great tribute to Don...if you are ever in the neighborhood, it would be a great place to visit.
I think I love this about as much as the studio version. If it were a dance, it could be a waltz, I guess. 1:12-"I couldn't see the heartaches just ahead"-pretty much sums it up.
He did "Almost Persuaded"? I know David Houston did that one. This is somewhat of a warning of what could happen could "almost" persuaded become full-blown.
When country was country...He is right up there with Merle, George, Johnny and all the other great ones who have left their legacy with us...R.I.P...
Awwwwww the days of REAL COUNTRY MUSIC.... No auto tune, just pure talent with real instruments not computer generated crap.
Loved Don Gibson. So thankful we can still listen to his beautiful voice❤

I am by no means a dancer. But in my humble opinion this is the most easy song to slow dance to. It could really get your heart racing. LOVE IT.

You know, he was very shy. But he got married around 1967,I think it was, and I'd guess he didn't stray.

True country and a true masterpiece!!
A great singer and song writer . I wonder how many knew he wrote 2 number one songs the same day . O lonesome me and a favorite song of every one I can't stop loving you
Aside from Don's lyrical phrasing, his solid rhythm guitar playing , made him a sought after session player in Nashville. Elvis most notably.
Gosh, good to hear that great old country classic song from one of the best, Don Gibson. Thanks, Kevin.
