I agree! I’m 83 and have loved him since I first heard him sing! We have same first name! He died on my birthday! One of best country music singers in the business!
What are we missing. Years have passed since I've heard this, and it's still have that same effect on me.a voice I shall never forget. Thank you for the memories you give me.
@@tomcarpenter700 if my memory is correct he was trying to explain what he wanted on the piano part for singing the blues & showing the piano player how he wanted it the piano player said you should play it. marty said he wasn't a piano player. well you hear him playing on the recording. Him hosting the Opry for years & he had the longest show ever after being late due to a long race at nashville track & he played half the night. jim Reeves plane crashed on the back of Marty's property & he made the call for help.
One of my favourite singers ever since my grandfather bought me a Decca record player and Gunfighter Ballads record for Christmas 1958.Taken away too soon and a great loss to the music world, leaving a gap that will never be filled
Our Dad instilled in all 11 of us kid's a love for music that we have cherished all of our lives. Grew up listening to Marty, Jim Reeves, Patsy Cline, Eddy Arnold, Chet Atkins, etc.etc. etc., every weekend all through our childhood, Thanks Chief, Love you always! Bink!
