I totally agree with you with the materials used. I completely avoid polyester at all costs, I’m not sure why brands still use it. Why it costs the same as something natural is just weird lol
I think costs but also it can be used from a technical perspective to create desired drape etc or for pleating (it's why you'll often see it even with designer collections - but it looks and feels high end). But as far as Sezane is concerned, I always find there's such a huge contrast between the feel of their polyester pieces compared to the natural fibre ones so that baffles me even more with the price!
I have a couple of Sezane pieces. I wish they would allow reviews of the items, and give garment measurements. It would be very helpful. But their styles are very nice.
You can try asking the customer support about garment measurements :) I did that before purchasing my very first Sézane piece and it was rather helpful
I 100% agree on the Gaspard jumper. I bought mine secondhand and I´m so glad I didn´t buy it new. I rarely wore it because it´s so itchy. I genuinely don´t understand how so many people comment on how soft it is because it really isn´t! I sold mine off a couple weeks ago and used that for something else
You’re welcome! I haven’t tried the Chloe chambray but have the max shirt in the chambray and would suspect it’s likely a similar fabric? With some heft to it, fully opaque and has a soft structure x
I much preferred the style of the Barry which they discontinued (a shame, really). But yeah the fabric just isn’t it for me either. Thinking it might be time to finally let go of mine
I love everything Sezane, I looked at some of the comments but that hasn't been my experience. I do watch videos of influencers wearing them, so I get an idea of size as it's different here in US. Great video!
Thanks Janelle! The brand's clothing is beautiful isn't it? I've shared a few Sezane reviews over the years and the experiences have been really mixed - opposing ends of the spectrum. I'm generally happy to put up with a little hassle when online shopping anyway, so doesn't bother me, especially as I've managed to add some real gems to my closet from the brand :)
I have to agree with you on the Gaspard. I have it in black and while I like, I don't love it. For me it's mainly the neckline, I just think it's a bit too wide. My favorite piece from Sézane is the Alicia skirt in the black floral pattern you have in the mini skirt😍
Yeah see I think I would have been better served with the black, but ultimately feel the same way you do. Even in another colour I have other knits I would always pick over the gaspard and I really don’t like the fabric 😅 ah and the Alicia is LOVELY! I also bought that skirt in the black floral but found myself wearing the Carolina every time. Such a classic style 👏🏻
Love your sesame reviews! I've got the leontine jumper and Gaspard jumper after watching your reviews! So glad you've done thorough reviews and highlighted the importance of looking at fabric compositions for Sezane items. I also like their Ann silk shirts for work - those wash well in the washing machine as well (handwash setting, gentle cashmere detergent).
Thank you so much! Oooh and I have one of the Ann shirts but never thought to pop it in the washing machine on the hand wash setting so thank you for the tip! xx
@@mademoisellejaime Thank you! Forgot to mention, just need a steam afterwards to restore the silky texture (I use a portable steamer and it's worked fine) xxx
Discovered Sezane through UA-camrs like yourself, and love the brand, but Sezane doesn’t make shopping easy. I seem to be between sizes often and returns are not free. So I made the effort to visit the London store. Tried to call ahead to check stock but they don’t share the store phone number. It’s a smallish store and lots of stock isn’t available or is stored out the back, resulting in customers constantly needing to ask staff for items. The store manager (I think) was really helpful though.
That makes it so hard! When I first purchased from Sezane, returns from Australia weren't free either, so I had to *really* shop with caution as any return was prohibitively expensive. They have an AU warehouse here now that makes it easier. But definitely tricky that they don't list the item measurements on the website - I think that would be so helpful as I often rely on that (from other websites) when making my own purchasing decisions around size x
Another great video, Jamie. I can't agree with you more on your Sezane reviews. I have stayed away from Gaspard for years, but recently I fell for the Iris color.🤣Hope I won't regret it. Regarding the Will jacket, I still haven't fell for it. Like you said, maybe it's just not my style, although I like how you dressed it in this video. I also stayed away from kid mohair knits from Sezane, but I love their cotton and merino knits. Thank you for the tip on the Leontine. I thought mine has shrunk and I seriously thought I need to buy a size up, but now I will pull the knit after wash so it will come back to its normal length, especially the arms. 😆Dita jumper has been under my radar for a while. After saw you dressed it with HoD trousers, I think I'll pull the trigger🥰 I really love your styles and your videos are very inspirational. I'd love to see your reviews on Tibi, Toteme, or some of your favorite brands. Of course a following up review like this one is also very helpful. Thanks again. Have a wonderful week.
Thank you lovely! Haha, well, call me a fool as I tried it previously, didn't like it, then bought it AGAIN. You'd think I'd have learnt my lesson the first time. I suppose I was trying to see what everyone else did. Hopefully will be a winner for you. Yes! Their cotton and merino sweaters are divine. My favourites for sure. And, so glad to hear that tip will be useful for you. I think for petites will be a boon as even bracelet length can be too long on someone shorter. You'll LOVE the Dita! It's such a brilliant basic. I am toying with getting it in the black, too. Hmm.. I've definitely amassed quite the Tibi collection over the past 12-18 months so that's one I could talk to for sure :D xx
Great video! Do you find the Capucine cardigan true to size or oversized in the size S? Is the Carolina skirt comfortable to wear, it looks quite short🙈I have been eyeing the style for quite a while! It looks amazing on you! Take care😘
Sorry for the delay - yes and YES! I actually would love to get it in one of the other colours. The cotton is really thick so it isn't sheer, and I like that it's not super long either. Easy to tuck. The shoulder detail is really nice; subtle but adds some good interest. The fabric isn't a super soft cotton, but that doesn't bother me. I think it needs to be what it is to have the structure
Did Leontine sweater soften up for you? I just returned mine last week. The color and design is so lovely. But I was surprised how stiff the cotton felt.
Yes! Forgot to mention that 😅 filming videos feels a bit like a race against the clock these days as I try fit it around our daughters naps 🤪🤪 definitely something I will be doing. Only downside is that the end will hang lower down?
Yes, Carolina is my favorite! I barely wear skirts but have reached to the Carolina many times this summer 🏝️ But, it shrank a bit after the still wash. Still fits but it's shorter on my now 😞
Just received the Leontine jumper yesterday and noticed the material is a bit stiff feeling, almost uncomfortable. I was expecting a much softer feeling knit. Will it soften with wear or washing?
Started shopping with Sézane at the beginning of the year and am hooked! Though I have unfortunatelly gotten quite a few damaged pieces.. 😢 so that has made me a bit sceptical about the brand nowadays 😔 Btw, how do you wash your Léontine and Carolina skirt? Also, the navy-ecru Léontine is really lovely, highly recommend it! 🥰
Oh gosh that is so frustrating. I’ve not received a damaged piece (knock on wood), and I totally forgot to mention how weird their returns process is in the outro (I feel like I always have to follow up). I wash them in a regular cold wash setting with like colours. The Carolina I put in a delicates bag xx
Is it a top you would keep if it weren't for the loose buttons? The reason I ask is because you could easily remedy this by reinforcing the buttons yourself with a needle and thread - perhaps reaching out to their customer service (with photos) to request a partial refund for the trouble. So, returns from Australia are now free as they have a local warehouse. I'm not sure if you are based here but there are free returns in a few countries. What you need to do, is get a copy of the tracking receipt when the parcel is lodged at the post office, and keep an eye on the tracking. I'll usually email a few days after it appears to have been received at the warehouse, to follow up on my refund. It can take a few weeks and just requires being conscious of when you returned etc. Sometimes, the customer service team won't refund you for all your items either so you have to chase that up... I've never had an issue receiving my money back for returned items though, it's just more the admin side of it that can be a little annoying.
I would keep if it was a lot less expensive & higher quality fabric! My expectations of the quality were a lot higher and it left a bit of a sour impression because it was my first time purchasing. :( Oh yikes! Thanks for the heads up. I’m based in the US but I imagine the process is similar because the returns were routed to a warehouse in the States.
*or higher quality I don’t mind paying for high quality, but unfortunately the top I received had fabric that was very thin & didn’t seem like it would last
yep their product pictures are really bad to make an informed decision for online shopping without returns, plus they never mention what size the model is wearing so in the end, I don't order much with them to save me the hassle! That little black and white skirt looks really prerry.
Yes so true! I wish they would pop the item measurements up as that to me is always so helpful, especially if I want to wear it slightly differently to how it’s pictured/intended (ie higher/lower on waist or looser/more fitted)

I wish they had the garment measurements too - especially for the more fitted designs. Always so helpful when deciding on size!

Some people have more sensitive skin ;)
I agree. It is really misleading…
Based on a few other comments, sounds like we aren't alone in this. I'm glad it's not just me!
I hand wash all my silk Chloe blouses in cold water with a detergent called “Soap” and haven’t had any issues :)
Oooh that's great to know - thanks for sharing! x
Thanks for the review of the Chloe. Can you comment on their Chloe 100% cotton chambray?
You’re welcome! I haven’t tried the Chloe chambray but have the max shirt in the chambray and would suspect it’s likely a similar fabric? With some heft to it, fully opaque and has a soft structure x

I am surprised how good you look in all white and light colours.
Oh really? You have me so curious as to why! 🙈 At any rate, I'm glad they suit me as I do enjoy a head to toe light neutral outfit 😁
Thanks for this great review Agapi mou 😘 have a great week ahead!

I’m usually a size small or UK8 :)
Thank you for your video. I just placed ordered after your review xox

Hi Jamie! Would you recommend the Sezane Paxton top in Ecru please? Was looking for some reviews… and you looked lovely in it!

Does the Leontine jumper get softer after you wear and wash it a few times? The fabric is rather rough.
It does get softer as you wash and wear it but will always retain that sturdy sort of nature to the fabric x
Did Leontine sweater soften up for you? I just returned mine last week. The color and design is so lovely. But I was surprised how stiff the cotton felt.
Yes it did over time - it’s still not “super soft” and has a slightly rigidity to it but very comfortable to wear
I learnt the hard way with the Gaspard 😂 And you absolutely convinced me that I needed the Leontine in my life... now I have two! 😍
I tried so hard to like it I bought it twice LOL! Ahh and how good is it 😚👌🏻
Nice concept
Jamie in regards to bag can u place another hold near buckle to adjust the strap? Great video and points with regards to Sezane.
