Drum Sequencer is a Player Rack Extension that can be added to any instrument device in Reason. With its set of powerful-yet-intuitive programming tools you’ll be knocking out drum beats faster than ever. With features such as repeats, probability and per-channel time resolution, the creative potential is endless! And the best of all - it adds fun to drum programming. Loads of fun!
The ability to set individual speed and step count for each channel means you can go for polyrhythmic mayhem or simply create patterns that don’t sound repetitive after one play through. Unless that’s what you are after of course. Why not try to use the Drum Sequencer Player as a step sequencer for synths?
Use Drum Sequencer the way that suits your creative flow best: to sequence all the drums for your project or as a blazingly fast starting point. If you wish you can dump your drum patterns to Reason’s main sequencer so you can finish your work there.

The slide feature is the secret super star. Finally easy drum sequencing that can sound human.
I record all my tutorials on reason, I’ve made hip-hop beats with it since 2007, I know it is just a pinned comment but it still feels really cool. I love what you all do!
The Billy Jean joke is priceless.
Yes pure comedy!
I don't understand why some producers still thinking Reason is a sort of toy... you guys are breaking the concept of DAW as a record machine with some MIDI tools, you are beyond all of the others in many aspects, and this new player is something! Thanx!
Mano Bap I’ve heard 19-year old metal heads assert all synthesizers are toys. The fact is, “toy” defines not only all instruments but all sports equipment-if used recreationally. “Toy” is just a passive-aggressive euphemism used by someone who feels threatened by tools that achieve similar or novel results with less effort or a more ergonomic design.
@@SeeingColor Roland Boutiques are called toys by analog snobs
Because the proppelerheads clearly don't understand the differenece between polyrytm and polymeter
@ 06:20 is a prime example of that , they showcase polymeter and call it polyrytm , Epic Swedish facepalm
ive been noticing more and more things ive seen within the reason ecosystem start to turn up in other daws, plug ins etc
@@WARDISWARD As far as i know Polyrythm is just using 2 diferent division values together. And the showcase done here seems exactly that. The below part is divided in 4, the top part is not divided in 4 , that's polyrythm in theory
I was blown away after 20 minutes. plus it's free. 🙏🙌 I might have to call off work today. Today is a good day.😍
Have fun!
HottRoundzProduction until May 31
HottRoundzProduction it's free right now
free you tard.
I DID call off work! Lol
Damn, this is the greatest drum sequencer I've ever seen.
You just blew my mind. Not only are your videos now top notch as far as production goes, the lessons and presentation, Reason's possibilities - everything! Thank you for your work on this, excellent 👍
🙌
every time they put something out, you can see and hear their dedication to music - awesome!!!
As a drummer, this is nice for melodic instruments, I can just program my melodies with rhythmic ideas way faster than before !
Thanks Propellerhead, as always !
Now let's have some fun !
Slim Terrorizer I
Wow this is gonna speed up my workflow 10x over... Great work
Exactly and you don't need a interface, especially if you're inside the box like me, this is dope-a-licious!
The visual feedback from the device is amazing (among everything else). Thanks for keeping it simple with 8 slots only, much better for workflow.
You guys did an amazing job! I just bought Reason, came from Reason 5, and this new tool is very helpful. Thanks a lot!!
So, SO grateful for all these tips; there is just too much stuff that Reason can do! Have watched this two or three times now and get new ideas from each viewing, so thank you!
Excellent concepts! As a professional Usability Engineer/User Experience Designer I must really say your user interfaces are just amazing and very well though out. Top notch.
Absolutely Brilliant. I just caught drum sequencer for free with the Reason 10 upgrade and whoa, this is truly awesome. Also, great GREAT tutorial. Keep up the Great work Propellerhead! You are appreciated!!!
After a pause of 7 years, a week ago, I started seriously producing electronic music again. This tutorial helps me to get up to speed in Reason 10 quickly. a Great and inspiring tutorial! Thank you!
By far, THE most effective improvement to Reason EVER! Immediately makes creation and ideation 10X smoother. Thank you Thank you Thank you
I definitely must watch more videos like this, it makes so much fun to discovering this small steps, that make giant leaps in the production phases.
Amazing video. Not only a great showcase for the software, but highly educational for musicians in general.
You know I just though I’d brush up on reason while I’m home. Boy this is a game changer!
Thankful you guys posted this video I’m excited!
I'm new into this industry and I'm a quick learner I'm gaining a lot,,thank you for sharing such profound experiences
Thanks for adding the Drum Sequencer to Reason 10!! Just got mine and I LOVE IT! This is why I'm a Reason user -- because Propellerhead loves us :D
this is a great addition, loving every single feature of this player, thank you guys.
Reason is unbelievably amazing!!! I kept getting closer and closer to simulating real drums, you know what happened? A real drum set spontaneously materialized in my dining room and I started learning how to play them. Incredible. I love Reason!
Oh wow, this is super cool. Was skeptical at first, until you started in on the polyrhythmic stuff, and basically everything after that... *mind blown*!
Awesome idea for a player and as usual, thanks for the amazing tutorial/demo
I love that it's so easy and straightforward! This is really great!
Seriously amazing, thanks for increased workflow options!
HAZARDOUS88 What workflow options have been added?
I suggest you watch the video.
Are you kidding? You need to watch the video, not once did the guy use a drum machine with pads. when he laid the first four to floor step it was done with ease, what are you talking about? That's a helleva work flow.
Jesus dude... why would anyone else use any other DAW (other than already having bought into one). You guys are the greatest, constantly adding HUGE value! Before when Reason was just midi you needed a DAW but once audio recording and VSTs were added, game over... and now all these killer updates!
Thank you so much for including proper pattern support in the sequencer
Love this! Thanks so much Propellerhead! You make the best music software there is!
Finally something!!! I've been waiting for something like this in Reason. Thx!!!
This is fantastic and really adds expression! It's definitely a game changer. Thanks a bunch!
Amazing and unbelievably useful addition to Reason rack! Thank you!
Marvelous tool. This is such a nice sequencer for brainstorming new ideas as any beat is the backbone of music productions. Hope to see this included with a perpetual software license Reason 12 update! 🙂👍🏻
ahhhhh, when reason actually made nice tutorials.. doesn't even seem so long ago, i miss this guy
The people at propellerhead are something else!! Im blown away 🤯🤯🤯🤯 thank you guys!!
I'm blown away by the instructors music and sequencer
I did not expect so much from a little unit like the Drum Sequencer. I can't wait to use it!
freakin' awesome! thanks for blowing my mind every time you launch an actualization!
greetings from Chile ;)
Great demo/tutorial! So very useful to see how this stuff is used!
So much WOW! What a freaking nice player device! Thanks a lot for that! I hope that we will recive some more cool updates like this for reason 10 before reason 11 is coming out.
This is really going to transform the way I'm able to program drums..This is a quantum leap in drum programming for me
I like it. Step Sequencers are so much fun. The people who made this stuff probably think about dream recorders.
This is increduble! Thanks Propellerheads! So looking forward to using this!
Thats the reason why i love Reason
amazing, thanks propellerhead. easy to use to help spice up your drum patterns. very useful tool in my opinion. great job.
Great stuff! I use FL mobile on my tablet and now I am happy I can work in a similar way in Reason too.
I have been looking for something like this ( a mini Redrum Seq), to be honest this is way better than what I imagined. it also solve other issues (note repeat, groove etc) in one place. Ngiyabonga!
First time I'm actually considering upgrading from 7 to 10. This is awesome.
I won't be able to upgrade (the price is a little too steep for me, and with the recent synth rig crossgrade...), but you have given me a whole new reason to ditch redrum and work a rhythm directly into the sequencer. Just been meddling inside the sequencer after watching this video, and it is so much more more liberating than using Redrum. Thanks for the video. Thanks for device, even if indirectly so, because it just taught me to have fun in a completely different way!
BRAVO guys! This speaks to me!! THANK YOU!!
Yeah that was a pretty amazing video... I was using the drum sequencer today and had no idea it could do all that!
Don't own reason but I always liked how everything is nicely laid out and plenty of nice features for creativity are crammed into very little.
The comic relief at 11:32 was everything.
This fella's presentation style is the best.
...and I'm suddenly starting to feel a sick day coming on ;)
So simple but powerful. great improvement
This workflow is crazy good!
This looks like something I've wanted for years. Drums are often neglected in sequencing and it can make something that should be enjoyable into a chore.
So cool, can't wait to get home from work and give this a go!
Thanks Propellerhead!
Thank You Propellerheads! I was waiting for this for years! Finally i don't have to use the old Redrum no more for fast Beat making! Chears Propellerheads!
Holy moly! I need this one! Thanks a ton for this video!
Much creative potential in this sequencer!
Never been so compelled to write country music 🤠 Time to get back into Reason! Thanks for this 👍
Drum Sequencer + Kong covers almost all the bases that Breaktweaker does, minus wav generation (which can be set up through samples), or shaping the curve of the repeats, or mixing two sounds for one pad as well. Otherwise, pretty awesome, and easier to use. Great job.
I love how you kept the last minute to blow our minds 😂😂😂
I didnt watch it all till i read your comment...
was wondering about sliding a note in increments, good to see it was included
We’re all the up! This is great addition to rack family.
fantastic HMI, great video... finally what non drum maker and non drummer wanted
Mind blown... I know what I’m doing this weekend 🔥👍🏽
best player so far .. thanks a lot - hope for a chords player update soon...need some notes delay for each note - means a start /lengths button a very bias button like quad note generator.
Amazing update :-) Downloading now :-) Thanks so much Propellerhead for the huge amount of effort you guys are putting into these updates.. really appreciate it :)
🙌
amazing, you guys make the best tutorials
this looks easier to use than the matrix sequencer.... but the matrix has more notes and octaves available. that matrix sequencer is so tiny.
honestly i love what you can do with it. i love the fact that you don't have to click on every drum sample to program a beat... makes things alot faster like using an actual drum machine....
i've always thought using a real drum machine was alot faster and easier than programming beats on a digital daw.
but yeah this is pretty much a sequencer... i really like how fast you can put stuff in it too.
Good job guys.
Waw, didn't realize I had all this power in my hands. Thank you.
I am a Cubase user, I'm definitely switching to Reason just for this new features. Thanks Propellerhead
Finally got around to watching this video. My mind is blown so hard.
Since it's free, I think it should be included by default in Reason. Amazing extension especially at the end
Wow. Very informational buddy!
Thank you!
This is exactly what I needed to start the weekend. Gonna lock the door now.
Mind.... blown. I have so much to learn...
Always great videos and that guys voice makes for a really recognizable PH video:)
Stoked to try this with Battery as well
Wow! Wish I saw this video before I bought my current DAW.
Anyways. It's the creative idea and understanding how they work is the most important thing.
The video was amazing. Thanks!
You were losing me until you got to the probability function. And then the repeats! Speeds up my "Trap" workflow tremendously. Then the pattern sequencing, DAMN THIS IS GOOD! I'm sold. Good fucking job Propellerhead. Keep up the great work!
Oh my, the possibilities...... again!!! Yes!
Reason is simply a BEAST!Thx
You guys are incredible !!!
wow, this is huge, good job propellerhead !
damn props have done it again this player is like so complex and fun I need some time off man!! thanks!!!!
Just linked my Moog Minitaur into this. It's so sick! Thank you, Propellerhead!
Cool! I want to hear what that sounds like! :) /Stefan
Well, I was gonna buy Volca Kick, but you guys made this. Bass beats on a Moog sound DIRTY! Add a Polivoks and it farts like a Soviet tractor with a bad gasket. Let me warn you, I play Death Industrial/ Power Electronics, so it might not be to your taste, but the possibilities here are endless. This sequencer could change the worlds of Trap and Witch House or any other genre out there. Just use your imagination. Still learning this. Good times. Many thanks.
@@johnnymidnight2982 Hey Johnny you have a link to any of your tunes? I'm interested in listening. Thanks :)
I simply love this!! ❤
Awesome addition to Reason 10!! Can't wait to dive in.
woah! each lane has a cv gate out. yummm
Thank you for posting this!
It's pure workflow....Great
Very good useful update, thanks! 💪🏻👍🏻
This program just keeps getting better
I can't wait to get my reason 10 intro and someday upgrade to the full version.
Just upgraded the other day and started messing with this today. Took a bit for me to really get around to understand it with the style of music i like to do, but figured it out. A note that Propellerhead forgot to mention (may or may not be in comments somewhere, haven't read all) if you're doing genres like dubstep for instance, treat each pattern in this player as one bar. It was really throwing me off for a bit as I couldn't figure out why my drums were sounding faster. For more creativity can set the speed to .5 the normal which will give you 2 bars in one pattern. hope this help some out
very cool video and examples.
Awesome!.. thank you so much Propellerhead!
Thanks for this present!!!
