Great to see you back Jef, all the best from the UK! Thanks for this video, I've been thinking about taking a look at Reason for a while, especially with the current offer. I think you've just persuaded me...
Hey Jef, Just wanne say that all of your video's, have very balanced audio/video, very crisp! Great to watch, and I also love your content! A fan! :D I also like ADIDAS! hahahaha! Also fun album of Donny Benét!
The man, the myth, the legend. LIke a sequal, he's back. Jef "I kicked it's ass" Gibbons....Applause. Brother I'm glad to see you up and about. Was never a doubt. Great content as always.
@@jefgibbons yes, the send to track feature is only in the reason sequencer available , reason is working on a midi drag and drop feature in other daw‘s
Congrats on your recovery. Great looking software. I tried to buy it. I was told you have to buy their Reason software for $499 in order to use Chord Sequencer.
To buy full licence for Reason is $499 Cord sequencer is not included its $50 or Reason Plus for $20 a month access to use all of there devices and DAW while you pay plus sound packs which include patches, preset and audio samples 2 new packs per week. Or buy Reason 11 lite licence for about $20 off of Ebay them buy cord sequencer.
In the Reason DAW you can send that midi straight to track.. Cant do that with the rank in 3rd party DAWs, can record the midi of course and you can automate the pattern select..
I've been waiting for this plugin for a long time. I'm just wondering if you can use the chord sequencer on my logic pro X without using a reason as my DAW? Thank you
Rewatching due to 1.1 release--great video. One workflow issue I'm dealing with is whether it's better to record into DAW or Sequencer. Hope you review 1.1!
Hi Jef, 'Really appreciate your work! I was wondering if you could offer a couple of pointers on getting my Maschine MK3 to trigger the Reason Chord Sequencer. I at least got it to trigger, but it only seem to play the root note, not the chord...What am I missing? Thanks for all you share with the music community.
Hi Jef. How are you?I have reason. I am new to scales&chords. I recently bought scaler 2,I haven't started using it yet, so I don't know how to use it. Should I have bought cord sequencer instead? For someone that doesn't play keys very well, what is the best way to make Professional level music? How do I navigate that process and quantum leap in by productions?
Honestly the best thing you could do is find some good music theory basics videos, study those, and start practicing your scales on the keyboard. Enrolling in a music basics course would keep you even more accountable. But mostly force yourself to work on it every day, even if it’s just a few minutes!
Also, i would like @Reason Studios to include the ability to detach the piano roll from the sequencer and make it possible for it to have its own full screen view like the mixer or the rack view. The piano roll is small, the zoom functions are limited, and i can't get it to resize. It's stuck in the bottom right side of the sequencer. I would like it to be larger, be resizable, have ghost notes from other midi channels... as well as show the key names on the left side of the piano roll. Like C1,A flat, etc. And i would like them to make the notes that you can draw larger. They are tiny. I would like them to make it easy for an old man with bad eyes to make a beat... lol. That product would rival FL Studios piano roll... and maybe the new Ableton piano roll upgrades. What do you think? Will @Reason Studios make those upgrades and changes before the next update?
@jefgibbons How much pull do you have over there @Reason Studios ?...lol.I'm not trying to make you or anyone else mad. I'm just trying to get more functionality in the program. I like using it. I used it for a very long time. I'm relearning it right now, but I like how ready it is to get working on a project and get inspired. I'll be honest, for the last week it takes an insane amount of time for the application to start. It has been sitting on the orange opening screen before it scans for plugins etc for an hour or more. On Friday I tried to open Reason, it took so long that I opened Fl Studio and made a beat before Reason Studios loaded up, and when it did I naively made the same beat over again in Reason. I don't like using Fl Studio but it loads quicker, the piano roll is better, etc. I'm trying to figure a workflow out that's gonna work well with me for the long haul. The Fl Studio content creators are making better music as a group. I think they have a very aggressive mix on their drums, they have learned how to use their soft clipper to bring up the loudness in their mixes, and now they have a chord generator. But I still want Reason Studios to win. Well I need to start using Studio One or another professional daw to start doing professional projects in the future? Does Studio One Artist edition have the capacity to operate to a Pro tools or Cubase professional level capacity from best making to fill song production? I'm sorry about the mini novel I wrote you... lol. I do respect your opinion.i think you're a good guy. And I appreciate your videos. But I can't buy any more software packages until I start making music money or win the lottery... lol. I can't buy everything my brother. Lol... have a good day. Thank you.
You can load VST3 into a DAW that dont support VST3 by using a 3rd party VST loader of which there are several which I wont but if you really want it then it can be done.
Hi Jef! As a work-around for subscriptions, could I purchase an older version of REASON (say v10 or 11) and then purchase the new Chord sequencer? This is a breakthru methinks.
This is something that really should have been part of Reason 13 but instead they go the subcription/buy route. In other DAW:S some kind of Chord helper is always included. Kind of an essential basic tool that nowadays is used everywhere. This is especially bad for Reason since it was initially released as a "Do it all in the box" DAW, ie everything you need is included.
Happy to see you back, Jef! I hope that all went well with your procedure and that you’re on the mend. Cheers
Indeed! Thanks Jeffrey!
I love these chord sequencing tools, SO HELPFUL for improvisation when your bandmates flake out or just for a rainy day :)
I am thankful to see you looking healthy and happy. Hope your recovery is smooth and short.
Thanks so much Alex, I’m doing great!
I think this is a winner for Reason Studios--a lot of UA-cam coverage. Thank you Jef
Most welcome!
Hi! Great to see you back… thanks for this vid
Thanks Amrit, good to be back!!!
Great to see you back online! Excellent video, thank you. Love the Reason and Cubase content!
Thanks!

@@jefgibbons That's the attraction!
Glad you're back and looking spritely. :-)

Thanks Reginald! Have you tried reason rack or a 3rd party in Maschine on pc?
@@jefgibbons There are several 3rd party VSTs that work in the Maschine plugin - UJAM, Korg, etc.

Thanks Yusuf!
Hi! Is there a way to buy and use this player without having reason?
Great to see you're doing well. Glad to have you back in action. Thanks for the video, Jef.
@Jef great to hear from you again. Would be interesting if you'd review the #Scaler2 plugin.

good to see you!

Two other options are:
1 Subscription.
2 Get a license for the old Reason 11 lite. You might find it second hand, then buy just the chord player.

Hey Jef! Have you had any experience with plugin boutiques Scaler 2? It seems very similar...more options and depth, but perhaps harder to use.
