Finished the 1970 major - new brushes as there were only tiny bits of the old, I can see that machine has been previously worked over as the two spring/screw fixing brackets were under the moving plate and there were many joined wires. I put the rotor in my drill and sanded the com smooth, fitted new brushes and resistor . The machine now works but I must lower the plate as it will not start immediatly , I have to move the switch towards number one. Thanks youtube for all the videos.

I used to work in an electrical shop in sheffield who had a Kenwood franchise. I well remember all these repairs.

I totally agree with your thinking. Squeeze as much juice as possible before discarding the lemon.

Thanks for that - was watching James May the reassembler on the Kenwood and it reminded me how much I wish I could respray the old Kenwood. You video held in knowing where to start disassembling it :) Cheers!!

great video for the 701. I would note that it's possible to remove the motor without removing the hinge pin (so you don't have the hassle of forcing it back in, or risking the enamel with the hammer). remove the wiring from the motor base, then the covers can be removed, then the motor can be withdrawn from the base of the unit.

    Fantastic video. Thank you!
    A question:
My A701A is completely dead. Where do I start to find out what is broken inside the unit? No idea where to begin!!

    • @321tryagain
      @321tryagain 4 роки тому +1

Can you take it to a "repair cafe"? If not, first thing to check is the fuse. Then, does it make any noise at all, or is it totally dead? If it's totally dead then it could just be a problem with the cable, try replacing it.

Why does yours have ann extra capacitor ,mine does not have the green capacitor and it works,
should they all have a silver capacitor and a green capacitor?

Hi Thomas, Thank you for the video..very helpful :) I wondered if you might be able to advise me where I could find any
online resourse to help me service my Kenwood chef A701A? I'm used to
taking old Singer sewing machines apart but its my first Kenwood!!
Thanks again for the video. Laura

      Hi Laura
online resourse: Do you mean people who can help or spare parts for the Kenwood machine?

Hello Sir, I therefore allowed myself to contact you because I have a Kenwood chef A701A and it has just broken down. When I press the blue button on the speed variator it starts normally at all speeds (constant increase in speed) and the more I turn it the faster it goes. Only when I put the sheet or the hook with a preparation inside it leaves timidly and stops immediately turning although the engine is still very audible. I think he no longer has the strength to train the accessories. I started to disassemble it because I was thinking of a problem with the strap on the top but it looks in good condition. Before dismantling everything, could you help me by giving me some tips on the breakdown. Hope you can help me thank you in advance. Cordially. C. Bernadat
