I've only discovered this video and am very pleased to recommend Mike. I live in Northern Ireland and posted my 40 year old Chef to him for restoration. He kept me advised at all times during the process, and the Chef was returned as new. Needless to say, it works perfectly! Thank you Mike!
I have my Nan's mixer, it's the light blue and white one. I use it a couple of times a week. She got it as a wedding present! I have all the attachments too. Like the blender and mincer etc (I haven't used those bits yet though!). I swear these mix a cake mix so much better than any modern mixer! I have a newer Kenwood which sits in the back of the cupboard, because this is my go to mixer!!
It's so great .your restoring these Kenwood mixers.. There great Mixers.. I have the early titanium model and it's an absolute workhorse..I love it.. Steve
I caught the bug myself. Already bought two in the space of about a month, and already finding them quite pleasant to work with. Spare parts are available, replacement parts are sometimes necessary too. There's just plenty of charm in the older mixers, especially the A700.
Thank you for this great video. I inherited A701 Keenwood chef from my mother in law. It's in good shape but im unable to pull out the front cap after releasing the lever and use the vegetable slicer, could you please help me as I dont want to damage my the piece. Thanks

The KenWood mixer is part of the family. And if cared for will last a lifetime and never need replacing.
I have just completed an overhaul of a701 Major. New resistor etc , then modern first two gears, grease looked fine. Cost of parts about £90.
My kenwood a701 runs at same full speed when switch to no 1 no 2 etc any advice thk
