This is because they are playing on controller so with a steering wheel you have very fine adjustments. On a controller you don't so when you move the stick it's all or nothing if you know what I mean :)

The only part of this whole video that I have down at present, is the sliding off the road into a tree part. I only started playing this game 2 days ago, so I have still much to learn. You make drifting look so cool, and easy at the same time. Thanks for the detailed and entertaining tutorial.
LMAOOO so a tip for you the break is used to pull back the car so it’s just as important as the gas. You don’t have to smash the gas either that’s just revving the limiter and most like why you’re spinning out into trees 😂Forza is unnecessary hard to get used to. I’m great at drifting on other games but Forza is just different I’m still learning myself
@@isaiahbrown5808 Thanks for the tips. I also use a keyboard which apparently makes the art of drifting a bit more difficult to master. I have also switched to manual gearing. I have gotten a little better, though, since posting this comment. But it's still a definite work in progress.
@@DarthIckus the way he was using the handbrake it’s essentially what I was saying with the regular brakes. You might want to use manual with clutch too bc it makes it easy to maintain the same speed throughout the drift
What is happening at 22:23. You seem to be in a long controlled slide towards the bend with some direction control, appears to not be ‘driftingz’ but you’re getting drift points still? I would’ve ‘manjid’ 4 times there trying to a) slow up for the bend b) trying to keep a drift going, but each cross over stops my score mid transition ? With your car and tune I’m getting 750-850k up/down hill. I’m just missing that extra fines for the big score.

@@Shane-o I do have some questions, sometimes I can't keep my drift going all the way around the large corners and how do u know what gear you need to be in?
@Trixnglz ooof man that's a really hard question to answer so I apologise if i dont quite answer it clearly in this comment. It really depends what you mean by can't hold the drift? If your car is straightening out as in your full throttle and hitting the rev limiter but your car just goes straight that means you need to change up a gear and floor it! If your car "bogs down" so you're not hitting the limiter and loosing power so it straightens this means 1 of 2 things. You have too much grip. This can be reduced by either upping the tyre pressure or changing to snow or drag tyres so you have less grip overall. Or number 2 is purely you're in a gear that's too high for that corner. I should say that your tune depends massively on what you want to do. If you want to do the cara esta drift zone my tunes are great as they have a good amount of grip. If you want to go into online open drifting then you're better off using a tune that feels like you're "driving on ice" for example drag tires pumped up to the max so it's super slippy and you can hold the handbrake a lot. I should be uploading a video in the next couple days showing some online drifting so be sure to check that out. I hope this helps

@llllachy if you want to tandem, you will need to make all cars handle about the same really, you'll never get a good run if all the cars are built differently. But to answer your question to make it faster put gripper tyres on, lower the pressure in the rears and more power and if you try to hold a little less angle that will also help you push forward faster
on a lot of corners i end up going way too wide and drifting off the road. is this because im going too fast? any tips? also the strip that you are using seems to be completely surrounded with shipping containers now
Try using the main break more to slow down a bit. Also try adding more grip to the rear. So wider tyres, less pressure in the tyres. Even try changing the tyre type so try drift or sport tyres or something to add more grip overall

I know it's an older video but I'm a seasoned drifter amd started my journey in the FH3 parking lot and 2 things I can't do is reverse entry and 360 drifts. Can't figure it out lol
@garyverhoeff9310 throttle is RT use right index finger handbrake is A use right thumb. The revs go up because of holding the clutch. This is done automatically if using manual without clutch
I'm trying to build a '98 Supra for drifting. It's RWD and it has 1200 hp. Is this too much if I'm a novice drifter or should i take the power down a little until i become proficient? It's easy to get into the drift but it's a bit hard to hold the line or get a balance of power/weight/balance without spinning out or pulling out of the drift.
Yeah exactly lower the power first then if that doesn't work, add more grip on the rear wheels by adjusting your tune. If that doest work Try the M4 in the video as this is a perfect car see how you go :)
Great tips, have you ever tried going with a manual w/ clutch, coz in drifting clutch also plays a decent role? I could be wrong? Anyhow, main reason to comment is, you seem like a cool guy to play with for a race or 2, let me know if you wanna hangout in forza?
@gabangang I have yeah but there's no need to really on this game with a well set up car :) yeah dude maybe one day, I've stopped playing fkrza I got a little bored of it
I personally like to run AWD cars over RWD cars because it allows me to have more control and higher speed while drifting. RWD cars always feel slower and less controllable at times to me for drift. It definitely comes down to personal preference.
Id say you're using too much throttle or a car with too much power with not enough grip. first up try letting go of the accelerator as soon as the back end comes out and turn into the drift. for example turn left when drifting right. if that doesnt help try and download one of my drift tunes. :)
Appreciate the video and the help for us just starting at trying to ’really’ drift. Rather than using the longest ? most difficult? drift track though, can you use the same car for the Horizon Mexico drift track and show us what you can get there with it. What a fucking beast video man, thank you a million. short and consise, straight to the point, excellent learning curve.
Top Comment Bro Thank You!!!
hey bro this video helped me alot with drifting and i was wodering how you got that colour on the bmw?
hey dude im glad it helped. if im honest i dont remember, but some of the special colours and metalic colours you can fine tune with Y on the controller i probably used that
Great Explanation! Im gonna start practicing. I will update the progress here. Subbed❤
Hey! Any update yet? Would love to hear how the vid helped you
What car do you recommend for beginners to be drifting in
Honestly try this M4 and my tune for it it's so easy to drift. If you're not a fan of the M4 try the new nissan z. I've made a couple of best drift car videos check em out :)
@@Shane-o thx a lot will definitely check them out 👍
can you do one with the bmw m2 2016? it dose help tbh
I know it's an older video but I'm a seasoned drifter amd started my journey in the FH3 parking lot and 2 things I can't do is reverse entry and 360 drifts. Can't figure it out lol
thanks for the car its soooo good
No worries dude :)
I just started but how do u get the bmw m4 coupe? I really want it
it can be bought from the auction house or from the autoshow for not much money :)
Keep drifting and you will improve
I absolutely love this car
Glad I could help 😌
This helped so much
hey thanks bro glad it helped :)
Hi bro, do i need drift tune to drift a car or any stock car can drift ?
Any stock car will drift as long as you turn traction control off
@@Shane-o thanks bro.
how do you hold hold the a button plus throttle ?
@garyverhoeff9310 throttle is RT use right index finger handbrake is A use right thumb. The revs go up because of holding the clutch. This is done automatically if using manual without clutch
Great tutorial!
Thank you dude
thanks!
What are some good cars for drifting other than the car in the video and Formula Drift cars?
All rwd BMWs nissans like the 240sx Sylvia's and the Z's lots of mazdas there's loads really
Easy on the throttle too!
Just beat my pb with this vid thanks man
Glad it helped dude
@Shane-O thank you my friend
What is the full tune for the beginners tune
@@Andys_cars it's in the video
@@Shane-o oh well thank you
@Ninja_onyt if you'd not skipped you'd have seen. Sorry mate it's in the video
Every time i hit the hand break it either throws my back end out or slows down my drift. I don’t get it see how it’s making you go wider
You need to turn the wheels the opposite way at the Same time. Your car has too much grip if it slows you down too much
Hey man I just over steer sometimes with my R34 is that cuz my car?
Or how should I help it?
Id say you're using too much throttle or a car with too much power with not enough grip. first up try letting go of the accelerator as soon as the back end comes out and turn into the drift. for example turn left when drifting right. if that doesnt help try and download one of my drift tunes. :)
Appreciate the video and the help for us just starting at trying to ’really’ drift.
Rather than using the longest ? most difficult? drift track though, can you use the same car for the Horizon Mexico drift track and show us what you can get there with it. Gives me something to aim at that doesn’t take 10 minutes per try lol. (Giro Encorvado track)
yeah I've been meaning to make another Forza video (currently caught up in the new call of duty) ill try and include that track I hadn't thought of it like that, cheers.
Also cool bike videos! I'm a bike guy myself got an 08 R1 :)
great tutorial for a difficult concept !
Thank you
