  • This video is an overview of the cold-weather installation method for CertainTeed's Flintlastic SA (self-adhered) roof system.
CertainTeed performed numerous field and lab tests to validate this new manufacturer-approved installation method, which incorporates use of a Leister gun or hot air welder gun on elements such as side laps and end-lap details, allows for installs in temperatures as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Traditionally, contractors installing Flintlastic SA roofing were required to install the systems in temperatures of 50 degrees Fahrenheit or above.
By improving on this weather-dependent installation window, CertainTeed frees installers to take on more self-adhered roofing projects and keep crews more productive when temperatures drop.

??? Is there a way to evaluate a failure causes? My 2015 roof is sliding down on the front (south) side. It's now about a three inch overhang and the seams above it are coming apart.
    What's the possible causes?
What's the fix? Is the whole roof compromised or is there an easier fix?
    Thanks for a great video.
Our location: Central Florida weather zone 9B.
In 2020 the roof looked fine when inspected for any weak areas.

You need to make this so a person does not need to spend hours on their knees. Very bad for the knees.

Yuuup. That's roofing. Losing your knees is part of the occupation.
