- Опубліковано 14 лют 2018
- Welcome back to AVC Sessions, our series where we bring in an artist, band, musician, singer, rapper, etc. to perform three of their tracks. This week, we’re sharing songs from Ezra Furman, whose latest record, Transangelic Exodus, was just released last week. In the final video from the session, Furman performs “Suck The Blood” from that album.
she’s so talented 😍
Grossly under valued by the mainstream this guy. An absolute talent.
Absolutely......I'm Lilly Alanon, i'm peaches and tampons. i'm Lilly Alanon........
Indeed
god, somehow this live version better is even better than the album track, which was already perfection
True, whenever it comes on over spotify, I pause it and play this video instead!
YES. It's super raw, rawer than the raw studio recording. And that suits the song really well. The sound of the whole band is great but his voice is just phenomenal, puts it over the top.
I totally agree. This performance is perfect
Ezra is a living genius. I’m so in love with this person and music.
Love Ezra’s music, also that dress looks fantastic
Ed Balls on Sax. Good to see he has found a career after Parliament.
heh heh heh
you said "balls"
the resemblance is uncanny
He wore that dress when I saw him 😍😍
Might go down as one of the greatest artists of this era.
My favourite song of 2018 so far, and I can't imagine anything surpassing it. Amazing version.
Have you no heard Wiggy Giggy?
Yes
agree
first song i've heard from Ezra Furman. Very Very Impressed
the only thing better is track #9 off the same album ... "love you so bad"
this song is a god damn masterpiece
Am I the only person who imagines Tom Waits singing this song in my head?
Heard this on BBC6, they play it alot! Adore it...
this is so perfect. ezra is a force to be reckoned with and phenomenal live
little springsteen + a little Squeeze on the side = whole lot of FUN!
Literally perfect.
so f***ing amazing. im very much an out sider looking in but I am so f***ing blown away by this and a lot of Ezra's work
The man is outstanding, fucking brilliant.
she is a transgender
i am in love with her
A truly outstanding performance. Word of mouth's gonna make him a big star.
Talented to say the least would be an understatement.
One of my favorite things on UA-cam at the moment. Simply amazing. (yeah, and it's a rewrite of Dylan's "Hurricane", but who cares....)
The production is amazing. I follow Ezra Furman on SC
wow. love it
transangelic exodus is such a good album
This is the best song ever.
This song is saving my life rn
Stunning
Is this the best live performance of all time?
queen
That was perfect! : )
Chills
Prince, Bruce Springsteen, & Bob Dylan had a baby.
And Lou Reed was the midwife.
How awesome is this?I'm dying
why is he so underrated?
A Bruxelles le 20 novembre j'espère y être...
i mostly listen to rap but im in love with his music anyone have any recommendations for me i need new music like this
3:42 when sugar daddy gives me that look
'Let the law pronounce it's petty assertions, they've been outsmarted by a couple of urchins'....take a bow. Up there with 'now I guess I'll have to tell em that I got no cerebellum'.
“This is the story of The Hurricane...”
Yes, that occured to me immediately too. Also reminds me of 'Maid in Heaven' by Be Bop Deluxe, from about the same time as 'Desire' LP, 75/76.
Still good, though. I'll go see him in Glasgow in May. Need to gen up on his work in the meantime, though .
...or Sweet Jane
Yes! And the lyrics are really similar to Mountain Goats in some ways
I'll miss the playground and the animals and digging up worms...
I heard him for the first time today in a coffee shop and thought, who is this brilliant punk pioneer from CBGB's circa 1974 who somehow escaped my attention? Then I asked the barista and found out...
I'm kind of a stickler meeseeks, They can trace phones that are turned off, you gotta take the battery out or wrap it in aluminium or Faraday cage. I'm also a paranoid meeseeks, I do all.
Fucking class
I’ve just been hit by a music bomb ❤
fuck this is good
i want that dress
Ezras voice is just perfect. He is great, even when stealing a lot (this here is a more than a bit "up the junction" of Squeeze). Stealing is re-combining the old stuff too sloppily. I hope Ezra gets all the popularity he wants.
Blistering. Never liked Springsteen but I love this.
McLovin on the piano.
He's pretty cool isn't he :)
Springsteen?
Play "come on Eileen" by save ferris
Go back and listen to Prince's "Glam Slam" - what do you hear?
Steve Williamson not this. The chord progression is totally different. Are you deaf?...
Although I do like it,I can't help but feel it's rather derivative of the wonderful "Time To Pretend" by MGMT....
was my first thought too but i can't stop listening to it regardless
eh, I gave it a quick listen, I don't really see it.
That's funny you say that. I was inexorably drawn to that song, too.
I love everything about this except for his pronunciation of 'deus ex machina'.
is he gayer bradford cox
Is this song about drugs????
no, actually. this song is the opener to a concept album about an angel and their lover running away across the country together. so these lyrics are as literal as it gets- the angel escapes from the hospital and they hit the road.
Everyone praising this guy and not realising he ripped off MGMT time to pretend. "brilliant" my ass. His other songs are good but this fucking song ticked me off so much because of the obvious rip off.
Ya must hate rap......All bands are hustlers......Ringo Star was told by his school music teacher to forget music....Two years later George Harrison was told the same by said teacher......
Guess your brain must've had an accident or something. Your reply has nothing to do with what i said. NOTHING.
What part of "hustler" in responce to your "ripped of" do ya not get Sid......Or do we need the colour crayons!!...
One of the comments above also noted similarities to 'Hurricane' by Dylan ('This is the story of the hurricane'). Also Sweet Jane. But, you know, all pop is derivative.
