Who in their right mind would not actively try to do everything to not have it happen anywhere they live? Or, if you are a conscientious human being, keep it away from others as well? How does Ezra think oil should get out of the ground and into his tour van or bus refined and ready to burn? is there some noninvasive way he has figured out? if he has a better way... well, it just seems he spends most of his time playing guitar, not experimental oil exploration.
you're missing the point. his argument is that no person should have the money or power to uproot communities and rip up the earth for the sake of profitability, not least an outdated conservative homophobe. his point isn't that fracking is bad, pay attention.
