Why is the notary filling out the document, specifically, the Tax Folio No., County, "This instrument Prepared by:", Fields 1, 2 and 3. The notary's job is to notarize the signer's signature on the document, not to fill in the document for the client.
Well, in NC, what I have learned is to notarize the signature without making all the questions they did at the beginning, and of course, we don't fill out the form or document. I have to have some documents notarized on my own, and I was never asked anything about it.
Im a little confused, as the notary do we fill out the document? I was under the impression that the document was to be filled out prior to the session?
I was under the impression, we are to ask them to fill it out for us and also telling them you encourage them to draw their signature shouldnt be said. Is there another Mock Notarication that is more serious and done corretcly?
In addition since the notary filled the document out is it the responsibility of the notary to make sure this has been filled out correctly? As a new notary I don’t even know what this document is. I thought I was just to insure that the person signing the doc was who they say they are? I’m so confused
i am a new notary and read through some of the comments and have some of the same concerns, confusion about notary filing out document vs. document filled prior to session, a more serious mock notarization would be helpful w/o the music is there a training on how to use the platform.
Hi Linda, There are hundreds of training videos as well as programs available for free on our UA-cam page as well as more in depth videos available in the BlueMastermind: RON + Loan Signing Agent Training & Certification: academy.bluenotary.us/courses/blue-mastermind
Understanding that it was just a mock training video for education and entertainment, this looked a bit like UPL in my opinion. Please advise to a best practice when a similar situation is presented on an open call. If the signer does not know what to fill in, do we cancel the session and ask them to try again? Will they be charged to re-schedule? My apologies if there is training on this already and I haven't watched it yet. Thank you and Happy New Year!
There is no charge to reschedule, however you should always operate within your local state commission laws and recommendations. We might suggest reaching out to our Facebook Support groups for further recommendations here.
I see the comments regarding this, but still some clarification. So the notary would not normally complete/fill in a form for a client, correct? However, additionally, a notary is not supposed to notarized anything with blanks left in it; all blanks need to be filled in, correct? So wouldn't that mean that this document, or any similar document, would need to be fully completed by client and or contractor before presenting it to notary for notarization?
I’m confused with this video. Isn’t the document supposed to already be completed and all we do is verify identity, review doc for blank signature , notarize and add our notary certificate as applicable?
Why is there music playing and no dialogue in some parts of this video? Also, is the notary filling out the form, or is the signer? I feel like it wasn't really clarified.
this video is outdated, because i tried to follow your steps and where you went to change to the oath is not there in mine. Where or how do i add it if I need to
at what point is the document "sealed" and can't be modified? Is it after some action is taken on the document while the signer is still on the session (like applying the Seal), or only after the session closes? I noticed he asked if there were any necessary changes _after_ he applied the seal and his own signature.
100%. This is recommended. These two videos go over how to do just that. General Pre-tagging: ua-cam.com/video/2EbSv73RdyE/v-deo.htmlsi=UiniEf7-_MJGfMRC How to Pre-tag before sending an invitation: ua-cam.com/video/SL0DHlrwaUo/v-deo.htmlsi=InZ3F6VkZrxUVPGQ
Hi - There is no "screensharing" that takes place. You both have access to the PDF at the same time while you are in session together. Does this make sense?
Hello! Great question! This is a mock notarization to demonstrate what the process with BlueNotary looks like so you can see the software. The client is responsible for providing the necessary information. They can do this prior to the session by filling out a form. During the session, the signer has the option to fill out the document themselves. Alternatively, at the notary's discretion, the notary can take the information and verify it while inputting it. The notary will also complete relevant sections such as the venue, date, commission number, etc. We encourage every notary to refer to state guidelines.

Hi - We would suggest checking out our "Handle Every Document" course for more detailed information on filling out specific forms and executions 👍

I as a notary would not fill out the document. because if it's done incorrectly ultimately it put you at fault.

This time frame is sped up. It's just the tagging portion. This can be done before a session as well.
this video is outdated, because i tried to follow your steps and where you went to change to the oath is not there in mine. Where or how do i add it if I need to
Hi Gilda,
You can add your oath by drag and drop the Notary Certificates item from your Toolbox to the session.

This will occur at session completion 👍
Are you able to tag the document prior to the session starting?
100%. This is recommended. These two videos go over how to do just that.

When accepting the call and script is completed, do you screen share with them immediately or do you screen share after you fill in the information.

Where in the session do you go to share the finished Document with the signer?@@BlueNotary
Is there training on the blue notary platform itself, on how to use platform?

Is it typical for the notary to fill out all rhat information on the document?
