Gutted for you mate. Next time you’re over this way try to squeeze in at the Yellow cross. If you can get a spot between the pier and the yellow cross and the tides below a 6.4 you’ll have a better crack at it. Avoid fishing directly opposite the cross though as it’s shaggy there also.
Cheers bud ill keep that in mind, i normally fish the bays and never had much a issue on the wall. This session taught me a valuable lesson that 50 yards can be so different lol Take care and Tight Lines.
Hello bud, yeah I have 18lbs mono main line and a 70lbs shock leader on both rods, as I don't cast no heavier then 7oz... the braid I use is 100lbs straight through.
Is that not what your ment to do. I normally wait a second or two till the weight hits bottom, then reel in the slack 🤔 Any advice is much appreciated, bud.
Despite what people say, I've fished Yellow Cross on 7 metre tides. It's no good casting straight in front when you have a tide running. I used to walk uptide, sometimes as far as 20 metres plus. Walking back to my tripod, I let more line out, then just sat the rod down, and let the tide take up the slack. I never liked it once the line looked down tide from where I was fishing. Let it go past, and it stops, its probably fast on something.
Well done, mate. We all live and learn.👍 All shared out for you.
Thanks for sharing bud, much appreciated 👍 Take care and Tight lines 🎣
Breath of fresh air to see Codling describing the Target Species .
Be even better to catch one lol my time will come 😃
Where you was fishing it is called snaggy corner.
Thanks for commenting, bud, and letting me know... I will not be fiahitht bit in the future, lol

Hopefully you have a shock leader on there @10lb per oz you cast. For the safety of you and others. A crack of can be very traumatic. M8.

you're on snaggy corner mate... I've lost a few rigs/leads there
haha Someone said that 1 hour before high water but it was too late at that point and i was commited lol lesson learned
You don't really give yourself a chance of holding by casting out in front of you, then winding in any slack.
