The infamous glowing puck! I remember watching this game, that epic Langdon-Kordic battle, and the looming playoff implications.

Langdon made Kordic look like the steroid riddled puckbag he really was… couldn’t skate or play hockey

Dan's brother John Kordic was the one with "substance" abuse issues. In fact, John was on record in Philly saying that he really didn't get along with his brother and didn't want anything to do with him. @@ddarrenturner

Make that Dan didn't want anything to do with John...you're right, he wasn't the best skater but he was apparently aware of John's demons...

And it wouldn’t be long before these two teams met in the conference finals that year, also nice play by Leetch to Karpovtsev (RIP) for the goal.

What a great game this was, though the only thing that sucked was Kevin Collins doing his best to ruin the fights!

Edge to kordic in that fight really close though- edge to probert vs Langdon- lots of respect to Langdon always a good scrapper and never a cheap shot player or showboat - I wish he would played for us red wings fan here

The game was so much better in those days. The perfect mix of speed, skill and brutality.
There were real rivalries then. Rivalries born from blood.
Today's rivalries are like the players. Soft.

Vin, I remember a PHI-LA game from around this era, in LA, Danny Lacroix and Matt Johnson had a battle,…have you done it already? If not, maybe…?

Love 70's and 80's Hockey, people would get arrested today and hauled out of the arena if that stuff went on. The first game I ever saw was Rangers vs Islanders(Rangers fan) in the mid to late 70's and there was a bench clearing brawl. I was mesmerized was a huge fan until Bettman screwed the die hard fan and went for a family audience , resulting in the same or worse ratings lol I still watch , but its like the players got together and said, "hey lets not check anyone" lol and when someone does, its like he killed somebody, and the guy gets challenged. Ahhh that was a check, thats all .

When my fellow flyers fans say Hextall was one of the best goalies we had in our franchise, I believe that they must have been on drugs or something. Hextall looks like a fish out of water
