I went on a cruise the week after a hurricane hit Galveston. They refused to cancel or send refunds so I booked the only flight into Houston and got to Galveston the night before. When my girlfriend at the time and I boarded we found out the ship was going to be at less than 25% capacity. Seven days in a mostly empty cruise with no lines, unlimited buffet, and enough liquor to drown a pirate. Best cruise ever.
I could see people not going right before, or during the storm, but a week after the fact? If I couldn't get my money back, damn straight that I'd be on that ship when it went to sea. It must have been wonderful without all of the other people around. I've never been on a cruise, but I've heard stories of drunk and disorderly people, fighting, vomiting, and in two cases that I heard about on either 60 Minutes, or 20/20, women being raped by drunken passengers. And seeing as they were in international waters, the cruise line said that they could do nothing. Between rapes, storms, pirates, getting trapped for weeks because your ships been quarantined due to an outbreak of disease, and the cost involved, I don't see any cruising in my future. And watching the clip of the ship floundering in those very large and scary waves, reinforces that tenfold. Have you cruised other times? If so, have you had any negative experiences. The cruise you described in your comment sounds like the only way that I could deal with it. While I like individual people I meet, I'm not a fan of the beast known as "The General Public". I hope you have a great summer and stay safe! 💛 from 🇨🇦
@@louisejohnson6057 it was my only time on a cruise. I remember thinking about what it would have been like completely full of families with screaming kids and shuddering. If I go again I’ll probably take one of the fancier cruise lines like Oceana or an adults only cruise.
@@louisejohnson6057 I think you may not be remembering things correctly. Crimes of any kind are always illegal, even in international waters. All ships sailing in international waters are required to fly the flag of their nation. Unless rape is not considered illegal in the nation where the cruise is from, then no one is getting away with it. It may be possible that cruise ship personnel would say it was a he said/she said situation with no proof, so they weren't going to do anything. They couldn't get away with saying they weren't going to do anything because it was international waters though.
@@michaelclarkson1376 Windstar has fantastic cruises. They’re a sailing yacht cruise line. No kids, only 150 cabins including two suites. So only 300 passengers. A personal butler for every room. And daily stops in the most gorgeous places. They also do a no-stop cruise in the Caribbean that offers more sporty activities on board, such as scuba diving and parasailing. The ship we were on had everything a larger cruise would have, just scaled back. And it’s all inclusive. Your ticket includes everything except alcohol and soda. Even 24/7 room Service is included. And you don’t have to worry about keeping track of your passport. They take them at the boarding orientation and lock them in a safe, then when you get to a port the customs ppl board the ship and stamp all the passports. Srsly, it was one of the best vacations I’ve ever had. We did the 7 day cruise from the port outside Rome, Italy to the port of Athens, Greece. It was absolutely gorgeous and super relaxing.
My dad was a school teacher, who back in the 80s was one of the teachers who took pupils on an educational cruise. They were allowed to go onshore and explore unaccompanied at some of the ports. At Venice I think it was, a group of teenagers from Dad's school were late back so the ship sailed without them. Dad volunteered to wait onshore for them. When they arrived back, they had to get into a tiny boat and be whizzed over to the cruise ship, where they had a climb up a rope ladder that was slung over the side of the ship. Dad had been in the Royal Navy in WW2, so wasn't remotely fazed. The 15 year old kids? Well put it this way, they were never late again! There are some photos of this incident somewhere in one of Dad's photo albums. Dad died a few years ago and I miss him very much.
My mom passed away a few years ago and we took a bunch of family cruises together and this video made me think of so many fun and funny memories of her. Thank you for sharing that story of your dad!
As a pianist, I was hired, with a violinist and a cellist, to go on a Costa cruise in the mediterranean. The sea was exceptionally rough during the whole cruise. The piano was tethered to a column in the concert hall. There were barf bags everywhere! People kept getting up to leave during one of the concerts, hands over their mouths. I turned to my colleagues at one point and said "I guess they don't like Haydn!" After the concert, all three of us pigged out in the dining room, which was mostly empty of passengers! I think that musicians' inner ears are heartier than those of most folks...
Did you know there is an old couple who actually live on a cruise ship? They did the math and figured it would be cheaper to live on a cruise ship than it would in an old folk's home. Now *THAT* is life goals right there.
My dad died on a cruise. He had a check up, doctor told him everything was great, three days into the cruise he had a heart attack. My mother had to move out of the cabin with just a change of clothes, because authorities would have to come into the room to investigate when they arrived at the last port and the room had to be locked up. She was given the option of disembarking at the next port and paying for his transport, but it was too much. So she stayed till the end. To their credit, the cruise staff looked after her every day.
The first Cruise I ever went on we were seated at dinner with a couple on their honeymoon...cut to 2 days later after a day at port in Mexico, dude comes to dinner with a huge black eye and told us how she beat him up and tossed his wallet in the ocean so the Cruise ship staff put her in a separate cabin and requested she take her meals in there while her new hubby decided whether or not he was gonna press charges. Fun times.
You are SO right about the performers there, Charlotte!! I went on the Disney cruise a couple years ago and watched their live performance of Aladdin. The boat, as you said, be ROCKIN and several of the ensemble cast would frequently drop their props, but they still carried on with the show and I applaud for their strength to not barf after flipping and twirling so many times!!!
As someone who worked on multiple cruise lines for over 10 years.. this video brings back too many hilarious memories & stories we all heard from other ships 🚢 🤣
When I was young I worked as a freelance tour guide for a travel company and heard stories about old people who had died while on vacation. Apparently quite often tour guides were usually more upset than the widow/widower, who often said "well, he/she died being happy". I also heard about the Swedish company making really exotic bus tours in northern Africa: on one trip a passenger got ill and passed away as soon as they got him to a local hospital. So... they just stoved him in the bus's big refrigerator and told the others "We left Mr Nilsson at the hospital, he''ll be fine ... and by the way, there will be no more cold drinks, as the refrigerator is malfunctioning".
Ive heard that older folks are choosing long cruise trips over assisted living facilities to spend the remainder of their days. As it is a much cheaper option. Im not sure hooow true this is, but I definitely believe it. I'd probably choose to die on a cruise ship over stuck inside an old folks home
Just as something to think about: what if you need a doctor? You can’t use your insurance you pay now. You can submit to insurance for reimbursement later. Office visits run $100-200. Plus meds. They don’t have every medication on board. Surgery you get airlifted off and do you really want to be hospitalized in some countries?! How do you get meds refilled? How do you get dental work done? How do you get incontinence supplies? How do you get mail or make phone calls do you know those costs? Can you afford tips every trip? Where do you pick up pkgs if you order from Amazon?
I'm sure this is true. Meals provided, laundry done, room service , services available. My friend had her knee done and went on a cruise with her husband to rehabilitate. She did her exercises in the pool, had no housekeeping to do, and there was plenty of entertainment. Perfect solution.
@@mircat28 well if they are on european cruise the medical bills would be hell lot cheaper then in USA, so even if they have to be on some hospital they would be happy with it.
it is so much cheaper. Like nearly half the cost. a good retirement home runs like 5 to 9k a month. assisted living like 3k a month or more. a cruise has a doctor on board, meds, food, and housekeeping. literally everything you need. it's not a bad idea.
My partner lives on a lovely houseboat in a marina surrounded by multi million yachts. I live with my dog in my two bedroom apartment and on the weekend we (the dog and I) escape to his place. On the water, watching the sunrise with amazing company. It's absolutely blissful.
Here's a story! When I went on my one and only cruise, my sister worked on the cruise so she told us the codes that were meant for crew. One night, we hear the man over board code. Here's what happened: There was a fight in one of the upper cabins and the drunk uncle was beating his nephew. Security went to go arrest the guy and he jumped off the balcony into the water. It was about 10 stories! We had to wait for the coast guard to release the ship, lost our day in the Bahamas, told not to talk to reporters, and never got a bit of a refund. When we were leaving the ship a little old lady said if the guy wasn't dead, she would kill him. They ended up finding him off the coast of Florida with a broken clavicle. It ended on a good note for me though! My bf proposed to me when he picked me up at the airport.
I went on a cruise to Bermuda when I was 16 with my family (I'm 44 and it still haunts me). Apparently there was some kind of storm in the ocean headed straight for us. It looked like a tornado but on the water. I remember trying to eat dinner and watching the water slop over the sides of the pool and then over the side of the ship. The doctor ran out of meds and people were just stuck in their room puking until we got to port. And a week later I ended up in the hospital having to endure many painful tests including a spinal tap because they thought I had meningitis. Nope just some mysterious disease I caught in Bermuda that raised my white blood cell count to 30K and a fever of a 105. Hospital for a week (quarantined from everyone else). Horse size pill antibiotics for 2 months. Never been on a cruise since.
I've had an unreasonable fear of tidal waves since I was a child and refuse to to get on a cruise ship still at 38. Thanks mom for letting me watch Poseidon Adventure when I was 5!!!!! It was horrifying!!
We used to play poseidon adventure in our pool. We'd see who could hold their breath long enough to get to the other side. Remember when they had to swim under water? That movie was terrifying to me too.
In his 20's (he is now 76) my dad was a civilian worker on a UK Navy Ship. He ran the 'shop' that the personnel could buy snacks, cigarettes etc from. They thought he was stocking the shop with the shutter down. Surprise he wasn't, he was late back to the ship and they left him in Hong Kong. The ship had to stop and the port authority boated him to the ship. Got in trouble but not as much as he would have been if he was actually in the Navy.
I’ve been on several cruises and really bad weather days were a nightmare for me, not because I get seasick but because I’m a fulltime wheelchair user. I was slip sliding even with my breaks on and had to anchor myself to something bolted down. It was good fun though!
I have a very specific fear of getting stuck in a tube slide. I always figured it was my imagination getting the best of me. My heart started to race after that girl didn’t make it all the way out!! I figure she got out fine, but it still caused me anxiety to watch lol
I'm Norwegian and I remember reading about that cruise ship off the coast of Norway, I felt bad for all the passengers onboard going through that. It definitely looked like it was almost gonna capsize.
As someone who lives in Norway, the Viking Sky thing was HUGE. like everyone was paying attention to the news for updates, I think the local hotels were giving out free rooms and stuff for the people who got saved, it was such a big deal you don't even know
@@saydvoncripps Dude, every map has the norwegian sea. First you localize Norway. If that's too hard, try for Greenland, it's bigger. Then look slightly to the right of that landmass.
@@judilynn9569 No, that was the captain of the Costa Concordia. That accident and a recent documentary was on my mind while they were trying to save the Viking Sky from capsizing/sinking. The Vking Sky lost their engines at the worst spot along the coast, famous among seamen for being a place you avoid as best you can.
I still think it would be fun to see if we could book an entire cruise with only Charlotte subscribers... but only if the Potato Queen graces us with her appearance! We could all sign a solemn vow not to get drunk and barf in your presence! 😉
Oh, I’d be down for that!!!! The Potato Cruise that cruises down from Canada to the Bahamas and back in spring or from Florida to the Bahamas in Jan/Feb would be awesome! Miss Charlotte do that! Pleeeeeeaaaaaase!!!!!
Bought back many memories of our honeymoon cruise that included 40foot waves, lots of puking, constant food and alcohol, and naff entertainment! It was the best holiday of our lives ! 😂😂🥰🥰
Back in the early 90's I so badly wanted to go on a cruise imagining moonlite walks on the deck, dressing up elegantly and going to dinner, professional shows and lazy days by a pool with my book. All I got was three days in a drunken frat house. Never again.
Your fault for not doing research on which cruise line to choose, departure location and school schedules Easter break for instance. Stay off Carnival and Norwegian cruises if you want to avoid drunken college students. Another genius who thinks once means always.
L.B. BEE : That was me in the '80s. My 2 kids were small, I wanted something to look forward to when they got older. I even wrote away for the Disney Cruise promotional VHS. Alas, it was never to be, he was in the navy, had no interest in a family vacation at sea. We did eventually take the kids to Disney World and Universal Studios, tho.
On the one cruise I have been on, we went up to the top deck at night. It was clear, there was a full moon and we seemed to be cruising right toward it. It was a beautiful sight, and I don't think I will ever forget it.
I worked on a ship. And it is so true that ppl go on ships and pass. There is a special code announcement when it happens. The crew know when they hear. I never saw the morgue though, I didn’t have the clearance for that area. I was fine with that. I’m glad that I never just ran up on it one day.
So, Charlotte is the person who makes everyone else's lifeboat drill last longer while they wait for, and then try to find, the missing people, before they eventually give up and finally let us go. Thanks Charlotte!
Went on a few cruises with my mother, once she couldn't deal with the packing and unpacking and trek of travel any more. We got back to the dock to see our cruise ship sailing away and we couldn't believe it! Had we gone through another time zone and f~+*ed up!? Well, it just so happened that a British TV holiday programme was filming on our ship and wanted to get film of the cruise ship sailing into port, so we were ok. But, I still remember the feeling of my heart sinking to my flip flops!
I was in the US Navy and when we went out on the carrier and hit rough seas it was more terrifying than on all other boats because it takes an ENORMOUS amount turbulence to make an aircraft carrier rock side to side. When that would happen one minute you are walking normally and the next you are now walking on the wall! It was so scary. Also we keep our dead in the same freezers as our food so be glad cruise liners have and actual morgue : ) And every day for FOUR MONTHS on ALL MONITORS on the carrier they play Titanic over and over without a break!!!!!! We got a really nice switch for a week where they played the movie about the cheerleaders robbing banks but they also played it 24/7 so those are two movies I will never ever watch again, I could probably reenact the entire movie of titanic without fail.
I confirmed my decision to never go on a cruise when Bill Burr suggested randomly sinking them to help control the population. This video helps to fortify my view.
3K more, Charlotte! I’ve been with you since the beginning, and I’m so happy for you! Seeing old videos of you from the “other” channel makes me soooo sad, because your eyes seemed lifeless. But now? You’re so joyful (even if it’s just a show for us sometimes), and your eyes are full of life. Congrats, Charlotte! 🎉
My sister thought it would be funny to show me the movie the Tiatanic for the first time the night before we set sail on our first cruise. My dad yelled at me the entire trip for crying. I was 13 and I don't speak to them anymore.
If that's their only offense, then I'd tell you to look outside your perspective and understand theirs. Cruises are expensive and crying over an irrational fear for days ruined everyone else's experience. It's not like your parents intentionally traumatized you, your sister was being a douche. Kids are so entitled, it's not all about you.
@@stephaniemitchell8509 If the parents were so uncompassionate to their child and they cut contact with them it was probably not the only incident like this. Also intentional or not, traumas suck and the parents were supposed to be the grown ups and look after their children. So maybe stop trying to justify actions of people you don't even know? OP's gonna have their reasons.
@@stephaniemitchell8509 omg that's the worst response 🤦♀️ a child was scared and your response is don't be mean to the adults, who know better, it's not all about you. Omg.
A group of us went on a 3 day cruise on a Ukrainian cruise ship, my friend got seasick within about an hour so had to go lay down, she started feeling better so ended up coming to dinner with us, it was a set menu and the first course was Bors h (beetroot soup) she took one look at it and seriously turned green and projectile vomited all over the table! She was mortified but the rest of us almost died laughing
This video reminds me of the time I went on a cruise and we stopped in Cancun, Mexico. When we were getting back on the ship, there was a young gentleman standing behind me sobbing. I wanted to ask what was wrong, but I was shy. Then, security came with a doctor and escorted him on board. My family and I later saw him sitting alone on the smoking deck, and I finally worked up the courage to walk over and ask what happened. He was very vague, saying something happened with the police, and as he was talking a security guard came and escorted him away again. The question still haunts me, what the heck happened in Mexico?
I've only been on one cruise, when I was in middle school, but man it was so much fun. I just went all over the ship by myself with friends I had made in the kids area. Got a milkshake everyday, went to the buffet for every meal. Only negative was the smallest shower I had ever seen, but I would totally go on another one now that I'm an adult and can go to more areas.
Have always thought cruises weren’t for me but just this last week I’ve been considering one. Now I see this video and I wonder whether it’s an omen telling me to stop thinking about it
@Simplicity cruising is great! Just pick the right cruise line for you and don’t drink too much!🤣 I’m impatiently waiting for my next one in September- been rescheduled several times cause, well, you know-2020!
We sailed on Viking Sky 3 months after this episode. Needless to say, ANY TIME rough seas were predicted, they stowed EVERYTHING that wasn't nailed down. That was our first Viking ocean cruise. We've done about 6 since then - and have 3 more booked. LOVE VIKING!
I would, as long as we don't go into the open ocean LOL. I will NOT EVER go in the open ocean (I'm a landlocked Canadian, from the same province as Charlotte).
@@Emeraldwitch30 I think I could handle that! Although Superior gets some really BAD storms & they've sunk several boats (apparently these storms produce a lot of rogue waves). I don't want to BE in the ocean (or the middle of a monstrously huge body of water that is like a mini-ocean!) but I read & watch everything I can about oceans/large bodies of water, LOL ... Maybe if we just cruised around with land in sight at all times I wouldn't have a massive panic attack, hahaha

While on a cruise in the 90's, our dinner mates asked why in God's name would I take a cruise since I was in the Navy and already served 3 sea tours. I told them I cruised because of the pillow mint every night...my commaning officers never put mints on the crew pillows at night. They were amazed and told everyone around them how horrible Navy cruises were😂😂😂😂
I had never been on a cruise ship before, or even on a boat on the sea..the closest I've been to the ocean is on the beach...so one day there was this decommissioned cruise ship anchored on a nearby port and it was repurposed as an event place for a book fair, and being the bibliophile that I am, of course I'm gonna go there and it would've been special too because it'll be my first time ever being on an actual ship...so long story short, I was on the ship having my fill of books surrounding me, one book caught my eyes and I read the first few pages and soon enough, I felt the ship rocking...it was just a gentle rocking, nothing extreme, and within the minute of feeling that I bolted out of the ship and sprinted to solid ground...that was the day I discovered that I could never go on any kind of boat on the sea because I literally cannot handle the seasickness 🤣
We were on a cruise for our honeymoon when I had to be removed with bilateral pneumonia. The weather was too rough for a helicopter so a coastguard boat had to come. After bumping down the stairway to the deck we watched the swells lift the small coastguard craft up and down about four feet. I finally said take the oxygen tank on board I'll make it on board. I made it and obviously lived through the rest. Haven't cruised in 20 years but it isn't because of the wonderful staff or coastguard.
My and my brother once go stuck in one of those tube slides. I live in Australia and it was a 40+ day, since the slide went outside the building the water evaporated and we got stuck and I honestly thought I was going to pass out for the heat and breathing in the chlorinated air. We scooched out way out in the end but I'm never doing that again.
Fun fact: Not ALL cruise ships have a morgue - if someone dies on one of THOSE ships then they use a refrigerator. Yes, one of the same refrigerators that they keep the food in.
I crossed the North Atlantic from Norway to New York on a Navy ship. When the list from Port to starboard is around 60°, Going down the corridors walking on the walls is fun.
Was in Navy 8 years ...on ship for 3 of them. My first time out was across a stormy Mediterranean sea, I got so sick 😫 but once you start drinking (not on ship but in general) that goes away 🤣
You can't skip you muster station (life jacket drill) ...... the ship won't leave port until everyone on board has completed it. It's easy as heck now....watch a video in you cabin....go to the Muster Station assigned to you....watch a crew member put on the life vest and they scan your card/bracelet and you are done.
I absolutely loved that show. I was a young teen at the time. The crew was awesome and I always looked forward to seeing the guest stars who were appearing.
Just got back from a cruise. It was a great time. Went with a crafting group, so a bunch of older ladies, on a line known for catering more towards the older aged cruisers. Was calm, quiet, and a great experience over all. Also, if you book your shore excursions through them instead of separately, they do NOT leave you at port! They wait for you to return before leaving, and the tour groups are great about getting you back on time.
We took a ferry a few years ago from the UK across to Europe and back. Going was fine, coming back was awful. Everyone was basically crawling to get round including the crew. We ended up getting drunk at the bar and was bouncing about. You jumped and landed about a meter away from where you were standing. I hated it but it still makes me laugh 😂
The last cruise I took was to Bermuda, and a hurricane ended up heading towards the Bahamas during our trip. We weren't necessarily in danger, but we left port early on the last day to avoid rough seas. As we were headed back to New York, I kept getting messages from friends/family asking if we were okay, and it was at that point I realized most of my them didn't know where Bermuda was in relation to the Bahamas.
The UTTER HORROR of the size of the waves in that Viking cruise clip sent my blood running cold and my stomach dropped hard and fast . I won't even get in the ocean past wading anymore bc I've been in too many instances where I'd just get pummeled by waves to the point where I couldn't get back up. So this is literal nightmare fuel 😰
That red thing was a speaker. It was also NOT his speaker. The owner says to his mate to be careful and not drop it seconds before the guy drop it into the ocean.
I went on a cruise with my sisters and parents years ago when i was like 13 . I enjoyed it for the most part but i do have my regrets. We got see dolphins, the mayan temples , and even go in a submarine. I still have photos from it all this years later. Fun times 😂
I was one of those people who went on a cruise during the Titanic movie craze and in the dining room they had a small little quartet of string instruments playing. They played My Heart Will Go On. While we were out in the middle of the ocean. At night. To which I jokingly mentioned it to my young waiter, who then regaled us his wonderful story of how on the last ship he worked on it actually got too close to shore and ran over some rocks/coral/whatever. Since he was an employee, he shared a small cabin down towards the bottom part of the ship with a couple of other guys and he had top bunk. He said around 2 or 3 in the morning he was woke up by a huge lurching motion and when he climbed out of the bunk bed, he was in water up to his ankles. Everyone was fine and got out okay, but wtf telling me this story with my 9 year old nephew next to me that I absolutely swore with my life that I'd never let anything happen to him while on the cruise. o.O

1:51 My BFF, year after finishing high school, went on a world cruise with her folks. When they came back, we went over to see pics etc. There was this image of their cruise ship, docked in Italy, with about 20 coffins on the wharf. I went "Hey did you have an epidemic?" and BFF said "nope, that's all the people who died out at sea the entire cruise; they keep them until home docking". Wow.
The first cruise ship is actually an older ship; however, they did renovate it a few years ago. I got to go on it after they redid a lot of stuff there. Great ship tho! Most of the time lol. My favorite thing to do on cruises is when we watch people hurry to run or make it back on the ship before it leaves.
One thing that I'd like to imagine about how a cruise would be, is someone or myself standing at the front of the ship in robes with a little extra fabric blowing majestically in the wind under moonlight or just one ship spotlight starring into the night, alone. But in a way that you look ethereal, like a maiden who lost their husband at sea 500 years ago.
I went on a cruise with my family once. I really enjoyed the motion of the ship. If I ever get to go again, I think I'll look for a smaller ship and ask for a cabin up front where the motion is most noticeable!
I’ve never been on a cruise and this validates it even more. 1. I get motion sickness pretty bad, so I think it’d be worse on a boat. 2. I can’t swim lol 3. The thought of a cruise ship wreck scares me. Hard pass.
That's me! I can swim a little, but I hate being in the ocean. I could never watch movies where people get stranded floating in the ocean, just like I can't watch footage of cave diving. I'm the only one I know of who didn't like the "Titanic" movie. Wasn't just the sinking, I just thought the story was dumb. The costumes were beautiful though!
Don't forget the norovirus outbreaks. And now we have to consider the environmental costs. I always wanted to go on a cruise when I was younger but couldn't in good conscience do it now.
Charlotte, I love cruising....haven't done any during the COVID craziness but looking to do some now that we have hopefully gotten past C-19. I think it would be fun to hang out with you on a cruise ship!
Everything I've seen about going on a cruise unless you've got $$ reminds me of being trapped in a bar I wouldn't want to go to on land. Let alone surrounded by water with no way of leaving.
One of my best memories is going on a cruise with my best friend when we were 17, back in the 80's. I turned 18 during the cruise.... but we had bought so much duty free liquor (In Australia here, they didn't check id's much and I'd always looked older ;D) and with lunch and dinner we'd buy the mixer soft drink cans lol..... then we'd sit outside our C deck cabin (ie. One level above scum of the earth deck lol) on the staircase and invite random people to join our party...... even the security guard did one night :D Best 10 days ever........ I think we slept an average of 4 hrs a day lol.....
I went on Carnival Cruise, Celebration when I was a kid. Great time. Went to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel. Being on the boat was great, all you can eat. Neat magic show, neat comedy shows. An awesome arcade. They had a kids group me and my sister went to with 10 or so other kids. nice small group, lot of fun. Great time.

That lady whose "friends" didn't show up - I hope she dumped the lot. One missing because of an emergency, sure. But all? Who would lie to someone for that long?
I had a friend string me along for a friend vacation for my birthday. It was for a milestone birthday and I started planning this YEARS in advance to give people time to plan and save up and change their mind if they needed to. She was all on board with the idea, I updated the group chat with the cost of everything and she was like, "yep! Can't wait!" and then, after confirming with everyone that they are in, giving them their last chance to back out before I booked it later that day, got the go-ahead from everyone, I booked it and a few minutes after saying, "It's all booked!" she said she can't go because it's too expensive. She had YEARS to back out. She knew the cost well in advance. I let everyone know exactly when I was going to book it. I gave everyone a fair warning to back out before I booked it. The whole time she was all in. And she cancelled immediately after I said it was all booked. Worst part is, I don't have a lot of friends to begin with. I ended up having to cancel the trip completely. Only one friend still wanted to come, but then she kinda stabbed me in the back so...
That had to be fun! I’m so happy you had a great time!
Even 24/7 room
Service is included.

That's a great story.
I'm sorry for your loss but I'm glad you have such a great story of him to share with others!
My mom passed away a few years ago and we took a bunch of family cruises together and this video made me think of so many fun and funny memories of her. Thank you for sharing that story of your dad!

I'm sorry you lost him but what a nice way for his memory to live on 💜💜 that's a cute story, and sounds like a memorable adventure to me
As a pianist, I was hired, with a violinist and a cellist, to go on a Costa cruise in the mediterranean.
Apparently lots of people do it. Middle aged people, not just retired.
Yes. Very common. Cheaper and often better treatment.
Now that’s a fine idea!! … 🤔🤔😊
I'd be happy to do that if only I didn't get seasick standing on the beach...
One older couple who lived on a cruise ship, even had their little dog with them
My dad died on a cruise.
Fun times.

What??!!
At least they tried to bring the body back…
I wonder how many of the passengers put two and two together?
Your editors deserve more praise then we give them. You’re hilarious and their pictures and captions just enhance the comedy 😂
@@mircat28 They wouldn't. They book the cruise with intention on dying there. You make very good points though 😄
That was a wild ride
wow.. but congrats!
So.... The best thing was when you left the ship... Yep, Im still not going on a cruise...
if you are not crew I don't know how they could stop you from talking to reporters

Maybe his partner died onshore?

While on a cruise in the 90's, our dinner mates asked why in God's name would I take a cruise since I was in the Navy and already served 3 sea tours. I told them I cruised because of the pillow mint every night...my commaning officers never put mints on the crew pillows at night.

So excited for Charlotte reaching 1 Million subscribers soon!!! 🥳Congratulations you deserve this and many millions more to come!!! 🎉💖🥂👑🎁🥳
Less than 5k subscribers to reach 1 million . This week is going to be very special for all of us . 🙂
and DONE
The UTTER HORROR of the size of the waves in that Viking cruise clip sent my blood running cold and my stomach dropped hard and fast . I won't even get in the ocean past wading anymore bc I've been in too many instances where I'd just get pummeled by waves to the point where I couldn't get back up. So this is literal nightmare fuel 😰
That red thing was a speaker. It was also NOT his speaker. The owner says to his mate to be careful and not drop it seconds before the guy drop it into the ocean.
That sucks. I’d never let a drunk handle my expensive stuff.
It wasn’t just a speaker…if you look closely at the slow-motion replay it also had a phone plugged into it!
Can we just stop a moment and bow to your editor(s). Amazing work. So funny, so talented. Also, hi from Vancouver. 🇨🇦

Everyone was fine and got out okay, but wtf telling me this story with my 9 year old nephew next to me that I absolutely swore with my life that I'd never let anything happen to him while on the cruise. o.O
Charlotte's editors are always 🔥. The content and her reactions are hilarious but you people really know how to make it the bestest (superlative of superlative haha), intro got me 🤣🤣🤣 Surely, 1M for Charlotte's and team's hardwork! Almost there ❤
You’re almost to a MILLION! 🥳🎉 I’m so proud of you! You deserve it allll! ❤️
I would totally LOVE going on a cruise with you Charlotte and the lovely lady who ended up alone, plus as many of the Potato Queen clan that wanted to come along, it would be so much fun!!!
I second that!
Book it and I’ll be there!
I am thinking that an entire cruise ship taken up with the Potato Queen Clan would be epic. I’m in my late seventies and ought to know better, but I would be totally up for it.
@@lap8329 we would all love to have you come on the Potato Queen Cruise of a Life Time! We just need to convince Charlotte that we really all should go on a cruise together now,...
@@jodyknight They keep assuring us that we get wiser and more sensible as we age. You’ll be happy to know it is not necessarily true. I’m not sure I could keep up with a good party these days, Woodstock was a long time ago. But I could give it my best shot.
1 MILLION!?! YEY Charlotte! Been a fan for a bit. You deserve this you beautiful hilarious potato!
I am absolutely terrified of the ocean and these videos are a big part of the reason I'd rather die than get on a cruise.
Me too, the ocean gives me the heebie jeebies. I'd rather get a root canal than go on a cruise!
I love the ocean!
Oh Charlotte there must be an entire series in this theme!
The way you edit your face into photos kills me everytime!😂😂
Haha, some hilarious videos there. That one with the horn blasting away would be enough to get back off the ship!
Keeping me entertained in the emergency room 💃🏻 thank you Charlotte
Feel better 😊
Good luck and feel better soon
Feel better!!
Get well soon!!!
@@CharlotteDobre oh my gosh thank you 🥺💖
She puts some of the arts in the background ! So cute !
Does the day even really begin if you don't wake up to a video from our fav potato queen?!?
What time u wakin’ up hun?😜
I was a sailor in the navy. There's nothing like the ship rocking you to sleep in the night.
You are so close to a million, charlotte. Love watching the number go up
I went on a cruise with my family once. I really enjoyed the motion of the ship. If I ever get to go again, I think I'll look for a smaller ship and ask for a cabin up front where the motion is most noticeable!
Not me getting an ad about a cruise before the video started 😂
On the large ships they usually have stabilizers. Most of the time you can't feel any motion at all.
I was terrified of boats when I was younger, but once I learned how to swim that fear was gone
Congratulations Charlotte for making 1 million Subs that's amazing we're so happy for you! ❤️
I'm trying to envision a 2 years old Charlotte running for her little life as soon as the horn blowed. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
She must have been the cutest little dumpling ever! I hope she shares pics of her as a child sometime.
The titanic scene had my dying 💀 🤣 I freaking love you woman.
Charlotte, I love cruising....haven't done any during the COVID craziness but looking to do some now that we have hopefully gotten past C-19. I think it would be fun to hang out with you on a cruise ship!
Congrats on the million-plus subscribers‼️
I may be a little late, but the guy dropped his flip-flop overboard in the video you were unsure about😂
Everything I've seen about going on a cruise unless you've got $$ reminds me of being trapped in a bar I wouldn't want to go to on land. Let alone surrounded by water with no way of leaving.
I miss seeing you daily, I'm going back and watching old videos, lol. Love you bestie ❤❤
On your way to 2 million now Charlotte, slaying it! ❤
The potato on the boob killed me
I went on Carnival Cruise, Celebration when I was a kid. Great time. Went to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel. Being on the boat was great, all you can eat. Neat magic show, neat comedy shows. An awesome arcade. They had a kids group me and my sister went to with 10 or so other kids. nice small group, lot of fun. Great time.
I should show this to my brother. He’s going on a cruise in a couple of weeks. Then show this to my mom because she has always wanted to go on a cruise 🚢 😂
I love how Charlotte says hey everybody welcome 🤗 back
That lady whose "friends" didn't show up - I hope she dumped the lot. One missing because of an emergency, sure. But all? Who would lie to someone for that long?
I wonder if those 'friends' set her up. How sad. I really hope she met some fun people and had a great time anyway.
Does suck but she ended up with a private cabin and they lost their money.
@@happychaosofthenorth I'm so sorry. You were done dirty. It's hard to trust people after that.
