Surprised to see the comments about sizing. I have 7.75" wrists and the Berny is just about the perfect size for me personally. I know many enthusiasts are concerned about wrist presence, but I've often found that understated watches present much nicer and are more practical
Thanks, Wes. I just received my Boderry Field watch. I really like it. However, the titanium bracelet is of very poor tolerance. I could hardly remove the pins . For sizing. And can not reinstall them! I'm waiting for a reply from the Boderry customer service. Thanks for another great video. 😊
Not the tolerances imo, all of my titanium watches are this way for some reason. Bottom line, you need the right tool for the job and unfortunately the one that Boderry gives you is garbage. I used my pistol grip style push pin pliers and had the bracelet adjusted in a minute or so after struggling with the included tool
Even before watching this video, I had bought both watches, for the simple reason that they have similar qualities and correct prices. The Boderry is more expensive and heavier, but you get the best automatic movement in it available now, while the mechaquartz Berny will need, soon or late, a new battery. So both watches are interesting in various ways or circumstances.
I hear a rattle when I shake my Voyager lightly. Was it always there and I did not notice? I had it for 7 days and it has been -4 seconds per day. Pretty good. The rattling sound worries me.
I'm little confused because of nh35 automatic movement in boderry voyager and berny looks like seiko snk809. Both are looking pretty. Plezzz.. Suggest me which one should I purchase? Sir, if you know any coupon code please tell me
I like them both but the Boderry is just too big especially if on a bracelet as the lug2lug goes overs 50mm! Pity cos the Boderry looks unusual and funky. I have just bought the Berny in dark blue, sterile dial. I think the classic looks will wear more easily once the initial excitement has worn off. Been looking for a wearable, affordable and simple titanium watch and the Berny sounds like it will fit the bill nicely. Thanks for a great comparison video.
Thanks Wes. I have the Berny and gifted one to my son. Titanium & Quartz is thin & lightweight. On a leather or nylon strap it is lighter and very comfortable. Good review. Thanks.
Interesting comparison 👍 . I have just ordered a Berny in the sale, but I went for the full lume Sinn style dial version and a strap as I'm not a fan of bracelets. From the comment above about sizing, it sounds like the strap is the way to go.
Great Video ! Went for the Boderry Titanium Automatic watch for the Field Watch look ! Changed the strap to the NATO-TM strap that is thinner and not as stiff that I had ! Added the Suunto button clip on compass for my watch EDC ! My Timex Expedition digital watch set for 24-Hour mode the Indeglo button FAILED... A Titanium Quartz watch with Solar (Capacitor or Lithium-Ion battery ?) with Tritium on the Field Watch dial and South of $300.00 USD/U$D would be a good price... tjl
I.bought the Boderry off their website. One of these days it wlll make it to Canada. Frankly I don't think either would be a mistake. I'm a little flamboyant too.
Of course it should be mentioned that the Berny copies the Seiko5 SNK's design. Would be good if it had the same screwdown caseback although it has a higher WR rating than the Seiko :) I love my SNK but the Bernie is way more affordable.
I have traditionally had a binary mindset when it came to choosing a dial color. But after watching this, it made me wonder if perhaps there may be an advantage to a green dial for a field watch? For example, they say you would use a green tint sunglass lens if you seek to reduce glare. What about other factors? EG: let's imagine you are hiking in a forest of green trees all day, and you look at your watch. I wonder if because the cones in your eyes have adjusted to green, perhaps the green dial would not require any 'micro' adjustments on the part of your eyes and therefore be quicker to read? Anyway, as I already have a white dial with tritium hands and chaptering for night, and a black dial Seiko 5 Sports for day, I'm tempted to order this Berny with the green dial.
@@weswatches I did end up ordering a green one that I primarily will use outdoors this summer. Although I understand why some long distance hikers shave their armpits and toothbrush before a long trip to save on weight, and I'm not a young buck like you, I find I can still get through the day with my 144 gram Seiko with metal bracelet all day and still lift a 400 gram beer with that same arm at the end of it all. So now I'll be able to drink 500 grams of beer if I use this watch instead. I guess come Sept., I will have to report back!
The Berny looks better to me. However, the screw down crown and case back on the Boderry are the true winners. Field Watch to me means the ability to survive in harsher environments and take a bit of a beating. Sapphire crystal and a slightly raised bezel will aid this. Can we get durability out of a G-Shock? Sure, but they are F*&@ ugly, IMHO. I'll be buying the Boderry after the Holiday blackout. Maybe the Berny at some point as a casual dress watch (it does have a much thinner height after all). As for busy dials. Um, I'm thinking of any Citizen with a tachymeter, or any other 'pilot' watch with useless international cities and text plastered all over them.
The clincher to me is the price and the lugs. Berny = better price (of course the movement and water resistance makes a difference). I am also not a fan of the shape of the lugs on the Boderry.
@@weswatches agree ... and that is the point of Aliexpress watches in my opinion - value for money with the look of an expensive (often financially unobtainable) watch.
The Boderry looks great…in pictures. It wears like a monstrous brick! The beefy lug to lug is just massive and looks pretty silly on me. I’ve had the Berny on my list and need to pull the trigger.
There's something weird about the numbers on the Berny and I've just noticed it watching your video. The 0 doesn't look like it goes with the other numbers. They should've chosen a slightly different typeface.
Great comparison! For myself with an 8" wrist there is really only one choice, the Boderry. The Berny is sweet but would look like a ladies or kids watch on me
Boderry is almost a copy of the Bertucci watch with improvements . I like it fine..
Surprised to see the comments about sizing. I have 7.75" wrists and the Berny is just about the perfect size for me personally. I know many enthusiasts are concerned about wrist presence, but I've often found that understated watches present much nicer and are more practical
Thx for the insightful comment 👍 I definitely agree

Oh wow.. Unexpected! Thx for the feedback. Hopefully they'll sort it out for you

The Boderry is a field watch. The Berny is a Pilot Fleiger style watch. With a date complication, I'd take the Boderry.
Fair

Boderry lugs are a no go at 49mm. Auto vs VH31 is also a no contest, Berny will be 30 times more accurate. 😮

Sounds great!

For the larger wrist circumferences 💯
I also bought BERNY with the Sinn 556 style on the black dial.

Good choice!
Quartz vs mechanical and field vs Flieger; it’s an apples and oranges comparison. A Hamilton khaki showdown would have been better.
I'm getting boderry voyager(nylon strap) just for 6200 indian rupees
And this berny watch(titanium bracelet) for 6500 indian rupees
How?
I got mine a week ago for the same price. Boderry voyager. Lovely light watch ❤
I.bought the Boderry off their website. One of these days it wlll make it to Canada. Frankly I don't think either would be a mistake.
I'm a little flamboyant too.
Lol 💪 it's a good watch for sure
Did you ever get the watch?
The Berny is almost a direct homage to the Seiko SNK805

Lol some very relevant poin5s! I'm an avid fan of foeld and military watches and always torn between the black and green dials

if the boderry's lugs were a bit smaller, I'd much rather its automatic seiko movement than the Berny, but went with the Berny

So what's the verdict? The Boderry or Berny🫣
@@weswatches I'd go Berny
If I were to choose, me too.. more value imho👌

Berny would look a lot better with a boddery like glass
I much prefer the dial on the Boderry.
More elegant
The Boderry looks great…in pictures. It wears like a monstrous brick! The beefy lug to lug is just massive and looks pretty silly on me. I’ve had the Berny on my list and need to pull the trigger.
The Berny is really good 👍
The Boderry lugs are much to big for the case
Thx for your feedback

Interesting
Now berny is around 90 euros..
You are comparing automatic watch with quartz :)
Well spotted.. I'm sure that's "mentioned" in my review😉
With mecaquartz
Great comparison! For myself with an 8" wrist there is really only one choice, the Boderry. The Berny is sweet but would look like a ladies or kids watch on me
True 👍
good luck getting it for 50$.
Tx
Feel the BERNY
