This was one of my favorite Disney movies growing up!!! Although, when I was little, I was scared of when Joe would jump out from the trees and when he crashed the party. I also was scared of the opening title sequence with the drums at the beginning. I was 3 when the movie came out. My mom also got me a little mighty joe young plush because I love the movie so much.
I wasn’t even born when the movie came out, but I loved it when I was a kid. But I lost the VHS tape and I couldn’t watch it for a while until I got the DVD. Now Disney+
Forever a classic!!! I was born probably 4 before the movie came out and watched it constantly! They were feeding Joe ALL TOO WELL 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽. Even the leopard 🐆 was looking like “You’re Not Serious 😧😱!!!”
When I was little, when he was in that semi truck with the holes, I'd say look mom, it's the Mighty Joe Young truck. I still think that every time I see one of those trailers on the road. This movie is just a timeless classic that I will love forever
2:18 Gorilla the size of an Elephant!? Id be terrified if I encountered a Gorilla of that size in real life and especially that close!. It doesn't even on its full silverback adult coloration on its back yet (probably a blackback young male) and it's already huge! Imagine a Gorilla of that size walking around in the Jungles of Africa.
They used a little CGI in the movie, especially in wide shots when they show Joe running. They traced the movements of a running chimpanzee to get the animation right. But in the close-ups of Joe, it's either a man in a gorilla suit, or a full-scale model.
Mighty Joe Young King and legend of Pangani mountains(Central Africa). 1:08 is the best when he jumps out the trees to let them know he rules that whole area. Exactly why i love Gorillas!
@@DylanXHammond6828 That maybe, but don’t forget that in life Leopards & normal sized Gorillas are enemies. But in Joe’s 15 FT case, an exception as a protector.
@@DylanXHammond6828 That’s what I said, 15 FT Tall due to the rare Gigantism & an exception for protecting any living creatures from Poachers. We all know O’Hara “Bill Paxton’s character” is a Wildlife scientist.
Even though some bad guys get hurt or die, like Strasser when Joe threw him into the transformer near the end, sometimes we can't help but wonder if they really had what had happened to them coming, even if they had hurt or killed somebody else. I'm not saying Jill and Joe should have let Strasser get away with what he did, but some villains are just too good to die (not good as in "protagonist", but good as in we like that that character is part of the conflict). I'm also not saying I felt bad for when his fingers were getting bitten off by Joe or when he met his shocking fate (pun unintended), and I'm just going to leave it at that.
And that my friends is where a rivalry usually begins, with the villain inflicting an emotional wound on the hero and the hero inflicting a physical wound on the villain.
Joe was one of the greatest Disney movies ever done . The Jim Henson company did a fantastic job

Honestly same! When Bill Paxton’s character Greg was in the forest by himself, I was so scared! Even though I’d seen it a million times 😂

Jill: Hang!
At 1:09 I remember being scared and excited at the same time when Joe jumped out the woods lol, good times in 1998 daycare memories!!
I used to be afraid of that scene too! I'm glad that I'm not the only one. I also used to be afraid of the scene where Joe crashes the party.
Joe: STRASSER!

The cheetah is even so scared of Joe at 1:16. The cheetah was probably thinking “ I don’t want any part of this “🤣
That’s a leopard
Joe: Go.
I love this movie my childhood is back I also like the way that the way they didn't use cgi in this film

Joe: 👌
He was a gentle giant
One of the rare times when the beginning of a movie was sad 😔

I love this movie too! Also, that part used to scare the crap out of me! I would always hide behind the couch!
Joe: I Want To Jump!
1:19 Joe's mighty roar when he stands up.🤩
1:52-1:56 How about that. Joe just freed the Leopard for O’Hara.

How the heck do you know the leopard is female
Plus leopards and gorillas are natural enemies but i like the relationship between Joe and the female leopard
Joe: Run 🏃♀️
I don’t know if it’s just me, but the part from 0:24 to 0:35 made me cry a bit. I’m guessing it’s the music.
I'm not running but, my bowels are .... l o l
joe. LEAVE MY ANIMAL FRIENDS ALONE
damn what he sounded like
2:04 How Exactly did he dodge the speeding Cage ?
That's a very good question but I think it's because Bill Paxton has very reliable plot armor
Greg: Now!
Is Joe's and jill best friends in this movie
I know Joe is a species of mountain gorilla, but he is like a living King Kong.
son of king kong
I am not moving but my bowels are😂😂
Regardless that Strasser is a poacher and a bad guy but I feel bad for him for loosing his thumb
M sizzle
