Maja Ivarsson was a part of the band "The Sounds", a Swedish rock act that conquered the world in the early and mid 2000ths. They had hits like "living in America" and "No One Sleeps When I'm Awake". She is probably the biggest and most creddy star in the lineup.
4:46 Linnea Henriksson was one of the hosts of Melodifestivalen 2020.
5:01 Maja Ivarsson is the singer of the band The Sounds, they've been touring in Europe, Australia as well as the US, with bands as Foo Fighters, The Strokes, Morningwood, Angels & Airwaves, +44, Mando Diao and Panic! at the Disco. Their most wellknown song is "Living in America".
5:27 Meira Omar has done a bit of Bollywood acting, and but is mainly a reality TV personality from Swedish Love is Blind
5:48 Erik Segerstedt has been to Eurovision twice, as a backing singer. For Sweden 2017 "I Can't Go On", but not on the threadmills, and for Russia in 2019 "Scream".
10:42 I think it's 10 people who has been in Dolly Style this far. None of the current members were around for "Hello Hi" and "Rollercoaster", but 3 of them were around for "Habibi", but there has been name changes, like a former Molly is now Yolly, because she was replaced, but then came back.
11:34 Malou Prydz was the one who did "I Do Me" and "Ballerina", I liked those. Bananas was trash though.
12:00 It's Andreas Lundstedt's 10th time in Melodifestivalen. I'm not 100 % sure, but I think that's 2nd best of all time. Ann-Louise Hanson has been on Melodifestivalen 12 times (with 14 songs, rules were different back then).
12:30 Loreen is one of the songwriters of Ella's entry.
13:20 Tennesse Tears competed in 2023, went to Andra chansen (or whatever that was called that year), came 5th and was eliminated.
13:34 Arvingarna are making their 7th Melodifestivalen appearace, Their Eurovision entry "Eloise" from 1993 is a bit of a classic in Sweden.
14:12 Saga Ludvigsson was one of the finalists of "Talang" ("Sweden got Talent" basically) in 2019. In 2023 she was on Swedish "Idol", and became the runner-up.
15:04 Victoria Silvstedt was a Playboy model back in the day, she was Playmate of the Year in 1997. In 2021 she was on Masked Singer Sweden.

I am a huge HUGE fan of The Sounds so Maja Ivarsson is of course my top choice! I usually only follow ESC but I will be paying attention to Melodiefestivalen this year. I really hope she wins. Also highly recommend listening to The Sounds! They're great!

I've seen a lot of people annoyed about Mans and John Lundvik returning, but as a fan of both, I'm really excited to see what they bring. I'm also interested to see what Klara, Tennesee Tears and Scarlet bring.
Previous winners are part of the fun. Always exciting to hear what new sound they have and if they are up for pressure

KAJ is a three member band from Finland! They’re from the Swedish speaking area Österbotten, and they always sing in Swedish :) They went big about ten years ago among Swedish speaking Finns, and have made some great songs along the years :D
KAJ uses a rare Finno-Swedish dialect that's hard to understand anywhere else in the Swedish speaking world 😁 A bit like singing in English, with a thick Glasgow accent :P

I will be with you cheering on Dolly Style and Klara in particular🫡 Also intrigued to see what Malou is bringing after her last attempt considerably failed and with a few more years of experience now.
Overall thoughts on the lineup just on the names alone is indeed slightly underwhelming but who knows maybe this could be a good thing… Picking a random name out from one of the many i don’t know and calling Nomi to be someone that surprises us😂
Hi Shane! 😊 Always great to hear your passion for Mello! 🎉 I can inform you that if most of the names were unknown to you, some of them were also to me.... and other Swedes 😃.
My favorites are Måns, Scarlet, Klara, John, Maja, Annika, Ella. But it's also interesting to see what newcomers like Greczula and Nomi can do. Love Andreas for the same reasons as you and Erik is a good singer (background vocalist to many other entries).
I don't understand the "hate" against Måns, if you come with QUALITY, which he most likely does, what's the problem? If Loreen got it, why can't he? He is 100% stable in singing and owns the stage. He himself says that this song is better than "Heroes", it should be anthemic and explosive. And then he has the super choreographer Fredrik "Benke" Rydman to help him this time as well.
Klara is rumored to have a real pop caramel. Scarlet is also said to have a good song. John's song is said to be an uptempo song. Ella Tiritello has a special voice, a taster is "For a better day" with grandiose orchestra. It will be very interesting with Loreen as a songwriter. Tusse is also a songwriter this year😄.
Super excited to see what the rock girl Maja delivers so many years after several successes. At the age of 19 Meira Omar moved to India, Mumbai to pursue Bollywood. Arwin is the youngest in the line-up. I see great potential in many of these names (not everyone🤨). The only question left is whether the songs give them what it takes to shine. See you later! 😊💖

Of the non Mello veterans, I would say that Linnéa Henriksson and Maja Ivarsson are the biggest stars. They both have huge name recognition in Sweden if you compare to some of the others. Victoria Silverstedt might have MOST name recognition, but not for music, more for the tabloids.
If The Scarlett song is anything like last years (they were robbed in my book) I will be mega chuffed, also looking forward to Andreas & Dolly Style.

@@ShanesEurovisionReview Yeah, as said, maybe "concept" is not the right word, better to use the word "vibe"? It almost looks like we're in a zoom meeting with you? Don't know if it's the setting or you looking more straightly into our screens more like if you're talking with us, instead of at us.
Furthermore, you seem more laid back, relaxed, more just a man with a mic sharing his thoughts. Giving your own personal opinion, as always faithful to what you like, but lately without excusing yourself all the time, enjoying (or not hahaha) what you see and hear and uploading a video when it feels ok to do so. I like that.
At the same time, as we're used to by now, sharing your almost professional knowledge that I highly apreciate (even if age is playing games with your memory😉).

Last season you just seemed stressed a lot and with a need to be updated with every event, every artist, and you seemed to be excusing yourself a lot for everything. Maybe that also made you talk at us from more like from a distance than with us, as I feel you do now. Weirdly you're now further away than you were then hehehe. And you speak more British now, which I absolutely love hahaha!
I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, the season has just begun, there is still time for stress 🙈, but it's a feel that you radiate I think.

Very few of Sweden's A-list artists and bands compete in Melodifestivalen. A majority come from talent shows such as Idol or former participants from the junior competition. Only a handful have a career outside of Melfest as established artists in their own right. The others don't get radioplay and doesn't chart in Sweden.
I was surprised to see Linnea Henriksson in the line up. As others have stated she doesn't need Melfest. There are probably 3 reasons for an established artist like her to participate: 1) Want to experience the Melfest-circus 2) The record company want to promote a new record 3) The artist/the record company wants to get a global audience.
For example, Zara Larsson loves Melfest and Eurovision but feels it isn't the right forum for her right now. The closest we've come to see her in Melfest is as an interval act and that has only happened once like 10-ish years ago... And the closest we've seen her in Eurovision was at one Eurovision pre-party show in Eurovision Village where she didn't headline it... I hadn't even known about if not for someone had filmed and uploaded her performance on UA-cam!
I've just started following the national finals season recently, and Melfest has failed to capture my attention but maybe this year will be different 😊💖

Linnea Henriksson really is the biggest name of them all. She has a huge following and many hits, established artist on her own. Which is why many asks why she need Mello? Exciting to say the least. Its like Adele would take part in a selection

Someone should host yearly bingo for "Returning Melodivestifalen singers and songwriters". On behalf of the (almost) entire Finnish Euorovision community i wish Måns's (and Lundvik's) visit will be as short as possible and we get new, interesting winner.
Im rooting for the humour music band from Finland singing about Sauna, sounds like the last song Swedish would choose for Eurovision. Therefore its probably going to be the best one. Not sure how that even managed to get accepted into Melodifestivalen 😳

Linnea Henriksson was the BIGGEST surprise for me. She's a very established artist in Sweden with a couple huge hits that have no connection to melodifestivalen. So it's gonna be fun to see how she does here, since more established Swedish artists barely ever compete in mello.
Sweden should send Omar Rudberg to esc. With good song and show, he could be the winner. Omar have many fans over the Europe (because of Netflix Young Royals) and people would vote him a lot, if song is good. I had some hopes, that he will be in Mellus this year. Moving like that was good song. This year, well, we will see 🙂 Thanks for your video. 🙂
