I think Georgia deserved to win for sure but I just can't imagine so many kids still voting for that sort of ballad-like song? I'd expect kids to just vote for fun dance vibes so I just thought it was odd that they ended up also getting quite a few points from the audience as well
The whole argument that "kids only vote for upbeat fun pop songs!" Has never resonated with me because there have been a lot of ballads winning in the past, especially in the 2010s (2012, 2013, 2014, 2016,...)
Too mature for JESC. Gaia from Malta had impeccable vocals but ended up last. The girls from Ireland looked in her 20’s. Sophie did amazingly because it was a child friendly Disney song and she was dressed as a princess.

Was always upset about Gaia and Carla, but they had the exact problem you're describing despite being good. You understand that when there are 17 contestants there has to be a nr 17 right? And a number 16. And 15. You want every country to end in the top 10, but that simply isn't possible.
Idk it's a weird system but supposedly the voting remains the same, it's just the way they give the points, they sum 1 points to all the countrues who scored 1 point and so on until the 10 points, then the 12 points are given normally
I don't think it was an actual idea that they came up with but rather a way of having to spend less money by generating artificial content rather than hiring actual artists which would cost more money. The EBU is fully money-driven. Just look at this year's Eurovision contest.
@@MrPoll-ESC this year both the esc and jesc were terrible. I am not talking about the songs and artists, absolutely not, I have so many favourites, but mostly the production was awful. For jesc France and Armenia served great shows for three consecutive years so I had really high expectations for this season as well, but they managed to ruin it. And i don’t even wanna talk about that terrible voting scoreboard, I hope they would change it back to what we had for all these years.
Yeah, totally agreed. It's a shame people are blaming RTVE because they barely had a say in what to do or what not to do. They literally were only allowed to choose the venue and the interval acts, that's what I've heard. The AI was made by people outside of Spain and the scoreboard was designed and imposed by the EBU. They are the culprits of everything that has been going on recently.

Idk it's a weird system but supposedly the voting remains the same, it's just the way they give the points, they sum 1 points to all the countrues who scored 1 point and so on until the 10 points, then the 12 points are given normally

I don't think it was an actual idea that they came up with but rather a way of having to spend less money by generating artificial content rather than hiring actual artists which would cost more money. The EBU is fully money-driven. Just look at this year's Eurovision contest.
@@MrPoll-ESC this year both the esc and jesc were terrible. I am not talking about the songs and artists, absolutely not, I have so many favourites, but mostly the production was awful. For jesc France and Armenia served great shows for three consecutive years so I had really high expectations for this season as well, but they managed to ruin it. And i don’t even wanna talk about that terrible voting scoreboard, I hope they would change it back to what we had for all these years.
Yeah, totally agreed. It's a shame people are blaming RTVE because they barely had a say in what to do or what not to do. They literally were only allowed to choose the venue and the interval acts, that's what I've heard. The AI was made by people outside of Spain and the scoreboard was designed and imposed by the EBU. They are the culprits of everything that has been going on recently.
