I started with PowerDirector 14 and bought the add-ons a la carte. By version 16 I was a convert and went to 365 and never looked back. Now I can't believe how much I rely on PhotoDirector too. Many of my photos become B roll material for my videos. The problem was that PowerDirector had many tutorials, and PhotoDirectoer was treated like a step child.
i have cyber power director 368 and photo . i tried to drag photos etc from google photo and get the x sign. how do i fix it so i can import from google photos to Power director 365

Hi - I don't understand the question. Communicates with the Sony? You should be able to pull the media card and copy files to your drive to edit them with PowerDirector. Help me understand your question, although I am admittedly not a Mac user.
So far I am not finding that this program is easy to use. Looking for good videos to help out and hoping this one will help me. I find that Cyberlink Power Director with video editing is easy but I am struggling with photo director. I really need tutorials on how to edit old pictures of people. Not landscaping.

Is this the photodirector 365 you are running or the Ultra version. I was thinking of trying the Cheaper version to begin with but not sure what all features I will be getting. Hi - the two versions should be the same in terms of functionality. 365 may have more graphics, etc. but in terms of the core program, both should be the same.

I have used PowerDirector 365 for many years but have pretty well ignored PhotoDirector (using an old copy of photoshop elements), I had no idea how useful PhotoDirector could be with features that I could pay for with other programmes (e.g. Luminar) with 365 already on my PC. I literally just started working with it in January - it's a very capable program, it's less expensive than PhotoShop and it has a much shorter learning curve. I've been impressed with it so far.
Thank you Jeff! I’ve had the suit for it’s video editing for a while now. Been frustrated with the photodirector module until I watched this. I was 1000 percent ready to abandon it for Lightroom and attempt to learn that. NO WAY would I do that now. This short video changed my mind! I’m editing like I wanted to in the beginning! Are watermarks created by using the text tool only? I’m a new sub to your channel now! Thank you again!
I understand how you feel. I will say that you get more with the subscription plan, and if you're someone who consistently updates your software, the subscription plan works out to be cheaper. But it took me a long time to accept the subscription model as well.

Hi Planet - glad the video helped! I'm biased, certainly, but I think working on a larger screen is always better than a smaller screen. When you're selecting things or moving the cursor to a specific frame, having a bigger screen can only help.

I downloaded photo director yesterday (on my pc) but every time I try to open a photo to edit, I just get a black square. Anyone know why this happens or how to fix this? Any input is appreciated. I also use photo director on my phone and have no problems.
I don't know the answer to this, other than to guess there is a problem with memory space on your PC. 1. Reboot your system to clean out stuff from RAM. 2. Try closing all other programs from running. 3. If that doesn't allow you to open the files, try opening a smaller file and see if it will open. That way you're at least isolating where the problem is. 4. Are you opening JPEGs? There may be an issue with the format of the file you're opening, although you said it worked on your phone. 5. Still no luck? Send a note to Cyberlink customer support. They're really good about responding to questions like this. Good luck!
The sky replacement was terrible. The program lost all of the props:( Same with the cutout. It selected the props in the cutout. Still nice but not a refined sky replacement or cutout . Nice tutorial :)
I LOVE Cyberlink! (Photo360) Ever since they installed the lastest big update, on the night of our last lunar eclips, I have been having big problems with exporting. Instead of exporting in 18-24mp, its taking my 18-24mp photos and exporting them in 900Kb and 1.6Mb at best. Have you encountered this?
Here's what is happening. Every time you save a file as a JPEG, the file gets compressed. If you opened a file and saved as a JPEG, then saved it again as a JPEG and again and again and again, ultimately, the file size would get really small and you would start to see degradation to the quality of the image. This is referred to as JPEGing a JPEG. JPEGs do this compression specifically to make the file small - it's a file format designed to be used on the web, where we want smaller file sizes to make them faster to download. You can adjust how much Photo Director will compress your image 1. Choose your picture 2. Select File menu, then Export Selected Photos 3. on the Photo Export screen, choose the Advanced tab 4. set your file name and where you want to store it. 5. Here's the important part. Under File settings, choose JPEG and push the slider all the way up to Better quality. The closer this slider is to Smaller size, the more the file will be compressed. 6. Before you choose Export, save your settings as a new Profile. From now on, when you export you just pick this profile and you'll have the right settings. 7. Now choose Export The file you create will still be smaller than the original, but it will be closer in size to the original than what you've been experiencing.

If you want to output a video for Instagram you can set up the project for the correct aspect ratio as shown in this tutorial: www.cyberlink.com/learning/powerdirector-video-editing-software/2513/a-pc-users%27-guide-to-uploading-videos-onto-instagram If you want to export pictures, you should be able to set up a video project as explained in the tutorial above, and then do a screen capture from that project to produce a still image.

Hi d - what screen are you referring to, and how is it different than mine? Note that the program has been updated since this video came out so there may be minor differences, but they aren't THAT different that i recall.
@@JeffSibelius Sorry I didn't respond sooner Jeff. I got sidetracked. Tabs showing in your screen were Library, adjustment, guided, edit, create and print. Now that I look at the picture I took of your screen I think you might be on Windows. I just bought a Mac a few weeks ago and have been learning how to use it, but maybe that's the difference? Although it shouldn't be. Anyway, my page just has Library, adjust and create.
On the timeline, along the left side is a section that shows track number, an eyeball icon for making the track visibile / invisible, and a lock. You may have to mouse over the right edge of this area and click/drag it to the right to see the lock. Click on that lock to lock the track. You can do that for any / all of the tracks in your production.
Ok, you sound like the Sharper Turtle guy. Loved all of those videos and taught me a lot about Power Director which I use frequently. I was about fed up with Photo Director until I came across this video. I was about to buy another program but now I have a better understanding and will give this another try. If you could do more tutorials (although this "review" is great) I would love to learn more about the program from you. Just love your teaching style. Thank you for your efforts....
You should point out at some point that the free version has a COMPULSORY WATERMARK. This to me renders the program and the last two hours I've dedicated to it useless.
I have a question, if you were to buy the lifetime purchase. Then some time down the line got another PC. Would you be able to redownload your purchase of Photodirector?
by "lifetime purchase" do you mean buying the program outright rather than subscribing? If so, yes - you would download the install file when you bought the program. Just keep that file. (I think you also need a registration number or something - they email that to you.) In the future, if you need to reinstall this on another computer, you can do that as long as your version of the program is compatible with the OS on your new computer. It's just like buying a program on a CD and installing it that way. You just can't run the same program on two different computers.

Probably because you're using the free demo version. That will always be watermarked. When you purchase the program you can shut off watermarks.

It's a free TRIAL version. You install this version to see if you like the features and interface enough to buy the program.
