Hi Rumade, great videos!😃 Just acquired a fibre glass pond from my brothers next door neighbour so was looking for tips etc Watching this has made me think about putting a video on my channel regarding the installation of the pond, so that is what i will do, looking to end of octoberfor start, need a skip as well. Know Slough well and i am in Aylesbury, so not too far. Looking forward to an update on your pond regarding wildlife , plants etc
Hi Ru My liner is approx 4 feet deep in the middle section😟 Got skip on tuesday, started digging on Wednesday but have to be careful as have a knee issue, so only doing 4 hrs at a time. Hell of a lot of dirt in the skip and now digging grey clay and have hit the water table , so extremely grubby🤣🤣 Will keep you updated with progress.👍
Thanks for advice Rumade. Going to make sure if fits in the very large hole and then slip sharp sand into the gaps. The liner is old style, so over quarter of an inch thick!! Going to keep some clay so that i can build up the plant ledges and make an access slope for wildlife. Regards kev
I usually have a lot of difficulty watching any video longer than 5 mins but I found myself wishing this one was longer!! Can't wait to see part 2!

@KB996 my greatest advice to you is to dig it a bit deeper than you need to. Ours is not quite level so the water does spill over at one end

Don’t forget to install a ramp of some sort or the animals to get out if they fall in by accident
There's a log for that!
bad for wildlife - creatures need shallow slopes for access and breeding. Young creatures need to be able to exit easily as well.
@CHatty-g2q there are logs for easy access in and out, and shallow areas created with bricks on the shelf areas but thanks for your feedback!
