Interesting introduction of the composer and also for this performance. I've found the profile of Nathan Laube because he will be playing in Saint Sulpice (Paris) at the end of the month.
Bravo Monsieur Laube.Très musical, expressif, énergique et on entend chaque note.C'est joué à un tempo que je pense parfait.Pas trop rapide comme le jouent beaucoup trop d'organistes "qui ont un métro à prendre".Je ne crois pas me tromper en écrivant que Widor approuverait!
Je partage votre opinion. J'ai apprécié aussi le mode de l'exécution et cette énergie dans les notes finales. Au début j'ai trouvé que sur les jeux du récit (je crois), le son semblait étouffé mais, sur le Grand Orgue et au pédalier les jeux chantent et l'acoustique de l'espace se révèle. Je ne connaissais pas la sonorité de cet instrument et j'ai découvert le profil de ce jeune et talentueux organiste parce qu'il est l'invité de Daniel Roth à Saint Sulpice pour jouer sur son Cavaillé-coll.
Wonderful playing... thank you! Now I'm interested in your pronunciation of the word 'homage'. Many people substitute the French equivalent but Americans seem to use the English pronunciation except for that initial letter. Similar to the US pronunciation of 'herb'. I wonder how this came about? The way Americans mispronounce 'Notre Dame' makes me think that they're not trying to emulate a French H.... Sorry for longwinded comment!
Excellent performance but the instrument sounds rather too thick and dense for this repertoire.
Very well played, but very pedestrian sounding organ.
You must be either deaf, a fool, or a German. Not all organs require shrieking mixtures, cold spitting principals and quirky medieval sounding reeds. THAT Lively-Fulcher in THAT room is one of the finest symphonic instruments you will hear anywhere.
