- For day Six of the 2017 Whiskey Advent Calendar from Master of Malt, Daniel taste and reviews Glenfiddich Experimental Series Project XX.
Just now seeing this lol. Love the review and yeh loved being a part of the process for this expression, Project XX (twenty). Hope we can meet up for a dram in Austin soon!
Your enthusiasm is contagious! I'm glad to finally see a whisky you're excited about in the advent calendar!
17 Ex Bourbon Casks 2 sherry casks and one Port wood cask was the selection for the blend. Just so yo know. Fantastic aint it?
Great video, Daniel. What I love about Glenfiddich is even though they’re incredibly popular, they haven’t jacked their prices to try and market themselves as a “luxury” scotch like some other, less scrupulous brands have done. *cough - Macallan * Fiddich remains reasonably priced and it’s a damn fine product! And this is coming from a peat-head !
very true
His reaction after the first watered down sip 😂😂 that shit made my heart fucking happy 😂😂
Hey Daniel, If I provide the water, will you provide the Glenfiddich Experimental Series - Project XX? :-)
I special ordered a bottle of this for my birthday self-present; just arrived yesterday.
Though I'm waiting for the weekend to give it a go, this has gotten me even more excited about it. Cheers!
It's called "Project 20" The XX are roman numerals ;)
Correct... Named as such for the 20 malt masters who chose the casks.
Just got my avant calendar!! Had to catch up. Day 1 and day 6 was VERY NICE!! Lol. Love this series of videos!!
I loved that. Tasting, experiencing and then trying to put it into words. I do this with coffee all the time. I'm trying my hand at whisky now and haring what you have to say helps a lot, even if it's a different whisky.
First I've ever had this and I've passed it at the store a million times. I may have to buy a bottle now. Adding water really did make a huge difference. Thanks Master of Malt!
Ok. That opening-tune is stuck in my head. And it has stuck there for days.
I've been a whiskey drinker since I turned 21, always enjoyed it but never knew why. I just wanted to say thanks guys! Been binging this channel and going out to try new things. I enjoyed a flight of Japanese, American, Irish, and scotch whisk(e)y over the course of a week at my local pub and learned a lot about my taste and was able to articulate what I like. I really appreciate the attitude of the show and the information given. Just wanted to let y'all know I'm a fan.
Glad you're here!
Loving these advent calendar videos. All about the whiskey. Love seeing your excitement and passion.
I’m so happy to have these extra episodes from you guys ! Keep up the good work !!!
We had this at our whisky club a few months ago. It received good scores and was liked by everyone - especially given it's reasonable price as it's a good bang for the buck expression. Thanks for reviewing.
Finally! Now just the Glenfiddich 21. Well done Daniel (Master Sommelier).
Terry's Chocolate Orange are the BEST!!!
I truly love the fact that there are bottles all over the floor! AMPed on Wildspark.
Just got some of this last week, and it is wonderful. I actually get a lot of pear off of it myself...like a pear cider.
Glad you enjoyed it as well.
I'm from the future. They have not done a video on this Glenfiddich xx with Rex yet.
One of your best reviews ever! Great job!
Two thumbs up. Great review
I’m not a huge fan of the 14, must be the oak, I just bought a bottle of deanston virgin oak, it is a huge change to what I’m use to, not sure if I like it yet, Going back for a glass shortly. Cheers!
I didn't think you were going to love this one lol
With how sweet and creamy it was.
That earthy nutty note, I find it to be walnut and the skin on it gives that slightly tannic feel
I won a bottle of the Winter Storm, another of the Glenfiddich experimental series. If you don't get your own bottle at some point, I'll try and get you a sample to try...just as soon as I figure out how to get it across the border 😉
Day 6 for me was Skallywag cask strength, nose seems more Dalmore than the 40% apv and so was the taste. Don't know the percentages but the Dalmore showed a bit more. Day 7 is Dailuine 16 Flora and Faune, but it is not 5:00 yet.
For some reason, I keep expecting Rex to jump in with a look of betrayal on his face
Man, I'm glad you did this whiskey! I almost got a bottle last night but what to see if I could find some more info on it first. I'm definitely going to grab a bottle tonight! I've heard the IPA is also awesome. A lot of people I've spoken to said they like the IPA over the XX so I'll probably just grab both!
I was just looking up a bottle of this on amazon!!! Now i want a dram of this even more
My new favorite whisky. I find different smells and tastes each time I drink it.
Sounds like a lot of what I get from The Dalmore 12...I get that chocolate orange and walnuts every time with some Christmas cake spices
I get that chocolate orange note from Glenlivet Founders Reserve.
How does Ancnoc stack up to that? So far that is my favorite highland with malt notes. Granted, I have not had that much. You and candy shirt have turned me onto more than Jameson. Thank you... Daniel. Ok you to Rex. See? You mooched a thank you with no work.
Top sweetest whisky
Have you reviewed the Glenfiddich IPA?
Second? Still love the advent calendar.
Terry's makes the orange. they have milk, dark and a toffee chips one
HaHA!! Glenfiddich isn't just king, they're KEEENGE @ 7:55
Glad you found one on the calendar you really like Mr. Woodington.
As a marketing student I need more of your ending marketing rants
ha!
Terry's Chocolate Orange. Tap and un-wrap, Daniel.
Gotta get me a bottle of this.
Hint hint...blend this 40:60 with Ardmore Legacy. You’re welcome.
Can u guys do the new glenfiddich fire and cane and also winter storm review?
Bought this bottle today reduced to clear with £20 knocked off.
Recently found your channel and have been binge watching ever since. Quick question, huge fan of bourbon, wanting to explore scotch, I've had Laphroaig 10 and wasn't a huge fan of the campfire and sea water notes I got, is there anything you'd recommend as a scotch but on the opposite side of smokey, sea water, iodine note?
try any glenmorangie or dalmore 12 is very seductive
Glenfiddich without Rex? NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey, more for you!
Just cracked a bottle of this. This guy had the same ear to ear shit eating grin i had.
Hey Snorty Snorterson, maybe dial back the snorts?
Also thanks for adding a little water. It's good to have that info.
I have a cold
You're a real trooper.
I'm a giver. It's in my nature. It's what makes me so magnetically attractive.
All of that is readily apparent my friend.
Just seen this at the liquor store, right next to it was a Glenfiddich IPA cask experimental series... has anyone tried it yet?
Travis Greschner, I almost bought that yesterday. Woodford Reserve was on sale for $27 overruled. Post if you try Glen IPA.
Travis Greschner
I have, and it is pretty wonderful.
I honestly cannot say I have come across a whisky at 43% or above that I haven’t enjoyed more with at least a 1/4 teaspoon of water.
What are your guys thought on chivas regal?
simple, but dig it in context.
Terry's Chocolate Orange, how do you not know that.
Couldn't remember off the top of my head :-)
What about the glenfiddich ipa?! any thoughts?!
Laphroaig 10 or Ardbeg 10
Longrow 18?????????
@ 3:45 terrys chocolate orange

Is it pronounced glenfiddich or glenfiddick?
"ck"
Nice job dude but Rex week still better
Haha saliva overload. Help im drowning...
Truth be told its not X X The x is Roman numerical value 10, so therefor it's actually Project 20 : Your welcome you magnificent bastards.

The whiskey alcoholic calender
Add cherry coke, now we're talking !!
