I built her with heavy creatures in mind. Being able to potentially play a ancient copper dragon on turn 3 or 4. is crazy. Did it today with finale of devastation. Copper dragon came out as a 16/16 flyer with haste. Swing 16 in the air at someone. Did I mention I had reckless fire weaver on board and proceeded to roll a 14. Dealing 14 damage to everyone because 14 treasure tokens just hit the board
I definitely want to try your glory meria out for sure. I've started a build of her that's focused on mana denial, with the wincon being being birgi/ignus/defiler or terror. I do still run the mana dorks, but maybe i should take those out in favor of faster rocks..
Great decks and breakdowns but what do you recommend for a deck to get as close as possible to Urza without it being a cedh decks. Like a 7-8 on the scale. If any combos were to be in the deck it would be the Battered Golem/Traxos and KCI combos. I would like to add the cloudstone combo but I don't own one unfortunately. Also, I don't have the any of the mox's.
A lack of Mox's would be a good place to start. You've got efficiency in terms of removal and EDH staples, but added flavor cards to allow for more self expression in the deck. This is my hot take but when most people say their deck is a 7 they are actually referring to the Battle tier. lol The numbered power level scale is so nebulous with little foundation for groups to point to.
@@OpalWave Good point. I’ll have to rule zero a couple cards because I want to add static, winter orb, and maybe trinisphere into the deck. However, I’ll have replacements ready if people don’t want the Stax pieces in the game.
I really like your builds! My mind keeps going between what the win-cons of my eventual Version of the deck will be. They’re some low cmc equipment (like lightning blades) that would be very good in a deck like this because if you had something like a metalwork colossus out, that’d be a big swing. Also what’re your opinion on banefire style cards in this? To me it seems Jaya’s legendary sorcery would work well here
The deck can produce a ton of mana so X spells seem pretty good here. If you go the X spell route I'd recommend Unbound Flourishing, get extra value out of those spells. Thanks for checking out the video!
At 21:50 Krark Klan Ironworks, Scrap Trawler, Myr Retriever, and Chromatic Star will not generate extra mana, only give you enough mana to recast all of the cards again given you tap the Trawler and Retriever for mana with Meria's ability. 1) Tap Scrap Trawler and Myr Retreiver for GG 2) Activate Chromatic Star and sacrifice Myr Retriever and Scrap Trawler to KCI to make 4 generic mana. (GG + 4 Generic in mana pool) Chromatic Star requires 1 mana to activate but creates a mana on resolution 3) Myr Retriever trigger targets Scrap Trawler and two Scrap Trawler Triggers target Myr Retriever and Chromatic Sphere 4) Use the 6 mana to recast Scrap Trawler, Myr Retriever, and Chromatic Star 5) Repeat steps 2-4 to draw your deck with the Chromatic Sphere until you find a 0 - drop artifact (Mox Opal or Mox Amber). From there you can make infinite mana since you can use the Scrap trawler trigger from the Sphere to target the 0 - drop artifact. 6) Use Pyrite Spell Bomb or Twinshot Sniper to deal infinite damage to the table.
@@herrschnee716 How so? You pay chromatic Sphere's ability with the G you made from Meria or the mana made from KCI. The mana is filtered by the Sphere so ends up being net neutral.
@@OpalWave Ye I noticed that when I went through the loop a last time. It's 2 am, I should've just gone to bed. I only wanted to explain how the combo works (605.3a, using KCI to get all triggers) and I somehow didn't realize the use is neutral. I therefore used the past two hours to create a 2k words deep instruction featuring alternate paths with cards like Claws of Gix, SDT, etc.. The worst thing is I probably have cracked over 10k eggs in my life. :'D
Idk if the KCI combo works the way you say it does. Chromatic sphere sacrifices itself as part of the cost of activating its ability, so you can't just also sac it to KCI at the same time. Also, there is no sacrificing everything at the same time, so when you sac myr retriever, scrap trawler wont be in the grave yet, and vice versa. This is important because targets need to be declared when they are put on the stack. I could be wrong, bc I'm not sure what ruling you are referring to.
I double check all of these ruling on the MTG Live Judge Chat found here: chat.magicjudges.org/mtgrules/ You can sac all at the same time but you need to activate an ability to do so. This is because KCI is a mana ability and doesn't use the stack. Without the ability on the stack you would not be able to sac all at the same time.
Thinking about it again though, you are right that you can't sac the star to the KCI since it is part of the ability. My bad! Will update to make things clearer.
You need KCI, Scrap Trawler, Myr Retriever, Chromatic Star. Those will net neutral in terms of mana but will draw your deck, from there you can find a 0 drop artifact to start making infinite mana. Will definitely update this section. Thank you for pointing it out!
@@OpalWave No worries, I'm glad it still works out! I always forget that mana abilities work differently than normal activated abilities. I will be using this combo for sure now!

It's been fun to play for sure. There are upsides to and downsides to running dorks vs. more fast mana. My version feeds dockside pretty hard lol.
