love how open you are with your christianity. It gives me some courage to go out and not care what others think. Just to go out do what Christ needs me to regardless of repercussions and persecution.

Jesus said, "God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way." - Matthew 5:11-12
"Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus WILL suffer persecution." -2 Timothy 3:12

Exactly ‘Eagle’. It matters not what others think when we obey our master: King Jesus Christ. Why? Because we’re not here to please man, but God. We’re in a new army-the army of God. Soldiers of the cross are we. We do what we’re commanded by our Savior, but remember to love our neighbors & enemies. No, we’re not to compromise on our convictions/beliefs, but we are to do our duties to the best of our ability. We do it for our Lord. And have no shame. The reason why the world doesn’t understand us, is because we’re different from the rest. We have joy in God; they don’t. The world’s way of having joy is in worldly pursuits: $, power, sex, toys, and pride in themselves (fleshly, comparing themselves with one another-like dog eat dog: stupid alpha’s). Our King is the only true Alpha (he said, “I am the Alpha and Omega, beginning and the end).

Watching 3 years later (new to WPS). Being a Christian, an active duty SFC in the Army and a protector, I am glad UA-cam recommended this video to me this morning. Being a Christian in the Army for the past 12 years has been a difficult road with many roadblocks and detours but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. This video gives me motivation to keep at it and know there are others with the same mindset.

some of the strongest churches ive ever attended are the ones in Marine towns. those churches were full of men of action! i remember our church loading up uhauls and being in south carolina after huricane hugo on saturday, spending all weekend helping the people whose homes were just destroyed, then turning around and heading back down on monday with my unit, SOI. i remember what a testimony it was to tell my fellow Marines, yeah, i just got back from here with my other quick response force...

When Hurricane Hugo struck, I was only 9. But because the eye wall came right over us, every detail of that storm was vividly etched into my mind with perfect recall. The story I love to tell most is how I saw COMPLETE STRANGERS coming to our aid. I was old enough to understand that strangers don't give their all for strangers. But I saw people driving in from as far away as Mississippi and Ohio with their pickup trucks loaded with gas, chainsaws, bottled water and most of all, people who genuinely cared. They would literally drive around and stop at random to help cut tress off cars and homes, making sure people had water to drink, and helping them gas up their generators. I have always felt such appreciation for those people who I knew I'd never be able to directly thank or even know who they were. I am SO GLAD, after 28 years, to have the opportunity to thank someone specifically and directly for what they did for us. God bless you and your team that came to help us out when we were hurting. You'll never know how deep our appreciation is.

I'm a Christian, a minister and a warrior poet. Love this video. Love that mindset. Love you referenced one of my favorite verses of Scripture. We've engaged before, you probably don't remember. That's cool though. One thing I see from you, out of your videos, and especially when you bring up Jesus is your joy. I can see it in you. What a great choice to choose joy in all the ugliness in this world and circumstances. But, ah, the ability to be serious in that joy as well. I think that should be a warrior poet standard.

John, thanks for being such a positive influencer in this social media world, you're truly a gift from God. Over the last 6 weeks I found myself coming back to Jesus after being far to distant for to long. God bless you and bless your work!

    John,
Been there, done that. Retired from the military after 23 yrs and a being a stronger Christian for the last 10 and while difficult to be a man of God, it is not impossible to live a godly life by using the tips you mentioned. You're right, while our love for Christ should be reflected on those around us, we can still be very successful, respected as a leader, and very approachable when people need spiritual help or support. I worked with some rough crowds and I know indeed there are no atheists in a foxhole. When it counts, those who respect your beliefs will approach you for prayer and advise knowing who you are and what you stand for. I enjoyed your video.

Recently, I've found the importance of a strong mind and you're further advancing that thought for me. Totally binge watching your videos right now lol, keep em going brother. Happy to be a part of the warrior poet society.

Spot on advice. Reflecting on a couple decades of military service, this is exactly how to conduct yourself. Fellow soldiers will notice your professionalism and dedication first, and then they'll ask how you do it. Great opportunities will present themselves, so be ready always to give an account.

1 Peter 3 - Always be ready to give an answer! Sometimes the answer is scripture, and oftentimes it's to shake someone's worldview - asking good questions of somebody's [wrong] worldview, and letting them follow it to its failure.

John, awesome! You are right about holy rolling around alphas. I was in the Army for eight years and man was it difficult. Nobody wants to hear what you have to say. I was a 63S Heavy Wheel Vehicle Mechanic with 3rd ID, 1st Cavalry, and 1st ID. Loved my job but hated that nobody was a Christian but me. If you said one thing about Christianity people would just walk away like you expended gas. Lonely world for a Christian. My experience was different. You just could not be taken seriously but now that you mentioned your fish hook story, I remember things that I could have turned around to be accepted more rather than get angry over. Keep up the great work you are doing. I have learned so much from your videos compared to my military experience. One of the opportunities I received was to become an Urban Combat Instructor, nothing compared to being a Ranger, and I notice the huge difference in discipline on your part. That's why I love your videos, they give me What I need to improve my competitive edge. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your faith. Your brother in Christ and in Arms.

Gas at friendly is $2.04???? I'm moving......oh yea, and I also served in the military as a Christian, 4 tours in the middle was a mental struggle at times, but to be honest, if I wasn't I may not have made it. Not saying that God "saved" me on a specific day, but having a rock to mentally rely on helps a lot. Seen the biggest baddest men can lose it under some conditions, strong faith can go a long way.

I read this in Proverbs today and it immediately made me think of the Warrior Poet Society. I really like the way it's written in the HCSB translation. Thought I'd share...
    Proverbs 24:5-6:
    5. A wise warrior is better than a strong one,
    and a man of knowledge than one of strength;
    6. for you should wage war with sound guidance-
    victory comes with many counselors.

That's great for everywhere. I was not a believer when I was in the military and I think it would have been a hard lonely road in the units I was in. There were some pseudo Christians but I didn't see any real devout, I could've just missed them since I wasn't one though. I bring it wherever I go though and people do laugh at me sometimes but they always call me during the hard times.

Another awesome video John! Of all the channels I follow I think that this one is my Favorite. I have a funny story about religion also. My parents were very religious and my Dad made a Christmas sign out a 4 x 8 ft sheet of plywood with three bible verses on it, Luke 2:10, 2:12, and 2:14. Its been displayed for 35 years. The last time he rebuilt the sign after the weather attacked the old one he had the letter J stencil backwards and with multiple people painting at the same time no one caught it. Every year people would see my Dad outside and say, "Hey the letter J is backwards!" My Dad would then say I know, and that he had no plans on fixing it because it accomplished exactly what he wanted it too. He wanted people to READ THE SIGN. He has since passed away but we put the sign out every year for my Mom. Keep up the good work. I would love to meet you some time or take a class. For someone to have the skills and intelligence that you have and to be some humble is amazing, especially these days. Sorry for the book.

+ Romans 10:9-10 "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." Amen 🙏!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The man in Luke 16:24 cries: ". . .I am tormented in this FLAME."
In Matthew 13:42, Jesus says: "And shall cast them into a FURNACE OF FIRE: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."
In Matthew 25:41, Jesus says: "Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting FIRE,. . ."
Revelation 20:15 says, " And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the LAKE OF FIRE." And please repent of all of your sins and be baptized by the Holy Spirit before it is too late, you will never know when the time will come 🙏!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amen 🙏!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As one of my pastors use to say "I preach all the time with everyone I meet every day, and sometimes, I will even use words". Actions speak louder then words, 100% on point

John, I sat to the right of you at the Mexican joint last night--I regret I didn't know more about you because your channel is awesome! Look forward to checking out other videos. This one was encouraging. Glad you got to hop into Farnam's class with us for a few minutes yesterday. Two days with him was an unforgettable (and inspirational) experience.

" Those who are sworn to serve their country in The Armed Forces are servants of the security and freedom of nations. If they carry out their duty honorably , they truly contribute to the common good of the nation and the maintenance of peace"(Catechism of the Catholic Church paragraph 2310).🦅🗽🇺🇸🇻🇦🙏⛪💒🛐👼😇⚔️

That has nothing to do with a Bible, so it’s Null and void. The catechism of the Catholic Church means nothing.

I was discussing something similar to this on another forum. Matthew 5:14-16 tells us to be a light unto the world. To me this means to excel at your calling and live your life as an example. When someone is in cold darkness, they are drawn to a warm light. On the other hand, pushing your faith makes that light into a tactical flashlight... and it repels. I think that you are doing great in demonstrating your faith as a foundation for what drives you as the warrior poet.

+Tim Hendricks thank you sir! And spot on with the metaphorical use of tactical flashlight - haha!

I never used to cuss at all till I joined the military, especially being thrown in to working at the ER for my first duty station. It me like a 1000 bricks when my friend and I had a deep conversation and she was shocked I was a Christian.. I was open about my faith, I talked about God, I even shared my faith with others, but I really caught myself with how I started to change being in that environment. Not trying to come off as a “holier than thou” type bc I mentioned cussing, but I was never like that, & it represented how I was carrying myself, along with my broad sense of humor. I went through a lot, first few years have been very hard, but the Lord is good & I have come a long way & going back to my roots! 😭🙌🏼 trying my best to stay on fire, bc I admit that being lukewarm is way too easy. Thanks for breaking this down for us, really helped a lot! 💗

The things you talk about apply well to any working environment. Being real is something people want to see. And being thick skinned and patient and responding with peace when others persecute you is what wins over those around you and, often, the person persecuting you.

Just now seeing this. Thanks. I don’t talk about my walk with Christ but everyone who knows me “knows.” One thing I can add from my experience, is to fully understand what I’m talking about if asked about Christianity. Most men I bump into are practical, therefor Proverbs has been a great segway into these discussions.

In my experience, people are much more receptive to a "WE sinners need God's grace," than a "YOU sinners need God's grace" approach. Sharing our own moral failures and the pain that they have caused is an honest and important part of our interactions with those who don't share our faith. We also need to keep our "suffering for Christ" in the context of a broader history of redemption. Being ridiculed or dismissed for your faith isn't such a big deal when you realize that Christians in ages gone by were fed to lions and that there are those Christians today serving God in countries where they can be beheaded for proclaiming Christ.
At the end of the day, some of the same people who are dismissive of your faith are likely to seek you out when relationships and securities begin to come unraveled for them. It may be years later, but I have found that God honors faithfulness and sometimes brings the most unexpected people back into our lives when they need comfort, grace, and compassion.
