    I love when you review calisthenics equipment, Matt. Of course, I also hate it because I want to buy them all. My only gripe about this duonamic equipment is it is way too expensive. Not to challenge it's quality, but even with quality, one has to ask whether $100 plus tax is worth a calisthenics equipment with virtually one function (e.g., pull ups). Where I am at, that pays for half a year of a gym membership.

    • @TheDamianvain17
      @TheDamianvain17 3 роки тому

      Where I'm at, gym membership, at the lowest, is $40. Median range is about $60. These values are per 1 month only! You're very fortunate and in that case, stay with the gym. However, I think would be more for "on-the-go" or when gyms were closed for lockdown. I'm envious! Hahaha. Have a great evening!

      Yea, innovative designs are always going to be more expensive as there's a lot more up front R&D behind them. Personally, I'v learned the hard way to avoid shopping on price when it comes to fitness equipment. Far too many low quality products out there that have left me disappointed.

    • @TheDamianvain17
      @TheDamianvain17 3 роки тому

      What I've learned over time is quality will cost up front but save over time. I've tried going a cheaper route with knock-offs and had to keep replacing until I'd spent far more, within a year's time, than I would if I had just saved up and bought the original product. It usually takes years for competitors to make an equal or better product, until then is wasted time. I've also tried building my own. While I am a tinkerer and have built some quality stuff over time, I've found my time spent on it only saved about $20 to, at most, $50. However, my time was far more valuable and missed opportunities for other things and money. When I have bought the original product, I've always been happy, gotten to train faster, and over time, continued to feel good about my purchase. I hope this helps. Have a great evening and good luck with whatever you decide.

    I think I must've missed something along the way. If these can be easily adjusted to any width and they are the "most versatile style of pullup bar on the market today", why is the rating only a 6? I listened to the explanation but it didn't seem to match the number. What would make it a ten?
    I'm just curious and confused. I sincerely appreciate the review and all of your work. Thank you.

    • @marcelw.2277
      @marcelw.2277 3 роки тому +2

      Versatilty as i understand it means how man different exercises one can execute with the product. The rings for example are the king of versatility imo while this product is simple an restricted in this way. The points you are talking about like range adjustment for the same exercise (pullup ) are mentioned in the "adjustment" category in which he gave a 9.

    • @RedDeltaProject
      @RedDeltaProject  3 роки тому +2

      The versatility factor is a combination of how many things it can do and how many ways you can adjust the tool. In this case, it can be adjusted a lot for a pull-up bar but it is just a pull-up bar so it's application is limited in that regard.

    • @TheDamianvain17
      @TheDamianvain17 3 роки тому +1

      @@RedDeltaProject Ah, now I see. Thank you. I was wondering about that. Naturally, with it being made strictly for that, that makes sense. In comparison to other pull up door systems, I would think the versatility would be even higher, right? However, in comparison to the rest of the stuff, I understand the 6 rating. Thanks for the response and the review, Matt!

    • @TheDamianvain17
      @TheDamianvain17 3 роки тому +1

      @@marcelw.2277 I got it, thanks! Of course, rings are things I would associate with suspension trainers, since they must connect to something, right? As far as doorway pull up gadgets, I wouldn't compare the two. I have both (old style pull up bar that I can no longer use because it broke the door frame, and an s. trainer) and can do both, but, to me, it's apples to oranges. An s. trainer is far superior to any training gadget ever made and is stand alone on that aspect. That's how I was seeing this. Does this make sense? At any rate, thanks for the response and being cool enough to help. That's what I like about this community.

    Hi Matt, my door frame is flimsy. Will those rip my door frame off your wall?

    • @RedDeltaProject
      @RedDeltaProject  3 роки тому +3

      Hard to say, door frames by design are pretty structural sound, and this puts pressure through the frame in a much more uniform way compared to the leverage style pull-up bars so this would be better than those. But then it depends on why and how your frame is flimsy. if the materials are not strong or it's coming apart, I would use a different option

    • @DaveLowe28
      @DaveLowe28 3 роки тому +2

      As it's only grabbing onto the architrave, which being purely decorative will not have been installed with anything more than glue or thin nails, I would say be careful. The bars that hook over the frame but also put pressure on the wall may be a bit more secure.

    • @RedDeltaProject
      @RedDeltaProject  3 роки тому +2

      Door frames are pretty resilient, but feel free to pull down on one side with as much of your bodyweight as you can. If that holds, you should be good as these are even easier on the frame than putting your weight on one side, as they distribute the weight more evenly.

    • @RedDeltaProject
      @RedDeltaProject  2 роки тому

      Actually, that's not necessarily a bad thing as you should use your pecs as a bit of a shoulder stabilizer during pull-ups.
      So if you have a strain, give it some time to heal as you may have just stressed it too much in one set or workout

    But it all depends on how strong, stable your door moulding is?

    • @RedDeltaProject
      @RedDeltaProject  2 роки тому +1

      Door molding is, or at least should be plenty stable. And these place much more uniform force through the door frame than the more common type which places all of the vertical force on one side of the frame molding while applying a leverage horizontal agains the other side.
      For what it's worth, I used to have a typical door frame pull-up bar and it would always make the door frame creak when I used it. These don't seem to place as much flexion and force on it to do so

      Modern door trim is meant to be pretty solid. If anything, the standard doorway pull-up bar would be more risky because it's pulling your weight on one side the trim. This places force evenly on both sides so the pressure is equally distributed throughout the entire door frame.

    • @RedDeltaProject

      Not sure. Those clamps can get pretty darn wide, but they do have to close at least enough so the pads are flush with the frame. 8 inches may create an angle that prevents that. if it says the max is 6 inches I would avoid using that door frame.
