Not many channels do this. However, look up Buff Dudes. They only explain it without picturing it but I still think that they are one of the greatest fitness channel.
You do really good work in general, but this is the best pullup vs chinup video I've seen! Informative, and it's almost hypnotic watching you cranking out rep after rep.
This is a Great Video. Not only in terms of the information but also from the technical point of view. You shot the video with a high professional effort. The light is perfect, there’s nothing to disturb observing you doing the exercises. It looks easy and I totally understand your instructions but it is damn hard performing such a fundamental exercise like the chin or pull up the way you do it. Thanks for the explanations.
I agree, I have been trying to find a good video about this topic. Just started getting back into doing pull ups & my back was sore right away. I look at it like ( Pull up = back/triceps |||| Chin up = mostly bicep muscles )
I normally don't comment on videos but this one does truly deserve it! This is the highest quality fitness related video I've ever seen!👊👍 Amazing work, guys!🙌🏻 Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪
Felt like I learned a lot about why my hollow body pullups felt so awkward. Thanks for the info, I will definitely be using this to make my workouts more in line with physiology.
Make sure to engage your scapula before doing pullups. If not, the dead hang angle will be bad for your shoulders over time. There is no substitute for these workouts! I’ve been working them for years, now I can get up to 36 pullups (not strict) in one set. Keep working my friends!
@@kajuanweaver1607 while hanging from the bar, pull up very slightly only using your shoulder blades (arm should still be locked out). This should move the tension from your shoulders to your upper back. A good visualization that helps is to lean back a little and focus on getting your sternum to the bar. Most people just hang directly under the bar and try to pull straight up until their chin gets over the bar, which will stress your shoulders over time.
So to summarize it: chin-up: more biceps less forearms pull-up: more forearms less biceps chin-ups are easier because the bicep is bigger than the forearm muscles
It's normal to do chin ups and almost no feel the biceps? I'm doing them and I can only feel and get sore on my back. And hardly feel anything on the biceps. It's so weird.
I think that was the idea...like why they teach how to drive stick shift on a muscle car so you can hear when to shift. I know zero about body mechanics, so it is very helpful to me to be able to see the muscles on the person while they are performing the exercise. Then I can try and imitate.
Excellent video! Especially like the graphics with colored overlays of muscle groups on top of a live shot (4:28 and 4:55). Most effective presentation of musculature I've seen in an exercise video on UA-cam! (Much more effective than a magic marker pen) ;-) Thanks and keep up the great work!
