  • Kurt Streit plays a debonair (and very charming) Grimoaldo in the 1998 Glyndebourne production of Händel's "Rodelinda".
I noticed that there just isn't enough of this brilliant tenor online, so I shall attempt to remedy that. Enjoy! His stage manner (especially the bit in the clip where he's just rolling around on the stage) is very endearing, and I firmly believe he is one of the great singing actors of our time.

Yes, he is one of my favorite Mozart tenors. Great blending of passagio.

He's my absolute favourite tenor, Mozart or anything else, and the more online clips the better!! I saw this Rodelinda at Glyndebourne and subsequently bought the video.
Let's hear it for this very nice man.

Streit was a super hot looking blonde kind of pale tenor. Where the body was tall and athletic the voice was smaller. It carried but was mostly a nasal and head formants as the throat core sound was not terribly strong. He was calm and plaintive with enough energy to make things less dull in Mozart & Handel.

Thank you, internet! I have found another tenor of quality. I'm wondering what other gems i will find with Kurt's name on them. Time will tell, and I'm expecting great things.

His recordings of Belmonte’s arias from Mozart’s Entführung are not to be missed!
