Hi guys! I hope you like this takeoff video, if you do, please give it a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel! Thank you huusk.club/dutchpilotgirl for sponsoring this video! Let me know which video you'd like to see next!
What an awesome experience watching the take off from the cockpit. Another throughly enjoyable video. I liked the way you have so many datapoints about the takeoff settings and also point out the landmarks without ever feeling the screen is getting crowded. That is brilliant and super way of content resource management. I guess you don’t fly to the US but sometime would love to see the approach/take off from SFO. Thank you. Looking forward to the next one.
Played this for 99 year dad who is Rehab after a hospitalization. He and mom visited Iceland years ago and its one of his favorite trips. He like the scenery out the window. Thanks!
You new and aspiring pilots can learn a lot from the finer details of her videos. For example, notice how she and her captain maintain absolute sterile cockpit during critical phases of flight. They are friendly, but there is no idle chatting. They communicate using standard language and do all of their call outs and responses very efficiently, saying only exactly what is needed. I have flown with a lot of GA pilots who over talk and use loose slang in the cockpit. Learn from the pros like her - you can be efficient and safe while still being relaxed and enjoying the flying. Thanks again for a wonderful vid!
@@rudyyarbrough5122 For commercial operations. For private pilots, it's not the law, just a really good idea. Even if you aren't flying commercial, you can learn a lot from the pros.
Not lucky. Her gender is irrelevant. Although I completely understand your good intentions in using that terminology. My older kids all seem very interested in being flying regenerative farmers like their dad. It was many years and considerable military service that allowed me a 20 year career as an airline pilot. It wasn’t without pain and suffering. My kids facing a familiar path scares me. Even if they explore the civilian pathway, being poor is its own type of pain. In the case of my daughters, I want the world to ignore their gender, no pat on the head and “good girl” comments. Ironically, I don’t think they care as much about that as I do. I want my girls to be dragon slayers, so that after I’m dead, they will be ok. My oldest will be 15 in April. She is so eager for her 1st solo in a glider. I can’t wait to tow up up for it.

I just discovered your channel...I found your videos so useful for me, I will never attend a flight school nor become a real pilot (in fact I am an old doctor...) but I have a >30 years passion for flight simulation and I am now learning to fly a 737-800 on X plane 11. I will follow you!
There are a ton of take off and landing videos out there...But I really like all the interaction of showing maps, switch setting, flap setting...Etc. It gives us Non Pilots an idea of how it all works...Well done
My husband was in the Navy and we were stationed in Keflavik in 1980 for three years. Awesome people and country!! We really enjoyed living there ..... wish it had been longer 💞
Love the Iceland videos. Was stationed there for 3 years. Northern lights never got old. Anywhere was the best seat in the house. Remember when both military and civilian planes were marshalled into the same area. Quite crowded. Not anymore. Thank you so much for the memories and new views of Kef.
The take-off video is just as fascinating, informative and appealing as the landing ones. Super! I further also very much enjoy those information snippets regarding the area in question - in conjunction with the LIDO map they are a real bonus for the viewer. Plus I always watch the entire length of the Your Pilot Academy part at the end - it is so very well made! An advertisement that I actually enjoy viewing, hooray!
Beautifully done as usual. We are seriously considering visiting Iceland have heard so many great things about it. Again, thanks for sharing your passion.
My wife and I visited Iceland about 40 years ago. It was fascinating. I, now widowed, am planning a trip to Europe next Summer. I think I will make Iceland part of that trip. I had better get this done as the grey beard is real.
Wow is all I can say. You couldn’t have made this video on a better day. Just the pure blue skies was exquisite. Great job as always Michelle. Love it and definitely Iceland is on the list for summer though 😂
Another awesome video Michelle! I love how you add little bits of information about the landscape/geography of the places you go it really enhances the content of your videos! Beautiful take off as well you can tell that you are very passionate about your job and that makes it not really a job but more of a way of life as I’m sure you know and it also naturally makes you a much better pilot when you look at it that way instead of looking at it as a Paycheck!!
Loved it from the pushback, all the graphics you add are fantastic, what a great idea adding the taxiway graphic. The UA-cam check list was brilliant. Looking forward to the next one.
I remember how long that taxi is, I thought they were going to drive us to our destination! But no matter how much I fly. (as a passenger, never a pilot), I love it. Brings back memories. I learned to fly while stationed at Kef in the early 70's. Navy Flying Club Piper C140. There was no new north terminal back then, only the original terminal and Navy hangar down on the SE side of the runway. On my solo flight I took off from 01 and just as I was departing ran into a flock of seagulls. I hit one, declared PanPan, told the tower what happened, and returned to land... uneventfully. No significant damage... except to the bird. The bird had struck the lower left cowl a glancing blow and part of its remains wedged in the left main mount. My instructor signed my solo ticket anyway. :) I really liked the summer long daylight days as I could check out the airplane in the late afternoon after work and still get in 2 or 3 hours in perfect daylight conditions. A little trivia: That new north terminal complex was built over the top of the old Navy Capt. R. R. Sparks Rod and Gun Club skeet and trap range.
I was stationed in Iceland while in the U.S. Navy for three years ending in 1984. That was before they built their own airport. Loved it there and the people
Never saw a tarmac layout before. Interesting to see taxiway diagrams, terminal gates, other designated areas, and just how far one must taxi to a runway. The rest of the video was okay too. 😊
Very nice video, Michele. Looks like it was a beautiful sunny day there. The last time I was at Keflavik in the eighties, and before I don't ever remember seeing the sun, and it was always cold. It also looks like the airport is totally changed form my last visit. Again, great video, Michele. Thanks much.

Wow! Such stunning views upon take off! I’ve never been to Iceland but sure hope to, after seeing this. It was curious that the camera view shows the ground speed dramatically, even when pushing back with one ground staff member walking alongside. Let alone when finally running for take off! Very funny: did you remove your shoulder seat belt towards the end? 😊 Or maybe I didn’t see so well. Yeah, usually one doesn’t see videos of the taxiing, etc. Awesome job!❤
Gorgeous and a pilot...WOW...your significant other is very lucky...really enjoy your videos, never stop making them...jokes aside, i flew to DK via Iceland a few times and have to say that the turbulence is a little scary.

Thank You, a very nice video, and a lovely day for flying, and Greetings from Down Under Australia 👍
Love this video and the charts giving geospatial references.
Gorgeous and a pilot...WOW...your significant other is very lucky...really enjoy your videos, never stop making them...jokes aside, i flew to DK via Iceland a few times and have to say that the turbulence is a little scary.
I have the same Huusk knife in my house. When you are looking for a really sharp knife, don't look any further because you have found it with Huusk. Fabulous in handling.
I love how well your video are composed! Such great view and very informative! I hope to be in the cockpit someday
Hii Michelle!❤ Couldn't attend the expo and missed being out there and meeting you in person, but next time! How did this event go for you! Coming back to this, it's been a year since last take off video, they are always amazing to watch, so much to learn about the BTS checklists and stuffs and what preparation goes in before getting airborne! Keep these take-off videos coming Michelle! Would love to see one from Funchal! Have a nice weekend! 🙂
Thanks for the feedback Sonu! Will think about creating the take off video for Funchal as well (already have the footage). The pilot expo was great! Got to meet a lot of nice and interesting people. Will post more about it on Instagram :) Have a nice Sunday!
