    Update: To anyone wondering, I haven't been messing around with any projects as of late. Anyone familiar with my channel can see I have a bad habit of picking something up, messing around with it and then dropping it(I'm a cunt, I know.)
    Considering this very channel is a low effort joke, if people are interested in more kinds of content I'd be happy to produce more. Whether it's modding/testing/exploring "older" games or just older Metroid games(considering Metroid Zero Mission and Fusion are the most viewed types of content on my channel) I'd be happy to as I enjoy tinkering with things. I can't promise anything huge but if people are interested I can certainly deliver small bits of entertainment.
    Feel free to ask any questions, have a good one.

    • @L1LegoAnimations
      @L1LegoAnimations Рік тому +15

      Only reason Samus has ledge grab in Fusion is because the Fusion suit is so much lighter and less durable than the old power suit, hence Fusion's more unforgiving damage from enemies.

      @@L1LegoAnimations But what about Zero Mission & Samus Returns?
      She had the ledge grab in those.
      I know in Zero Mission, you had to find it in the Chozo Ruins in Crateria while it may have been standard in Samus Returns like it was Fusion.

      @@Nicksolo85 Couldn't tell you in Samus Returns. In the original Metroid and Metroid II: Return of Samus, she couldn't grab ledges so the lore for why she could in Fusion was written like right after Fusion's release. They followed it by adding Power Grip in Zero Mission, but Idk how they explain it in Samus Returns. AM2R (if you're not familiar, it's a *very* well made fan remake of Metroid 2 that's, imo, far superior to Samus Returns) didn't do anything with it either iirc.

    This was definitely something I wanted in the game. Maybe have specific areas it CAN’T show up in so there isn’t a chance of it being obnoxiously annoying but I love the idea of this thing having its own real-time cycle of wandering around the station. When Adam said there were “10 SA-X on the station with you” the first time I was fully convinced that meant if I wanted to go around the station and collect the remaining items for 100% I’d have to deal with the SA-X showing up at inopportune times to scare the shit out of me. Unfortunately, that was not the case :(

  • @L1LegoAnimations
    @L1LegoAnimations Рік тому +15

    The SA-X would've been much more terrifying if
    1) they used what Adam said about there being more than 10 and started planting some around,
    2) the SA-X you do encounter used something other than the ice beam and screw attack, and
    3) the encounters were more frequent/randomized.
    Also I would've really liked to see an SA-X in Dread somehow as I'm sure they would've done something with #2, but it would've been lore breaking so I get why they didn't.

    • @Empr4evr
      @Empr4evr Рік тому +9

      4) the AI controlling the SA-X was smarter. It's comically easy to troll the SA-X, mainly because it won't use the morph ball, and doesn't 'know" that, in 2 of its encounters with you, it's just a jump away from finding you.

    • @L1LegoAnimations
      @L1LegoAnimations Рік тому +8

      @@Empr4evr no joke. Someone made a mod for Super Metroid that turns it into Fusion if it were a horror game. Watching the player solve a morphball puzzle with FOUR SA-X closing in through their own puzzles from all sides was terrifying. They even used the XRAY scope to find Samus hiding behind walls, like wow.

      Used with Select and B, only works in the USA version of the game. Seems to damage all enemies on screen repeatedly with one point of damage. a better version of this is integrated into a hacked rom that youve probably already seen floating around as it has a proper hitbox that matches up with the sprites and deals a decent chunk more. I also have a third variant which works for the Japanese version and makes the beams of light appear all over the screen in a rapid manner which fits in better with the wide hitbox.
      Double Charge Wave:
      74000130 03FB

      0000C192 0208
      72037C7E 0311
      82037CD4 E89C
      Used with Select, only works in japanese versions of the game. the sprites are messy up until the last level and dont deal any damage. Using them in the hacked rom that ive mentioned causes zero to instead use the charged saber smash attack instead of a crescent wave, which ends up damaging himself and stunlocking you until you use another command to get out of it somehow.
      Messenkou:
      74000130 037B
      82037C6C 0E01
      74000130 037B

      52037C6C 0006
      01000100 0000
      0000C192 0208
      74000130 037B
      32037CF4 0030
      Used with Down + Select. Glitchy Visuals unless used with the aforementioned hacked rom in which case only the projectiles display properly. Interestingly enough Messenkou seems to take its hitbox from other code installed- For instance, if you have the hacked roms rekkouha then Messenkou will only damage above and slightly to your sides. If you use it with the weird rekkouha that damages everything on screen, it does that instead. Your projectiles can also hurt yourself if you end up running into them after the move finishes, i assume your given invincibility manually before that.
      Now i also have the saber combo and the aura but you already seem in possession of them. You dont have to, but itd be so cool to see you make them work properly- if anything im just glad im getting them out there now though. it was such a pain in the rump to find all of these.
