Apologies for the low audio, my recording software did not like my emulator. Through patching, debugging and some scavenging I was able to get somewhere. I cannot claim credit for this, as it is not my original work. All I did was pull a bunch of patches, GameShark codes and that sort and messed around with it to create this. Important Update: All of my projects, roms and hacks have been lost during a file transfer. Every setting I had, save file and so on has been lost. Over a hundred roms alone, and I can't be asked to start from scratch. My apologies but unless I get an extreme boost of motivation, every previous video and project is a lost cause. Perhaps I'll do other projects in the future but i can say for certain that i will NOT be attempting to revive any dead projects. Sorry.
Which software do you use to edit the game?
Not much outside software. While I prefer MyBoy as an emulator on my smartphone, VBA's built in cheat engine helps a lot. Plus the debug menu GameShark code. I did dive a little into this one program that would edit tile placement and enemies for Metroid games, but I forgot the name of the program.

Do the codes work in a hacked Japanese version of the game? I have an Omega Zero ROM hack of the game and it is in Japanese. So i was wondering if the codes would work on something like that too

I personally use MyBoy! on android for gba emulation. VBA was always hit or miss for me when it came to GameShark. Certain versions would or would not run certain roms, and getting gameshark to work was a pain. You're going to have to experiment.
Is this extended version of the soundtrack original or fanmade? Either way, pretty cool

IMPORTANT: Thanks for stopping by, I've made this segment to hopefully answer a few questions people might have about this. Q. What am i looking at? A. An attempt to randomize the SA-X, to make it actually hunt down the player across all rooms. Q. How was this done? A. Using gameshark codes and the debug menu. Q. This was definitely something I wanted in the game. Maybe have specific areas it CAN’T show up in so there isn’t a chance of it being obnoxiously annoying but I love the idea of this thing having its own real-time cycle of wandering around the station. When Adam said there were “10 SA-X on the station with you” the first time I was fully convinced that meant if I wanted to go around the station and collect the remaining items for 100% I’d have to deal with the SA-X showing up at inopportune times to scare the shit out of me. Unfortunately, that was not the case :(

You know, for an all powerful Samus clone with all her upgrades, she doesn't know how to use the Hi Jump Boots or the Space Jump.
But that, aside, having the SA-X actively hunt you down would actually recapture the feeling of horror that Fusion originally brought to the series.
The SA-X also doesn't have the gravity suit, speed booster, power grip, and X-ray scope.

Im pretty sure the second clip is from a rom hack of zero mission called "crocomire's revenge", its on metroid construction
How do you have random encounters?
There needs to be a mod for Random SA-X encounters like this. At least one SA-X in each area, they appear at certain spots that are easy to hide yet difficult to get through without noise.
I've been messing around with both Fusion and Zero Mission to try and properly implement the SA-X and give it the role of a hunter, can't promise anything though.
@@rumor-936metaquarius was making a fusion themed super metroid mod with this exact idea in mind, called x fusion. Not much information exists about it now though. He had to go into hiding because of nintendo

A cheat code that turns a random enemy in a room into the SA-X. Not really a true randomizer but it can look like one if you look at it a certain way.

Man, Fusion would have been so much scarier if the SA-X could actually be encountered randomly. Like, imagine if it just showed up in the middle of your fight against the spider boss or whatever. That would be nuts!

Not during bosses. Even if you have to make some bs story reason where the doors get locked by the federation during boss fights
There's a fusion hack called master quest that edits the entire layout of the station/sectors, they have actual random SA-X encounters, plus one more feature that I will not spoil. Check out for yourselves.

Looks like Adam wasn't kidding when he said "there are now no fewer than *10* SA-X aboard the ship."
The SA-X would've been much more terrifying if 1) they used what Adam said about there being more than 10 and started planting some around, 2) the SA-X you do encounter used something other than the ice beam and screw attack, and 3) the encounters were more frequent/randomized. Also I would've really liked to see an SA-X in Dread somehow as I'm sure they would've done something with #2, but it would've been lore breaking so I get why they didn't.
4) the AI controlling the SA-X was smarter. It's comically easy to troll the SA-X, mainly because it won't use the morph ball, and doesn't 'know" that, in 2 of its encounters with you, it's just a jump away from finding you.
@@Empr4evr no joke. Someone made a mod for Super Metroid that turns it into Fusion if it were a horror game. Watching the player solve a morphball puzzle with FOUR SA-X closing in through their own puzzles from all sides was terrifying. They even used the XRAY scope to find Samus hiding behind walls, like wow.

It would have been really cool if when Adam informed you that there are multiple SAX’s that every sector would have been populated by a few. Would have made the 100% hunt more exciting
