Metroid Fusion - Glitches and Tricks Compilation

- All of these can be performed on the actual game, no emulator needed.
This is just a collection of tricks and glitches I put together. Explanations are in the annotations. Feel free to ask questions though.

"The annotations"
UA-cam removing things that worked perfectly fine, it's sad

aw man i just realized what annotations were

It's so weird how fusion prevented you from getting things early, and how Zero mission was made to be beaten in your own way.
OG COMMENT ALERT!
I've heard folks praise it for that exact thing, in that Zero Mission is a faithful recreation of the OG game in all new light, but that Fusion sort of has this ongoing theme of "nothing's the same anymore, everything you once knew is gone"
Like, especially with what had happened to Samus at the outset with the metroid DNA and stuff
It's kinda fascinating from a ludonarrative perspective.
tl;dr that weirdness you pointed out was likely 100% on purpose
Adam is in charge, that's why
@@UltraGamma25 IDT Fusion wouldn't be able to create the atmosphere that it had without the linearity.
Not really, zero mission is only slightly more like that. Super metroid is the game with the most amount of freedom and sequence breaking of the three games.
Hello, 144p.
It's been 7 years.
Makes me wonder if this video back then could only be uploaded in 144p, considering that was literally the GBA's aspect ratio.
Back then it was 240p iirc… 144p was added only afterwards
Gba is 160p meaning that 144p is worse than the gba
To be fair, if it wasn't for the terrible compression we could barely note the difference.
3:05 Headcanon Samus actually tried this. Just because, Shinespark pretty much kills anything.
3:47 Aww, it's just so happy to see you.
6:50
2:46 Didn't know you could do that. Thanks.
I like how the SA-X's Super Missile does less damage than it's Ice Beam.
billy Siravo jr That could be true.
Even though her super missiles obliterated a DOOR on more than 1 occasion?
FlightlessRidley metroids are known to be resistant to ballistics I suppose
Bootlex In debug you can
FlightlessRidley Thats merely for story purpose, lets just say Samus wasnt a trigger happy shooter and never wasted a shot and only missed shots on certain boss fights.
7:40 Hey look! The Omega Metroid can now fly like in Metroid II!
The Mildly Shocked Sunflower [SSB4 Replays] Yo
@@GBA-049 Heya. Surprisingly, this is one of the comments I made that I'm not suffering from old comment cringe.
Hey
@@solarflare9078 what about now?
Couldn't this be used in a Speedrun tho?
7:38 As if the final boss wasn't enough of a joke already. This is great haha
That last one was pretty tight but a lot of these are useless lol. Im strangely entertained throughout. Perhaps its just the nostalgia i get. This game was amazing.
actually some of these are quite useful for speedrunning, like the quick SA-X kill
6:50
OMEGA METROID DANCE PARTY!!!!!

3:46 cute ^~^
weesnaws12345 What's wrong with your profile pic?

omega Metroid was happy to be on screen
OMG Metroid
6:30 PARTY HARD
Did it get stuck?
1:36 SA-X: where are she?...
Samus:...
*Samus fires* Sa-x: where did she...
I remember lots of this, I was able to encounter some of them in some of my playthroughs.
Anyway, those shinerspark tricks are just so cool, I was able to master it in both Fusion and Zero Mission, but I never thought of trying to use it against SA-X, BOX or the Omega Metroid, it would have been cool to at least damage the first two with it.
Also, rip the annotations, UA-cam should have kept them somehow...
the shinespark sound effect starts, even though i haven't started shinesparking yet.
6:50 Omega Metroid, I've come to bargain
3:48 (idk the name of that thing) join the chat :v
And i thought Super Metroid was the glitchy one.
The x are doing a massage to samus, and the music really fits. 1:59
Werid
I knew the AI in this game kinda sucked, but wow. Great showcase.
Syphist Prime like it was just possible to cheese sa-x xD rip AI
What did you expect it was one of the first GBA games, but still it’s considered a classic
MetroidPrime117 Yet, imo, this game was much better programmed than other GBA games... like Sonic Genesis, Mega Man & Bass, and both Earthworm Jim games.
lol guys this game was brilliant by its unique atmosphere, the ia sure sucked but the game was still intense
オメガメトロイドの連続ジャンプの地震(笑)

You should try speedrunning Fusion. You seem really, really good.
MoreProximal have you not seen the other videos on my channel?
+biospark It took me four months to respond, but sadly at the time i have not seen them. I have watched them though and i would like to say sorry for the dumb statement.

funny that annotations aren't a thing on YT anymore so it's just a vid of random Fusion stuff with no explanations

Computer:Samus, I´m impressed that you
were able to make it back.
Computer:That trick with the Shinespark
was very...ingenious.
Man Mysterioso:That´s our Samus Aran!
Magnificient! Truly magnificent!
Man Mysterioso:As a reward, let´s fill her in on
our plan. Hmm, computer?
Computer:That is...not advisable.
Man Mysterioso:Bah...
Computer:No more joking.
Samus, get back on task.

The annotations don’t work anymore :(
most of this glitches and tricks i perform out of complete accident, unintentional.
The one in Sector 4 Underwater with the missile shooting under the enemy once got me thinking I wasn't supposed to use the Ice Missile since I thought it was invulnerable. Turns out it's just a REALLY small hitbox.
6:52 samus: Watcha' doin? Omega Metroid: aww nothin'. XD
* Shinesparks behind you *
Nothing personal kid
6:45 lmao at "interesting experience"
Nice collection. Too bad they went out of their way to prevent you from doing cool stuff with the shinespark.
+GoldenJoe Well, there is *one* difficult-to-obtain Easter Egg if you can use the Shinespark properly before getting the Missile Diffusion upgrade, and it's satisfying enough, but yeah, it's stupid how you can't *actually* use the Shinespark to defeat bosses and such. It's rather useless when you take away that aspect of it.
AfrewSpines Yeah, I know about that secret. Both it and the mandatory "sequence break" are really cool, and they clearly knew it was cool, which makes their desire to prevent it all the more strange.
@@AfrewSpines Actually, I saw somebody do this. Just outside where you get the Diffusion Missiles, spin jump to the wall above the door, spin jump away, and with precise timing, shooting an ice missile diagonally down, and when done just right, it'll freeze the bottom enemy, allowing you through, and once you go up to the Nav room, you get the message.
6:50 He's hopping mad because he can't turn around.
you just have to be fast enough to do it.
you have to crouch the exact moment samus touches the ground. it'll probably take a few tries.
I just love how amazing this player is. True skills at i9ts best (as humanly possible that is). Now I feel like trying some of these but I doubt I will be able to pull any of them off, I will try anyways. Who knows, I might be able to pull a few them off (like Super Metroid's Mock Ball trick or the sequence break in Metroid Prime for the early Space Jump Boots).
3:28 I’ve always wondered about this area. Maybe it was meant to be a whole room at one point but was scrapped yet still has properties from said room.
Does anyone else use the exploit for the SA-X battle where you have it run to the bottom left of the room while you on the ledge above it?
Then you jump down, shoot it while it's over there, and then jump up and to the left again so that it will run back to the left and stay down in that "corridor."
Wow... Its AMAZING how do you DESTROY the omega metroid, really WTF!!!!!!!!
Samus: *shinesparks behind the Omega metroid*
*Omega Metroid used Earthquake!*
Samus: *is behind the Omega Metroid when it jumps back*
*Omega Metroid used Fly!*
Man this just goes to show you cant have a perfect game before publishing, it's just impossible haha
1:40 SA-X:OMG WHAT DO I HAVE DONE?!?!?!?!
The Metroid Fusion it whose the best game of the year back on 💎 💎 2002 💎 💎
Love the Omega having a stomping tantrum because Samus won't play by its rules
0:53 I knew this glitch since I was 9 years old, now im 12 years old, too bad I lost the game :(
Get an emulator for this if you don't have one.
Wow, 8 years later I forgot about this comment and I am still surprised at some tricks
@@Master0fGiggity Don't worry my comment aged like wine, I found it!
1:42 To this day, it is said that the Sa-X is still doing the Crash Man.
6:46 Dude, it's like guy rule number 5: Let him finish.
The only other trick (two, technically) is the Secret Message Adam and HQ say if you either master the Speed Boost or perfectly freeze a Spineshark without the Diffusion Missiles, so technically it's two tricks with one outcome.
Best collection of Metroid Fusion glitches on youtube!
*Hold right on a wall then press jump and left at the same time dude*
7:40 Now he's doing moon walk.
Everything being shown is completely useless. Still, good finds.
I found that one at 1:09 when I was 10! I still remember thinking how clever I was, feeling like I got one up on the developers lol
If you debug quicksave in a morph ball area: if you load you load inside the wall and you can only get out with morph ball.
1:37 It will always make me chuckle when I see the A.I for the SA-X being goofy. It’s supposed to be this terrifying clone of you that could eradicate you in mere seconds and yet it sometimes acts like a dog chasing its own tail.
The one at 5:53 also made me laugh.
Wish you could skip things by going inside walls using frozen enemies...
That thing with the omega will always hold a special place in my heart
Those spiky crawling things in the TRO sector you can shoot a missle at them and it'll go thru if you shoot close to its base
That Omega Metroid was hopping mad.
I LOVED watching samus run and charge her gun as a kid
Hey BioSp4rk I wanted to ask about what I think might be a glitch.
I noticed that sometimes while fighting Nightmare, I will space jump THROUGH his Left arm (the one that appears closer to the screen). Is that supposed to happen? Wondering if you could put that into a video, as I can't record off my SP and I suck on an emulator :P
.MisC. (this is WAY too late) his left arm is in the background layer, so his left arm will never hurt you
Sa-x died from suffacation in a wall near the end. Reminds me of my minecraft sand, and gravel accidents...
*Sa-x suffocated in a wall*
0:11 *insert build up speed joke here*
I have not played this game in 5 years and I still have it
I've not owned this game for a year and I've beaten it at least 10 times.
Jake Saltbin If you played it once you know what is useful and what is useless
me too
That Omega Metroid glitch is awesome at the end
4:14 Samus go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....
In the one where you damage boost off the sector 2 boss, before you drop down at first, you can jump off but hang on the ledge, and the boss will spawn.
This video was randomly recomended to me 8 years after it was released.
Great editing, great footage, and great commentary. Excellent video, mate. :) Would "like" again if I could.
Some of these would be good for speed runs. I also thought that the Diffusion Missiles were the only thing you could sequence break, I guess I was wrong.
The floating enemy is common, since the Ice Beam freezes anything in its place SOLID
I think the barrier one at 1:05 is supposed to be gotten that way (I have never gotten it it any other way and the timing on the x is obviously late on purpose), otherwise, great finds. I particularly liked the Omega Metroid ones.
@saPower1000
Nightmare's arms don't hit you because you're charging your beam and spinning. I guess it gives priority to Samus' attack, but its arms don't take pseudo-SA damage. The same can be done against BOX, but you take damage as soon as you hit the face or the ground.
@rdNN1337
Near Ridley.
No, they'd still hit you...that or do damage to him. Believe me, I've tried so many times •~;
Aidan Cross You can spin jump through Nightmare's arms (only his arms!) if you have your beam charged.
Ohhhhh...so hit anything but the arms and you're ****ed...got it
Aidan Cross ah yes 2016, when everybody wasnt allowed to say nigga or fuck or any other bad word without being called scum of humanity.
you know that you can go back the way you came when you go into the secret path to sector 2, and you get to see the reactor working, this room has the most vivid of color in the game,
like so he can see this, maybe he could make a video of it too!
I ran into a glitch that I could only replicate once, and the glitch was that the second form of the SA-X would not die, it continued jumping and could not be hit
I was playing on my Gameboy SP when it happened.
That also happend to me
An 4:12 would've made it say "Freezing this creature at just the right place will cause, Um... THIS to happen."
0:13 Michael Jackson have Moonwalk, Samus Have Spacewalk lol 😆 (I know this joke is horrible, but give me a chance 🤕
As much shit as this game is getting for it's admittedly disgusting color choices on the main suit, the pixel art overall is sooooo damn good. The background work alone is insane, the tiles are really well done and some of the bosses are just outrageous.
1:04 That isn't the legit way to do it? XD
Can anyone explain the final glitch? How is it performed and is it possible to perform it consistency?
1:06 hey, I'm glad to know that I already knew at least this one! I always take that missile tank before leaving sector 4
6:35 Hard rock !
When SA-X is attacking the Omega Metroid you can look up by pressing UP, not a glitch or something but funny
i shot the omega metroid so fast that all i saw was a blue line and the omega died in like 10 seconds.
Good thing you didn't find the bug when exiting an elevator that *both left and right inputs* forced you to go only one direction.
Could you explain... Any of these? Annotations aren't a thing anymore :/
Now that's just cruel on the omega metroid. fuck the sa-x, but the poor metroid
Incredible! I will try these things in Metroid Fusion now.
Can you help me on 5:19?It is the sector 1 (SRX) but i cannot understand where exactly it is...
The x parasite will get caught in a meld loop where it waits for another x parasite to form a new foe.
the SA-X boss fight glitch it making panting noise it happend to me three times in a row
Anyone know what the first sceen is supposed to be showing? I can't figure it out.
At 2:33 how do u do that thing cause I wanna do that please help that shit looks fun
6:27
