Today we are looking at the Braided Solo Loop Apple Watch Band in Dark Cherry from Apple. I have been using the sports band with my Midnight Series 7 and wanted to try something new. Coming in at $99, the Braided Solo Loop band comes in 6 colours. I wanted something a little different but still understated, so I opted for the Dark Cherry colour. Which is a chique dark purple colour. That I think looks really sharp. The Braided loop is just a bit more formal compared to the sports bands and the Dark Cherry colour pairs seamlessly with the midnight Series 7. In terms of material the band is made of a polyester yarn braided around silicone thread that is finely interwoven creating this braided look. You can imagine for example pairing a tie or pocket square with the band, would look very classy. I am really enjoying the band so far, it adds some personality to the Apple Watch. On the wrist the band offers a soft, textured feel. By comparison the silicone band, which is already comfortable, the braided solo loop feels even more effortless. It also breathes better, especially nice when working out. Speaking of which the band is also sweat and water resistant. When buying, do make sure that you get the right size since these solo loops cannot be adjusted. I tried different sizes in the apple store to find the right one. Apple also offer a printout online to help you find the right size. The band is easy to take on and off and in my 2 months of daily use the elasticity has held it rigidity and hasn’t loosened over time. Overall I am really happy with this band, is it worth it? Like with all of Apple’s Watch bands, the price is steep. There are definitely cheaper 3rd party alternatives out there. However, from experience, I can tell you that Apple’s watch bands do provide a level of craftsmanship and quality that you will not find with most other bands. Apple’s bands also hold up well over time and since apple has kept the same watch and mechanism, means the you likely be able to use the band on future apple watches too!

I’ve got the standard loop, and a black Nike band, as well as a more formal one
I like any straps and bracelets that have a magnetic or velcro fastener. They are very easy to put on, very precisely adjustable, I can always either tighten or loosen depending on the situation.

Beautiful color...I wanted to buy the blue abyss one but this dark cherry is really beautiful! Can we say the same about the leather one as well or this color really shines more in the braided loop version?
Hi Francesco, thanks for your comment! To my recollection, from seeing the bands in the Apple store, the dark cherry colour is slightly more rich in saturation on the braided solo loop compared to on the leather which is a bit more muted. But this difference is minimal. I would base your decision on how you use your watch. The leather looks very sharp but the braided solo loop will be more durable and can be easily cleaned (better for working out) 👍

I’m using a graphite/black apple milanese on my starlight apple watch 7. I love it, it makes the watch feel more like a real watch imho. Fully adjustable size as well so that’s an added bonus

Looking at buying a AW S7 but confused between the 41 and 45mm size. My wrist is probably the same size as yours but not sure if 41mm is a good fit. There's also no Apple stores where I live which doesn't make it any easier!
Hi Nikhil, well, for me the 41mm work well; the 45mm (which I tried) felt too big for me. A pity there is no Apple store nearby; there should be one in every city :-)

If you size at home with a body tape measure, size DOWN. My size according to the website is a 5. Wish I'd gotten a 4. 5 is too big.
