Always good videos. I get the OCD deal…and there is no doubt that I feel better once I put a spit shine on whatever I’m repairing. Have a good weekend.

Putting a hoist on the ceiling in my garage years ago has come in very handy, as you say. I agree about balancing the blades. I just bought a blade balancer like yours! Thanks for another great video Hester!

Awesome fix and tutorial! Hester where do you get your parts from? Any good dealers for my ‘63 cub cadet? Fast shipping low prices? 😃👍

Thanks Scout! Parts can be hit and miss for stuff that old, but fortunately there is a cult following for those tractors and a lot of guys who are reproducing the hard to find parts. There’s a website called isavetractors.com and they have a ton of great stuff. At the end of the day really just depends on what parts you’re looking for. If you need any help tracking down parts don’t hesitate to ask! 👍🏻

That yoke you used to hoist the mower (hanging on your fasteners rack at 29:15) looks really familiar but I can’t place it. I’d like to fabricate something like that for myself, probably out of electrical conduit.
I’d also really like to wire in a remote to my lifting winch so I could lift things the way you did here. I use a rope on each end of the mower but it’s a PITA to set up every time. Even better might be a pair of yokes, front and back, although the rear one would be tricky due to all the obstructions.

I can’t remember where I got it but I think it’s some kind of general hanger for like a shed or garage. Yea I’ve been thinking of ways to improve the lift mechanism, I like your idea of going around the wheels! I think they must sell some sort of a generic wireless remote controller for winches, though I’ve never looked

I love the videos. I got a question. Is any possible way to show how to turn down the RP m's on a push mower?

    • @hester781

Thank you! So it’s going to be different from mower to mower, however generally you make small adjustments (bends) to the spring end of either the governor arm or the tab that the spring attaches to in order to put more or less tension on the spring which will then pull the throttle open farther. Just make sure you look up the max RPMs for that engine and have an RPM gauge on hand to measure 👍🏻

You mention OCD.......I don't accept that everything psychologist call a disorder is necessarily a disorder...to me it's only a disorder when it doesn't serve well and it otherwise disrupts your life flow, it's irrational....oftentimes it a very good thing to be obsessive about some things, when that obsessivene3ss serves well the situation and the obsessor.....there are certain things I'm obsessive about because I choose to be so.....I could choose to override that, I would be uncomfortable in doing so for a while....ask me how I know....life is good....Oden AR and La Grange TX

I couldn't agree more! Same as the definition of a weed - a plant you don't want. Some people love those plants!
