I had a big smile watching the kids with that pumpkins. But oh. Samantha covering Russel with mulch and him letting her do it. Then the little hello from Samantha Grace, best part of my day! And Benjamin helping the whole time. What a good boy he is.
Your comment took me to when I was a kid. We had a cat named Willie who was very tolerable as well. I have pictures with him in my doll stroller. He is laying on his back and is tucked in with blankets.

Samantha is adorable, but let’s not forget how adorable Benjamin is. He is such a good, sweet and loving little boy. You guys are raising great kids. These family moments should be treasured. They go by so fast. Your sweet mom probably feels like it was just yesterday that she was doing this with you, Joe and Monica at that same age.
I think it’s just that we don’t get to see Samantha as much, so it was a treat to get to see more of her.

What a FUN project to do with the kids. Benjamin has most definitely been absorbing the arranging gene! Please don't ever apologize for the 'abundant' way you decorate. We are all in different places in our lives and have different styles, tastes etc and although I could never afford to buy that many pumpkins and gourds where I live (they are super expensive) I do truly LOVE to see it done on someones step. So stunning and it makes me smile 🎃

I whole heartily agree about Thanksgiving. It's always been my favorite Fall/Winter holiday. No pressure, just family and friends getting together having an unstressed simple time to enjoy each other. It is too bad that Christmas is so commercial and so horribly expensive now, sometimes it just isn't fun. The walkways looks fabulous what a beautiful color.
My least fave holiday because I have to cook all day... Lol
Christmas is what you make it. It's OK to choose simple.
@@vickieyoung7122 I took advice from my mother and cook almost the entire meal weeks in advance and freeze it in freezer bags to just put in slow boiling water to heat (turkey already sliced, stuffing and gravy) on Thanksgiving Day. Tastes wonderful! I even freeze my pie dough and homemade filling separately to bake the day before. I make coleslaw night before and that just leaves the mashed potatoes to make on the holiday.
The turkey always looks pretty on a Thanksgiving table so I take a photo 😜. No one in my family misses it. They just want to eat it.😂. I have no stress that day! Thanks mom!

Okay, this makes me have to vote no on adding handrails back here. The side steps are so perfect to decorate! Seeing your family at the pumpkin farm was so fun! Benjamin thinking to leave his sword in the truck, and making a train with the carts, Samantha Grace wanting to taste the corn - Daddy's "no no no no no! Then Russell getting gently covered in mulch and the boxwood layout by the Hartley back at home. Thanks for an absolutely sweet share today.

Not too much - absolutely perfect!! The lanterns in the beds instead of on the stones is just right, giving a glow to the plants. The walkway looks great and more symmetrical.
Benjamin was so dedicated to this project - what an amazing attention span! And Samantha is so cute putting dirt on Russell - pets just seem to know when to be patient.

Laura, you win the "Super Mom" award! Shopping, watering, planting, decorating - all while videotaping the action. Benjamin is quite the helper and his addition of the lilac branch was so sweet. Seeing Samantha's smile as she mulched Russell was the frosting on the cake in this video. I can't begin to imagine if I had all of this activity planned for one day and videotaping as it happened. It wouldn't be "pretty!"

I just love this so much. I don't have to tell you, but enjoy these times with your little ones. It goes by so fast. Ibstill decorate, but it isn't nearly the fun it was when the kids were helping. I miss it so much. It is gorgeous.

Your pathways and stone patio look just stunning. The size is so appropriate to the house and surroundings which is so important. Laura, your visual way of designing is bang on! This video is a delight, I could watch it over and over again.
My understanding of polymeric sand is that it if too much is allowed to cure on the surface of the brick, it will adhere to the top of the brick & create a haze.
The brick pathway is beautiful though, and hopefully there’s a solution for cleaning them. The walkway and plant display is stunning!
That's my understanding as well. I hope it turns out the way she is wanting. We have used some on large projects and the brand we used directed to make sure any excess was gone before the watering to set it because it would just set on top of the stone.

Debbie ..I know Laura knits...maybe she made it??! I am a knitter too and Samantha's sweater was the first thing I noticed!!! I have seen a sweater pattern that is on Ravelry that looks very similar....the button detail on the cuffs is sweet!!

Also....make yourselves Christmas to also be easy going holiday, few years ago when my mom passed (she passed month before Christmas after three years battling cancer) we all agreed that we'll stop buying gifts to each other and turn Christmas into being with each other and spent some quality time instead of all hustle and bustle of holidays. I know, for people with kids, kids do expect presents under Christmas tree and we shouldn't take that away from them but for adults, presents are really not necessary, there's birthdays and anniversaries to give presents to your loved ones and they don't come all once so they don't become burden like buying presents for all. Now we give to each other small things, things you know that person love,box of chocolates, box of winter tea blends, pack of socks, mittens. Last year I done all my Christmas shopping online, in about half hour and for some 40 bucks. Make your life easier and let's take care of each others and not about presents that most often you don't even need or necessarily like what you get, or you don't have idea what to buy. Life is difficult enough, let's not complicated it even more. Love to you all 🥰

just thinking during this episode how much has changed, since i started watching several years ago, and how many wonderful things you guys have done even in just small areas. like, to think i was watching you guys for a good while before you even had Benjamin, now you have the two kids, they can both talk, walk, etc, like wow. and that back path is so beautiful, genuinely, like even beyond instagram/magazine worthy. and to think that's only the back entrance, whatever is done with the main front entrance will absolutely be beyond any of our wildest imaginations

Sometimes, when I watch your videos, I get emotional and cry, because you’ve created such a magical space for your kids to grow up in and I want to do the same for mine. I try! I have a really small house and a really small yard and an even smaller budget, but I still try. But boy oh boy… what I wouldn’t give to have a space like yours!

New Gardner in Ohio: Love how the back entrance turned out. The lanterns added a special touch to the whole area. Seeing the kids picking pumpkins 🎃 brought back some wonderful memories as my kids are now 24 and 18. I really miss those days.

You can't beat Brunnera for a great looking non-invasive but very hardy perennial for the garden. I especially love the blue flowers that come out in very early spring.

When Benjamin stopped to help clean the lanterns, it brought back all the memories of my 20 year old when he was a little guy and always so eager to help Mommy with every little project. He’s still the first one to volunteer to give me a hand when I need it, but it never gets old. Got me right in the mom feels today! 🥹
It doesn’t matter if it is “ too much” to some …it’s what you and Benjamin like that matters. 🥰
