- Stunning aerial footage of my three favorite lakes in the Kawartha chain of lakes in Ontario, Canada, part of the Trent Severn Waterway. The footage was shot in 4K, but will display here on UA-cam as 1080p. If you have not yet visited or boated on the Kawartha Lakes, I highly recommend it. I have also highlighted three of my favorite places to stay on Lower Buckhorn Lake and Lovesick Lake, you will find links to their websites below.
*FYI: I am not sponsored, nor have I been paid in any way by any of the resorts/lodges that I have listed. They are all family owned & operated businesses ran by awesome people, I'm simply trying to support them.

Awesome video. This is a great kayaking location.
Spectacular drone footage
Thanks buddy (o:
Amazing! Good job!
Great video and music.
Great video!
Used to fish there alot about 16+ yr ago. Miss there, especially Stoney lake. Caught Ski, bass, eye, etc
Makes us want to get on a plane or just start driving now!
Do it guys! (o; But you may want to wait until next Spring lol!
Hi Shaun I'm wondering if I can use your video on my real estate website. It really shows the area well. Thanks
Could please replace that music with the sound of the occasional chainsaw and the sound of 9 horse Evinrude purring across the lake in the distance. Then I would probably smell wet pine sawdust and 2stroke oil. Or the smell of a old wooden dock on a hot, bright , late summer day. So many memories of Ontario cottage country.
Went to school here for a year, amazing area, nice to see a great quality vid of it! What drone were you running?
Thank you Chris, this footage was shot using the DJI Mavic Air. I have since also bought a DJI Mavic 2 Zoom too, which I will be shooting this type of footage with from here on, so all my new footage should be further improved. I'm hoping to get up there this Winter to get some cool Winter footage of the snow and frozen lakes etc, cheers!
The intro song is 'Lagoon' by Jak. lol.
I found out they called it Stoney Lake for a reason after damaging a propellor.
Ditto 👍
I would not recommend the Kawartha lakes to anyone seeking a sense of seclusion. The Kawartha lakes have been cottaged out since the 1970s, as it's very close to Toronto, and many people are building more. The lakes are overcrowded, so there is not enough space for people to preform different activities on the water, such as fishing, tubing, see dooing etc. I'd highly recomend Manitoulin Island for anyone seeking a quiet place with not many people. It is far enough from Toronto that you don't get nearly as many cottagers.
@mdo686 The fishing does not compare to the fishing in Georgian bay.
@mdo686 The kawartha lakes have been cottaged out since the 1970s, so ya lol, just like lake simcoe.
@mdo686 As of September 9th 2009, all operators of pleasure crafts must obtain and carry a pleasure craft operators card in Ontario. I've had mine since I was 9, and I'm 22 now. Many people cruise with booze, which is very unsafe.
@mdo686 Go to Manitoulin island. That is where my cottage is.
@mdo686 well you would obviously carry nautical charts on board, lol
The Kawartha lakes are mainly visited by people from Toronto, who don't know what real beaty is. They think anything outside of downtown Toronto is nice. How sad is that 😥😥.
@mdo686 I'm joking, lol.
