Sauble Beach is a nice place to visit but the majority of the sandy beach is along private property so there are only a few places to really get to the beach or lake. And those places are always jammed packed full of people. There is not much parking, there are no places to change into your bathing suit or clothes afterwards (had to use the car- while in packed areas). If you have the opportunity to go then I would suggest go to say you got to see it but I wouldn't recommend putting this place on your "must see" places to go to.
And all these locations the water will be cold even on the hottest summer days. Some of the smaller lakes might warm up a little but they will still be cold. Any place on any of the great lakes will be freezing cold at all times even in a heat wave with 40C humidity. So don't expect to be in the water for long periods of time or warm water.

Temperatures in winter can drop to as low as minus 40C with the windchill it can feel colder however in Ontario that is not often (in the west Winnipeg Manitoba etc it is more common and lasts most of the winter). Ontario can and will drop to freezing cold temperatures however I believe it averages around minus 5 to minus 10 throughout the winter. And the temperatures can "swing". It can be below zero for a few days then a few days just about freezing then back below freezing etc. Last winter was different then most. It was above freezing almost every day (I have never seen that in 40 plus years- some say global warming others say El Nina- not sure but it was unusual)
Summers can and do get very hot and humid. Temperature can get to 40C and feel hotter with humidity. Summers can get hotter than a lot of tropical countries (Side story- I remember going to a tropical country in the Caribbean one year and it was 30C- the locals knowing I was from Canada kept commenting that I must be so hot because with this hot weather. I had to explain to everyone that it was actually cooler there because when I left it was 40C with humidity in Canada- middle of July).
So there can be a big temperature difference between winter (-40C) and summer (+40C)- could be as much as 80C difference between the two.
