I will be starting a SpanishPod101 course very soon. I am in the process of geting my fiance and her daughter, they are in the Dominican Republic, up to Wisconsin soon and I have such a strong desire to learn my fiances language so I can always communicate with her to limit misunderstandings. Thankfully her daughter knows english so that will be a huge help. I lived it out for a week when I visited my fiance fore the first time at the end of September.
I am learning Spanish because I am going to Mexico by myself and I want to talk to the people there and I've always wanted to be multilingual, and Spanish is really useful to know.
I've never heard of this program - thank you for this detailed review! The grammar content seems very helpful. I'm learning Spanish because so many people in my community speak Spanish and I want to be able to communicate with them!
@@no0144 hello! This program has been awesome. It’s definitely a great way to learn Spanish in meaningful context. I also love that complete lessons are devoted to grammar instruction. The lessons do take 30 minutes or more to complete, but I often split them over a couple of days if I’m pressed for time. Hope this helps!
Thank you! I’m trying to decide what is best to use because there are so many choices out there. I don’t have a lot of money to pay for subscriptions, but I want to learn Spanish.
I'm learning Spanish because I'm 51 years old and I feel like I don't have anything to do for myself. I've raised and homeschooled 6 children and now that most of them are grown I don't feel like I have my own identity. I've always been mom, wife, or grandma, but I dont feel like I know myself as an individual so I want to learn something new and exciting.
I have a new coworker whose first language is Spanish. He learned (and is still learning) English for the job. So I thought I should learn Spanish. It's only fair.
Nice video! I’m not learning Spanish right now but am totally open to it one day…. Right now French is taking up too much time😂 Spanishpod seems like a good option though
I'm looking for something to continue learning after finishing a Pimsleur course. German in my case, but I'll be doing Spanish too. Would you say this is a good course to get from maybe a lower intermediate level to a good B2 or above level?
Yes, GermanPod and SpanishPod could be a nice option for that situation, although if you're trying to really get to B2 or higher, think about Rocket Languages as well. All else being equal, we prefer their course for advanced learning, but this could be a fine option
@@TestPrepInsight awesome! I'm going through a series of trials to see what works for me. I got GermanPod yesterday. I'll check out Rocket next. Thank you!
There's also a free version of SpanishPod101 with lifetime accounts that have audio lessons without transcripts and features free PDF sheets and "word of the day."
I'm learning some Spanish since my brother in law is Spanish. Thanks for this video. I've never heard of the program. How do you think it compares with Pimsleur or Rocket?
Pimsleur and Rocket are like the gold standard for language learning. I’m currently using Pimsleur for Persian and Rocket for Spanish. I really like both. I’m curious to to hear how John will compare them. I know if you use the Test Prep Insight coupon code, you will get the BEST deal available for Rocket Spanish. I think it is 60% off.
I still prefer Rocket and Pimsleur. There are some parallels with these programs, but Rocket and Pimsleur are def more comprehensive programs. Full comparison coming soon!

This versus rocket Spanish and/or Pimsleur? Looking at these three. Thank you
We actually have that very comparison video coming out in here in 2-3 weeks :)
can you do a video on spanishpod101 vs pimsleur/rocket?
Yeah that would be a good comparison, thanks for the suggestion
Tried the free access, and its a brutal site.... trying to click on dialogue of a lesson and pop up ads are porn ads...
Glad I didn't opt into pay
