you are absolutely right. This is a serious safety hazard, Tata Motors should do a recall & fix this.
I would not have bought this car if I'd know if this drawback earlier.
As per mew safety standard , if vehicle may catch fire or accident central lock may get jam, to improve safety new regulations released..use child lock...this is not design error..

people saying this is because during impact doors should open. But as per me company has to develop a technology so that central locking should open in case of any accident. Just removing central locking is easy way for company but tuff for customer.
Bhai old day cars did not have central locking system. So if they are worried about central locking system then why don't they install those old system at least those were far better than this new locking feature of "Punch".
This is very valid point brought out by you. It can not be mixed child lock facility or impact sensed unlocking in case of emergency (just compare with Nexon, Harrier, Safari and Tiago). Not only children but also adults could inadvertently catch hold the lever while turning and the door would open. Tata should look into the matter immediately.
not only TATA, it is there in Skoda also but they say it is safety feature. Children are supposed to sit in back seat

Bhai, this is new type of lock fitted on many advance cars. If you want to sit ur child at back seat, u have to ON child lock on both back side doors.

I am seeing this video as my 2 year old kid opened door while running in highway in my new punch car.. I was alert.. and immediately held it and closed.. I have baleno with central locking.. until driver opens door no doors can be opened.. was very scary. Immediately stopped car put Child lock on both doors. now I have to get down to open door every time for rare passengers 🤕😢😥
I cancelled Punch because of this very annoying feature.

Bhai koi mujhe ye samjha de to yaha par door pock hua kaha par ? Matlab video se to yehi lag rha hai ki door lock nam ke cheez hi nehi hai isme. Agar koi bhi kabhi bhi door open karpe apne marzi se to locking to hai hi nehi na.

There is a lock lever exist on edges of rear doors to lock it move the lever to right direction to use the child lock lever function
Recently my small daughter was standing in front door holding window. I was so scare what if mystically a child touches door lock it just opens door. I feel like a big mistake buying Punch now.
Mujhe toh yeh feature acha laga child lock on rakho because mostly piche mummy and kids beththe hain mostly time woh utarte time piche se kya aa raha hai dekhte nahin hai so we can open door for them every time its not a problem .It. takes only second to open door for them

एक्सीडेंट केस में जब सेंट्रल लॉक जाम हो जाता है तब यही सेफ्टी फीचर बन जाता है। टाटा ने यह जान बूझ कर फीचर दिया है इसे अनसेफ्टी नही कहा जा सकता है।

The doors could be easily opened if any mishap occurred. The rescue people find it very difficult to open doors and save people . So this kind of opening technology is adopted in many european countries and Indian government also asked the car makers to do like this. Soon this kind of opening technology will be made compulsory for cars. So inorder to safeguard our children please allow them to sit in rear seat with belt on and child lock of doors also ON

This is very foolish excuse. Child lock is shit. Anyone can open the door from outside , when the driver is not around.
Also , for a once in while accident scenario, your are risking your everyday travel in tata. Very poorly done tata enginners. I was so close to buying one punch. Now I am not that interested. As a driver and responsible captain, i should have control of my vehicle's and traveller's safety.

Locking system is not good in tata punch
There will be 4 wires at each of the rear door actuators. Just cut the 2 thin wires at both the actuators. That's it. It's a simple fixed.

Yeh European standard hai. Renault duster me bhi aisa hai.
Front doors can be opened from inside with lever even during vehicle movement. But rear doors have child lock notch. So keep always keep children at rear seats.
Also it has impact sensing auto door unlock for safety purpose.

Auto lock system should lock all doors while running. May be punch does not have this.

It's one of the safety features by gncap if there is an accident door will open automatically..it's not fault..
In TATA Punch and Altroz the door will never lock because the same door opening liver is using for locking and unlocking. In other cars we have a dedicated lock for locking the door.

As per GNCAP there should not be any auto locking feature in a car. If child is seated use child lock. And adult passangers should use seatbelts.
