Schubert was one of the most complex artist. All his music is amazing, it's like to travel in time, between the good filosophy and excellent and exquisit music 💜
For me Schubert is the more natural successor to Mozart. The music, although far more romantic in style lacks the anger and power of Beethoven. The music just seems to roll along in its own pace, almost unawares of the giant of Beethoven over Schubert's shoulder. And that's why Schubert can hold his own has a great composer..
Yeah it's really fascinating how Schubert is so unique as a composer despite his great respect and love for Beethoven. You'd imagine them to share more similarities.
Schumann was right in saying that during the day he could not talk about Schubert, he could do it only at night, and only by turning to the trees and the stars.
Just marvellous marvellous music once again. What a composer! Thank you so much brilliant classics and the players involved. I listen to this and I feel much better about life and the world and my place in it and I hope others do the same.
Thank you Brilliant Classics for restoring all these older recordings of classical music and making them all sound like they were recorded yesterday! Veel dank!
Schubert's violin/piano pieces especially fantasie D 934 have been at the top of my favorite music since hearing Kremer/Afanassiev at LAngeles concerts 1992 when they recorded them thankfully. Thanks for posting these
Franz SCHUBERT (1797-1828) The Complete Music for Violin and Piano Grand Duo for Violin and Piano in A Major, D574 [21:50] Fantasie in C major for violin and piano, D934 [23:26] Sonata (Sonatina) for violin and piano in D major, D384 [11:50] Sonata (Sonatina) for violin and piano in A minor, D385 [20:08] Sonatina (Sonatina) in G minor, D408 [14:24] Rondo brillant in B minor, D895 [14:21] Sonata in A minor Arpeggione D821 [20:59] György Pauk (violin), Peter Frankl (piano); Paul Olevsky (cello); Walter Hautzig (piano) (Arpeggione) rec. 1964 BRILLIANT CLASSICS 95115 [57:14 + 70:01]
I listened to it while walking through "Romita," that landmark alley in Col. Roma, and again at lunch, ' Mia Domenicca' (Calle Durango). Wonder how the air and heat are now? Greetings from Puerto Aventuras, Q.R!
Absolutely impeccable Arpeggione! I heard Rostropovich, Yo-Yo Ma numerous times and always considered them Masters beyond approach. Now there are three of them. Bravo Paul Olevski!
I'm not an "expert" in classical music, I often put during work some of the biggest composers music, and Schubert just "click" to me more than others. Is that unexplained feeling of classical music that connects inside you.
0:21:53 this opening will always remind me of the old women I read about in the papers who dies from frostbite. It was around 1983 I believe. I was a trenaget living in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A man had dropped his mother off at her home and drove away without staying to see that she got into her home. She froze to death on her front porch. I had just gotten a few records from the library of Schubert. When this song came on the opening put me on that woman's front porch. I could almost see her breathing her last.
The lied is Schubert's domain of excellence, his natural trend. So, it is quite outstanding to hear the dut ets, in which we could anticipate that the violin could "replace" the singer's voice. This is more or less true in terms of expression, but Schubert never forgets that he has to write for a violin in its musical idiom. The writing and the balance is quite different than in lieder, and Schubert is fully aware of it.This specific throughput is quite specific (and poorly known in Schubert(s works. Peter Frankl s a clever pianist .We have to be grateful to him for having opened this world to us. Pauk is excellent tooo.
Yes, the painting! I clicked on the site just to get a better view of the painting. Someone please tell us who the painter was. The music that followed is quite delightful and wonderfully performed.
Blithe Bird, sing, sing, gladden our hearts, whether it be winter or spring/ every note shall be remembered as sorrows we have set aside/ peace, the sweetest peace and joy shall abide. Sing, sing. sing, let me hear thee, as I go to sleep--in eternity. Self-taught melodies-writer from Melbourne
Buenos dias. Saludos.
I read in a biography of Schubert that he was in love with a simple young lady, not very pretty but gentle, a singer, but he could never marry her because he was not rich enough. She waited for him a long while until she could not wait any longer.. I found this story sad sure but very romantic too ...
Reminds me of that glorious summer day in 1820. Memories.... 💗💗
Wonderful dear Schubert....look what he gave to the world.....yet swept away far too soon. He would have never known how deeply he is loved today

not history back then just reality ... Schubert was the purest and luckiest in technical evolution spirit of all of us ... miracle ....
Hummel is more of a complete successor
Because Schubert is too gloomy, while Mozart very cheerful and playful
Superlative! Schubert standing before us as only he could. Thank you! Thank you!
Emotivno polje je široko. Od pojava, prirode, životinja, do ljudi.

I'd rather face the chilly Mexico City air than the eastern month long cold dreary rain shower I am perpetually under...
Wonderful playing by the artists.
This work is full of the unfathomable attraction , and comfortable to the ear and the mind

you don't have to be an expert
listening to classical music
Schubert has something special I agree. Intimacy and a certain melancholy I guess.
Schubert is the same for me. Some celebrated composers do nothing for me. Not so Schubert.
Great Music for peaceful mind, thank You.

Hey
Thanks for uploading!
It pains me a little that Schubert didn't live to write at least one violin concerto. Would have been one of the greats in the repertoire.
You're probably right, although so many of Schubert's works were discovered in an old drawer or cupboard decades after his death.
Belíssimo 💖
