I dont know if a $26 metal detector can find anything, but I have a $1500 one that I can not find anything with
For 26 bucks, you could pay it off quickly. I use my Nox 600 on all metal most of the time anyway, since I dig all targets. There is less trash in the water than in the dry sand, so any good signal that comes up is fair game for me. I had my Nox 600 set to all metal one night hunting in the beach water and got a 15 on the VDI. Thought it was going to be a rusty bottle cap. It ended up being a Neal Lane 14k white gold wedding/engagement ring encrusted with diamonds. It’s value new $10,000. Chaaaching!! _/ 👍
Awesome man! I used to look through those Garrett magazines with all kinds of epic treasures in them I think that gave me the gold bug. I still am hopeful some day I could find something very valuable. Still fun though
This is a refreshing change we need more of the cheapie.
That would be a good starter machine for my 6 year old granddaughter.
You should totally use the detector till it’s paid off. Make a series out of it. It would be fun to watch how closer and closer you get to pay it off.

Never in my 73 years have I ever owned a detector. Don't want this one, but I'm sure rootin' for ya to pay this bad boy off! I need a pinpoint function, along with all the other accrutra... acrutram... stuff. Thinkin' Minelab's cheapest, or maybe the Doc. Ot's

Might not last, but if you have a little ability with a soldering iron, if anything comes loose you should be able to fix it . Water damage wouldn't be fun though.

I started with a crappier detector than that, I found a lot of cool stuff with it, after all it's a metal detector, it's going to find metal. If that's an 8 inch coil it should see 8 inches into the ground, frequency doesn't have a problem with dirt.
I like it. Haven’t been convinced yet to get one. Yes like to see in at the park.
I bought my first detector on Amazon for $69. It's a Sun-Pow and takes 8AA batteries. I bought rechargable Energizer batteries for it and they work great. I actually let my kids use it when 2 or more of them want to go with me. It has paid itself off🤷♀️ I did but the Simplex+and Legend since then.

They all work the same way. What's good about the dirt cheap units is that they get people interested in the hobby. Can't bitch about that. Stay dirty 👍
I use cheap metal detector now, paid 25$CAD on marketplace. See on my channel I tested it . And I use it with regular 9v battery because it last long. Lithium 9V battery I use with the pinpointer. I like cheap metal detector because it lack metal discrimination and you just dig everything and have a lots of surprise founds.
I bought 9v rechargeable batteries for my Fisher CZ21 . It takes 4 of them. On the cheap detector , you just need one nice find to pay it off !
Thanks for the info, Brian! Will definitely have to invest when this battery dies out. I think it's got a chance, it has really surprised me. Seems to work a lot better than the really cheap digital machines.
I can tell ya I bought a cheap detector awhile back at harbor freight and it takes two nine volt batteries and I can tell you the energizer lithium batteries would work the best in them and would last the longest I haven’t used it in awhile since I got the 540 but I could fire it up right now and it wasn’t half bad especially for a kids detector my younger son and daughter both have enjoyed them plenty of times
My buddy has the Harbor Freight detector - no bells or whistles, but it gets signals in the dry sand and dirt, and he digs them up.

Thanks for doing the beach video! I feel like that detector would end up being like the "trunk gun" of detectors: just toss it in the back to keep a spare one on you for times of "just-in-case".

I have rechargeable 9v on my cheap pinpointer. They only charge up to 8.5v but it works. I got 5 for $45 so that kind of blows the budget up 🙂

Sad but they did, cheapest one I can find now is $73. Keep your eyes out for returns, can get really good price on those.

Love your videos….Those of use who know you know that you’ve swung everything from cheapo to deus 2 and most detectors in between. I actually liked this video. The little cheapo finds metal. I’d bet it pays for itself in less than a week. I’d be curious to see what it does in a dry park. Oh, btw…I got my legend dialed in. Love it. It had a bit of a learning curve, but man, once that thing is dialed in…it finds the goods.
This little thing has surprised me, thought for sure it would be a dud! Looking forward to bringing it out again soon (:

I wonder if it’s 3 kHz, or 6 kHz. It looks like an old DetectorPro Head Hunter design.
It claims 2.4KHZ but don't know if that's true, those headhunter detectors look pretty interesting!

Well , for the money you paid for it and the fact that it detects metal with a one tone and it does detect at depth regardless of what ever metal that may be in the ground/sand wet or dry it ticks all the boxes most expensive detectors handle much the same as your pinpointer does. I'm not going to go and buy one I have one EL' CHEAPO I pulled out of a camp ground dumpster a while ago no waterproof anything on it and it supports the "AA" battery manufacturers with a whopping 8 "AA's" to run a basic detector system with the same array of knobs and volume/ discrimination as the one you are using except it has a box system like most old style detectors and it has a black plastic extension tube that freely slides up and down but it does detect metal regardless of what ever it is , the only drawback is the batteries which is exy and probably why it was in the dumpster it just doesn't find gold or silver specifically it finds all metals which is what "METAL DETECTORS" are made to detect. So for a beginner it may be a good learning tool but you could mount a pin pointer on a conduit tube and do exactly the same thing with the exception being the latest MineLab pin pointer . I guess that's a thumbs up👍👍👍for value for money and detecting metal and having a waterproof coil and an easy to use headphone system . So yeah! WHIP IT GOOD for all it's worth.
