Sometimes I watch UA-cam videos from people who are very green and low waste. I aspire to be like them. Then I will do one insulin pump change and I’m like, “Oh yeah, that ain’t me.”

Maybe a wildlife rehab center near you would be able to find a use for your used syringes, they can clean them out and use them for feeding babies or give oral medication, that way they dont have to spend money on buying them. And 'single use only' means 'use until the plunger doesnt push down smoothely anymore' in the NGO rehab world (:

Oh & P.S Thanks for sharing so much of your most vulnerable moments with us. The wind has been terrible here in Nebraska and very cold...we had a 3 story apartment building catch on fire yesterday right down the street from me and leave all the occupants without a place to live including 2 morman missionaries...if the wind would have been any worse it would have caught the other houses near by on fire also...please pray for them

I was surprised to see the dexcom transmitter on your arm. My trainer and the Dexcom people always recommend anywhere on the abdomen as the best place for readings. but obviously this is not set in stone LOL. you and the little girl from the Dale tribe both have it on your arms. I've never had any kind of pain wearing it on my abdomen. the tip of the small threaded piece that stays in your arm when the needle is removed may be hitting a muscle when you move a certain way. When you see the endocrinologist again mention that you don't feel the lows sometimes until it reaches 55 or lower. This is a sign of hypoglycemic unawareness. it another way to convince the insurance company that you need this for safety reasons.

It used to be tradition to throw nurses into the scrub trough or bath at work on their last day, but infection control stopped that years ago. So one day we tricked 2 staff members onto the balcony at the end of shift and used the water guns/50ml instead! They are fun!! We haven't done that in years.

I do not have CF, but I had bronchitis last year and used a nebulizer, inhaler, and antibiotics for one month. I would cough so hard which caused headaches like I had never had before in my life. My cough sounded like you today. I CANNOT imagine this is part of your daily routine. It took a toll on my body, poisoned my appendix and I ended up having an emergency appendectomy. My ordeal ends up being so minor compared to CF life. Love the kiss from Ollie. Have a good week Frey family.

I use Dexcom, and the sensor can hurt sometimes, especially when you wear it on really slender areas (which seems unavoidable in your case). It shouldn’t be super painful. As long as it’s only when you move certain ways or bump it, I’d say it’s normal. If the pain is constant or extreme it usually means you hit a nerve or capillary...and while it’s not a problem physically, I’d still change it out.
Also, sometimes they bleed, that’s not anything to panic about, as long as the blood doesn’t flood the plastic piece under the transmitter, those can actually be the most accurate.

Your comments about the lights flickering made me wonder what the medical implications of a power outage are for Mary? I know all the pumps and nebs and the vest need to be charged, so how long can you go in a power outage before needing to go somewhere else?

I'm use to having pumpkin pie cold as well.
My sister in law who is from Ghana serves it warm, I never heard of that until then.
I prefer it cold, but when she serves it I will eat it warm. I don't want to hurt her feelings. 😊
