The events in the DS9 battles took place only because it was in the script. So much was just not consistent with Star Trek cannon. Like Captain Sisko bring only a mere captain would never be in command of such a large fleet. And many of the ships in these battles apparently forgot to raise their shields, as they were destroyed immediately. And when Dominion ships decided to ram the Federation or Klingon ships, apparently they had no tracker beam to haul the Dominion approach. I also wondered about the tight ship formations, doesn't make them easy targets? Oh well, budget limits.

DS9 is one of my favorite Star Trek series. It often had large-scale ship battles. But the starship battles while visually stunning did not make sense. Neither side ever displayed any tactics. They just attacked each other in a large wave & each ship seemed to operate independently. And they often fought each other on the same axis as if they were surface ships rather than flying 3 dimensions in space. When Starfleet joined the Klingons or Romulans in a joint battle the forces often intermingled rather than fight with their own units. That made any military sense. When the US fought w/ Allies in WW1 and 2 they kept the armies in separate areas of operations so as not to cause confusion. Separate navies know how to fight with their own units that’s how they train. I’m sure Klingons & Romulans also trained with their own too. It makes no sense for all ships to be intermingled in the way depicted on screen.
I like the fact that when the Jem Hadar ships couldn't hurt that big Federation ship with their guns one of them just drove right into it, lol. Victory at any cost.
The invasion of Chin'toka makes the least sense. Like, yes, I get it, artistic license and all. But if you think about it, why would the capital ships need be at point blank range to destroy stationary targets?
0:30 seconds. What is the Galaxy class made of, or hauling in its hold that would make it go up like that? Is the hull and all its internal structure built of Explodium? Seriously, even with high-powered weapons, an actual ship being destroyed, would, in most cases, looks fairly anti-climatic. The roman-candle explosion depicted here, would be pretty rare. After all, all you need to do to destroy a ship in deep space, is open up its hull in enough places so it loses life-support. Game over unless the enemy crew can breath vacuum. No explodium required.
Federation starships warp cores are always getting damaged and or exploding. A feature, not a bug. They are so unstable and dangerous it is a wonder the galaxy class ever got certified as space-worthy . Is the pentagon and its contractors managing Starfleets MIC in the future? They must. OR, knowing how dangerous these ships warp cores, transporters and holo-decks are, it is a wonder they can find anyone willing to actually crew these interstellar death and mayhem magnets in the first place. Maybe they get hazard pay? Oh wait, the federation has outlawed money, so, that cant be what motivates people to serve on the USS Explodium. Must be some other reason(s)...... I donno...
I love DS9 battles but its hilarious how horribly inaccurate space-age weapons became since TNG...somehow missing with beam weapons that travel instantaneously to where the ship is targeting. The same series had the Enterprise-D firing at a particular spot at a planet's crust needing to maintain a stable orbit so the aim didn't shift at all... at the rate the Dominion was going with the Defiant they'd have missed the planet entirely :P
The Star Trek Series never had real maneuver like fleets in battle, this comes the closest to that. B5 and Battle star Galactica got better space battles than Star Trek, maybe Star Wars with the addition of fighters is better than Star Trek.
You'd think Star Trek's technology has grown. Why not place orbiting droids around near the perimeters of where the ships shields should be. U can add extra phasers, and they can absorb some of the phasers blasts. Cause Star Trek viewers know that it takes awhile for that colored beam to hit that other ship
GREAT VIDEO, DS9 KICKED ARSE, THIS GOT TO BE THE BEST SPACE FIGHTS IN STAR STEK FRANCHISE, i think i appreciate DS9 more now, because it had deeper story lines, diversity, religion, this was a time PC culture wasn’t an issue, now the left has affected so many storylines in TV and film eg. the last Jedi that it’s become laughable and sad. i hope Star Trek Discovery begins to concentrate on the other characters, concentrating on say mainly 3 characters is so 1960s, i hear they’ve sacked a few directors in the new series, because they over spent on the first 2-3 episodes, plus i find it funny that the main character is called a man’s name Michael? ex president Obama made a speech saying me and Michael (not Michelle) are grateful, then Joan Rivers bless her soul, that died suspiciously said she was really a man, so is this a nod again in a subtle way to the left? anyway these were the times storylines were more realistic. even though technology CGI etc makes the new space battles on Star Trek Discovery (STD) (sounds like a sexual disease) lmao.. are so much better, they need to go back to the TNG, the new series which McFarland wanted to take over the new star trek series, has done The Orville, i think thats more star trek than Star Trek. and humour injected into it, is soooo refreshing. They missed a great opportunity with Steph, the new STD series (lol still smiling on this one)Steph has been sued by paramount that owns the rights to the star trek franchise and films because they’ve breeched some copy right laws, this why the new star trek series and films cant look the same as TNG, STV and DS9 and sure Enterprise finally got it together in series 2/3, it was a criminal offence that this series was axed, they made a massive mistake there, there’s allot of series lately they’ve just done one series and it was great then they’ve axed them and then allowing other series that are so mind numbingly crap to carry on, like The Grim, if it wasn’t for the fans it wouldn’t have reached season 6, they axed that. that was great, on Netflix now if you’ve not seen it yet. i hope they bring it back on, even with the same actors older and the son and daughter at the end has great potential.

The invasion of Chin'toka makes the least sense. Like, yes, I get it, artistic license and all. But if you think about it, why would the capital ships need be at point blank range to destroy stationary targets?
why deepspace nines photons so powerful?? they are almost completely ignoring shields and punching straight through
The bravest beings in the entire universe are people who board Miranda class with goal to fight the uber powerfull Dominion xD
It's like the people who wrote for Deep Space Nine totally forgot that ships have shields that aren't paper thin.....
Actually that is an Excelsior Class ship. An Ambassador Class Ship was the Ship that the Enterprise C was it was only ever featured in one episode
If you relate to 4:22-4:27 I'm sorry because if you get hit by twin galaxy class back to back you will die
Without consulting the all-powerful Google, I'm 99.99% sure it's from "The Jem'Hadar," and the GCS in question is the USS Odyssey.
For me Kirk had a message, Piccard maybe, now? Just trash
Photon torpedoes work in destroying ships with a single shot when fired from DS9
Ты че творишь Энакин, тебя посадять по первому приказу F,b r
DS9, by far the most violent Star Trek made to date and the best in my opinion 👌
At 0:23, which episode was that where the Galaxy Class ship was destroyed after being rammed?
lol i forgot how fast ships die in ds9 .its like they didnt have much sheilds at all
Red shirt assigned to a peregrine fighter: Ah fuck.
I donno...
Im going to say it.
This looks like *_Star Wars_*
Is the crisis they had not enough money too protect all the base...
Awsome epic
I still get a bit choked up over the Odyssey
What a great Nerdfest !!!
Shut the fuck up
Wesley Gnandt Waaaa Mommy where's my bottle !!! Lmao
Indeed... today IS a good day to die! ;)
Prog X probably 10 feet up ur fat ass
If a galaxy class ship know its going into combat why wouldn't the Capt. Separate the saucer section first?
Run the ship from battle bridge. Use the saucer as armour .... Also bigest phasers are on the saucer
I love that moment when the Cardassians turn on The Dominion.
Это мой корабль энтэрпраз,какие претензии ко мне
I love the colour of the Dominion ships
Seltsam ist allerdings bei diesen Gefechten bekommt man den Eindruck das keines der Schiffe ihre Schielde aktiviert haben
Why the hell does starfleet send in 100 year old Miranda and Excelsiors that are obviously outgunned
Tough little ship 😉👍
Итог,придёт е к разбитому карыту!
If Star Trek was a Star Wars movie:
My favourite part of Sacrifice of Angels clip is when the Klingons arrive and just blow the crap out of some of the Cardassian/Dominion Ships!!
Like Rohan arriving at the Field of Celebrant, and later Pelennor Fields!
Miranda class aka... meat shield
Mind if I borrow this to make a personal video?
