Commenting in support of basket lights 😁
Yes!!! And why do i feel like good ones are so hard to find
@@TheSweetgurliee YES! Or they’re super expensive!
Me too!!
I love them...have them everywhere in my house
I call my shades beehives and create excellent design reflecting on ceilings and walls, I love it
If you want color added to a space, just ask AG!! 🎨🪴🪞 That gallery wall is epic 🖼️🖼️🖼️🖼️🖼️
To piggy back my comment- maybe a video of going over personal ephemera with a client and show them how to use things they already own to make a gallery wall or a style a shelf? That would be so interesting, explaining the why of placement to someone!
Love this idea! That gallery wall turned out beautiful but I was kinda sad because the art was impersonal and meant nothing to the owner. I wish AG had gotten the person to pick like 10 pieces out of a shortlist of 20?
@@sophiakrishnan2053 same!! I feel like i have an eye for decorating but some people don't, no shame to that, and it would have been cool to go through her stuff with her to pick out some stuff for the wall! I get that this was a puece for the internet but - i felt the same way when it was all impersonal prints on the wall because the wall is awesome!
@@lesleyhughes849 i love to decorate and my space, at first glance, can seem minimal but i tuck little special moment into almost every play my eyes land- it's nice to be surrounded by good memories! There seems to be a ton of disposable decor out on the market now, especially with the pandemic, we all needed affordable pueces to give us a change of scenery but at what cost?
I love the idea of doing this with the Earth in mind! Good idea!
"I just took a step back-a-roni, and now I'm going to reveal it to myself."
Gater, you're so cute.
Also, I have to say Lindsey, I think the original light fixture would've looked amazing in there too.
the light, the wall baskets, the dried florals. KILLED IT :)
This is my favourite makeover you’ve ever done! I want it in my house 😍😂
Ok my dining nook looks like the before shot... I gotta give it a makeover!!
James took an extra sassy pill when editing the first half of this video and I love him for it!
I love how I feel you more and more empowered, and I feel it has a lot to do with the ppl your surrounding yourself with (and obviously, a lot of self love and trying to be better). The way Carla spoke about the pom poms, the way James edit this videos, the help you get from Alana, it feels like watching some friends making fun of with each other and with each other, if that makes any sense. Yas for all of that, thanks and more please ♥
I mean.... come on... that gallery wall is just EVERYTHING! Wow! What a great combo of prints and plants. When I look for prints online I get so overwhelmed but somehow Alexandra made it look easy peasy. So impressed!
Team AG just keeps getting BETTER and BETTER! This is awesome! Epic transformation!
Team AG! Woot - woot!
Galley wall kept the books from taking over the space. Now it all looks great together. Great job, Alexandra!!
Alexandra, I love how you giggle with delight during the reveals. It warms my heart. ❤️
I can imagine Alexandra walking out the door and throwing her fist in the air like that guy at the end of the breakfast club 😂
Amazing job AG 👍
Its a beautiful basket light, ignore the haters 😂
The whole nook is beautiful!
Like the arch but that basket lite makes it stand out Beautifully..
the editing in this video I can't LOL James you're hilarious
I thought the same thing!
I love the mirror, the rug, the styling on the table...and those plants gosh... Everything
I was dubious about the gallery wall and the arch but they look absolutely amazing. It really added dimension and interest to the room. Wonderful job!
The audacity of painting a dark colour while wearing a white shirt... I am shook 😂
LOL. I have often marveled at AG's fashion choices for painting!
Was she wearing Dani's merch, which a white shirt you're meant to get paint on?
i'm shook too but decided to turn it into INSPIRATION! i have HATED painting all my life so always hired professionals... but, lockdown, and i decided to have a closet professionally organized. that meant (GASP!) painting it first! i shut down my doubts with one question: "what would alexandra do?" in the time it would take me to overthink it, she'd have just freakin' opened the can, painted, and been DONE! so i'm proud to say i've since painted a small closet, a bathroom, and a walk-in closet. gotta love our AG!!
I bet she went to an Italian restaurant afterwards, too.
3:06 I AM ROARING!! The edibles, no no, I mean the editing is COMEDICALLY ARTISTIC, in every way!! It's a Lucy & Ethel kind of talent, period. Your team seems to not only be your team but also your tribe! Jacksonville FL, LOVE Y'ALL MUCH!! WHAT TALENT! "It's a mood, ok"!
I agree with keeping a table set-up all the time. It really makes the difference in the whole feeling of the space. I have a table cloth from Turkey that was a birthday gift from a friend with all those beautiful reds, greens and gold that I love. I fold it the long way and use it as a runner. I have yellowish green woven "grass" place mats my son and his wife brought from Belize. I have yellow glass fish candle holders that my dad got from Smithsonian catalog, and in the center a small olive green tureen in the shape of a cabbage that I got from my sister-in-law. So just looking at the table reminds me of friends and family and brings me joy.
What a charming and cheerful space. My favorite bit is the circle shaped wall vases with the dried floral. Those would be fairly easy to DIY.
I would love to know your thoughts on DYIing the circle shaped wall vases. I LOVE them but they are out of stock. All I can think of would require soldering metal........
@@Randis-vv5hg How wedded are you to having the vase actually made out of metal? My first thoughts were of pvc pipe or cardboard tubes and metallic paint.
After reading your comment, I thought of pipe strapping. I think taking a trip through a hardware store or home center would yield some interesting ideas.
I am mostly enamored with the shape and how it divides the floral element into three sections. Most floral arrangements hide a good percentage.
An embroidery hoop could be employed too. That could be tricky because of the narrow depth. Not sure how wide a hole could be cut out of an embroidery hoop.
I really like the idea of using cardboard tubes and metallic paint. I’m planning on using paper for the plants anyway. I make paper flowers and leaves pretty regularly. I’m a collage artist who is mucking it up with paper all the time.
If your aesthetic runs more toward natural elements (mine so does not) it’s trickier but still doable. If you use a metal sheet cut into strips, your design could join two semi- circles and blend the join with the hardware for wall attachment. I think I need to look at a still pic of the vase because I no longer remember how it hung on the wall.
@rtd1791 Thanks for your great response! I love your ideas. If I can get something cobbled together I’ll post a photo. Thanks again!
I went back to the video and took a screenshot since the actual vase has been discontinued. In my memory the vase was made of a thicker material. I thought the circle was created by just cutting a section of brass pipe.
I did make a cursory search for metal pipes but all had much thicker walls and narrower diameters. Plus that is a much more expensive option. So is metal sheeting.
Yeah, after looking at my screenshot and zooming in, I think I’m using cardstock to do this. You could use one of the metallic cardstocks, there are so many in a variety of finishes or you could just paint cardstock. This is actually an easy and super cheap DIY if you use some form of paper. Painted cereal boxes would get the job done.
Paper is an extremely durable material. It’s still humanity’s most archival material plus it can and has lasted for thousands of years. But say you had an accident during a wild game of Nerf and crushed the vase, it’s cheap and easy to replace.
How great is it that something so appealing is so easy to achieve? Do you think it will become a trend?
JAAAAMES! You’re editing is killing me 😂
So evil to play ‘hello darkness my old friend’ while she does math. That cracked me up.
I love this cause even though the dining room is window less- it makes it feel fresh and warm.
This is my favorite gallery wall I've seen! Love the addition of plants.
Baskets lights are a mood. PeriodT
I love the basket lights!! As long as the rest of decor matches ( and it always does in your designs🤩) I think the basket light is the best choice!!
I’m not one to go for a green color but that green colored arch does really look good with a gold framed mirror. They perfectly complimented each other. Good job Team AG!
Love the gallery wall. Especially with the plants 🪴
And it matches the colored bookshelf that's on the right.
I have to admit I'm not usually in favor of a basket light but this basket light is beautiful!!
Adding baskets and greenery to a gallery wall is a stroke of genius!!
I hung 20 smaller (8x10) pics in a grid. The key is to use command strips with velcro pic hook. You can't screw up no matter how hard you try and no holes in the wall!! Great job!
Wow this is probably my favorite makeover that you've ever done (and I really do like most of them a lot). So pretty! I love the olive green paint.
Love, love your painted arch. May I suggest you paint the outlet. I always paint them and make them disappear. Fantastic job on this makeover. So accessible to everyone. Keep up the great work. Love all of you, but must say James is my favorite. He's so talented and funny. You have the best team.
This is Modern Western
I LOOOOVE BASKET LIGHTS! Yeah for basket lights...more basket lights!!! Lol. No, really. I do love them.
Not only am I not going to hate on the basket light, I'd even go further and swap that bookshelf for a rattan one! So much warmth and personality, love the makeover.
Everything about this room is adorable, beautiful, and so welcomingly cozy. 💛💚
James, I love your timely inserts...
Hello Darkness ... blink blink ... etc. 😂✌🏼
Nice job unifying the space with small touches. I can see how the arch painted shape matches the mirror, the shape of the basket light and some of the print designs. It came out lovely
Your channel holds a special place in my heart because yours was the very first makeover video I ever watched on UA-cam right at the very beginning of the pandemic (I am old school (or just old) and thought this site was for music!). It was Carla's apartment makeover. I binged all your videos that night and even went back to Chatelaine to watch your shows there. I love your style, your content, your personality on air. And I wait patiently each week for more.
This is such a lovely comment. Thank you!!
@@AlexandraGater, I am most assuredly old enough to be your Mom, and yet I totally fangirled when I saw you read my comment! Happy Friday to you, so looking forward to this weekend's video. P.S. I also follow Danie because of you (I "met" her during the bedroom/laundry room portion of Carla's apt makeover). And I cannot wait for more of your new series together.
The gallery wall is EVERYTHING
the gallery wall is everything!!! Minus the dried flowers
You knocked it out of the park! Love the arch & gallery wall. And yes the basket light, lol!
I love that there's a green arch in one of the prints and on the wall! Also, using plants in the gallery wall is so beautiful. I just wish there was a bar cart under the mirror; it's the perfect place for it.
yes!! a gold and glass bar cart would have been fabulous!
Alexandra has really inspired me. Her use of really cool wallpapers (other vids), strategic moulding, and addition of plants are really great ideas that I have latched onto. I mean, sure, I have seen similar techniques on other home improvement channels/shows, but they didn't seem attainable for my regular - lower income - life. But team AG makes this stuff seem pretty do-able in "real life." As a disabled woman, I would need to acquire help, but it still seems in the realm of possibility. I hope to be able to improve my room/bathroom using some of the ideas from this channel. It's a shame they're so far away from me (Midwest USA); I'd love nothing more than a new look or even a face lift for my environment from Alexandra. Cheers!
I wish I had enough money to get Alexandra to New Zealand so she could do my entire house...you are totally cracking it girl.
I wasn't on board with the green till you threw up that mirror. Absolutely amazing job. It was beautiful and has given me inspiration about what to do with our little 'foyer'/ office space
Love how this turned out!!! A small floating shelf under that mirror would have been so cute as well
That’s exactly what I was thinking!!!
Oooooo yes!
Pom-poms and basket light, everyone needs a trademark! Also I’d like to add coming from a 69-year-old grandmother you continue to improve and improve in your trade, and I thought you were pretty good the first time I saw you
STUNNING. The gallery wall! The arch! You've got massive skills.
I, for one, have not seen enough basket lights yet. Yay! Basket lights!
The miroir almost look like a window, it's so beautiful !! 👌
I'd love to see you revising places you made over and see how they have changed. What remains, what needed to be added and so :)
This is, hands down, my favorite makeover
Andrea. That’s pure WOW. Gallery wall magnifique.
Side thought 💭 Who in their right mind would thumbs down this ?!!!??
Okay this one ia extremely pretty!
I was kinda underwhelmed with the prev makeover for Lindsay but this dining area is the opposite! It's so chic and colorful!
Holy smokes gurl. My FAV too date! This dinning area looks 4x bigger. U totally nailed it. That wall and green paint and black vase wow
🐼 Big Bear Hugs from a 67 yr old grandma in Kirby, Texas, USA 🐼
I love me a basket light. And the client does too. Basket light it is!!! Love the fringe jute rug AND the fringe on the sides rather than the ends!!
Me, when the clips of the space start: oo! A nice cooler color would be so nice with the varying levels of the wall and ceiling.
You: I chose a pinky peach, but I think a green would be better.
Me: yessssss!
The contrast if the warmth of her dining table and chairs with something cooler would be so lovely.
This is my favorite space you’ve done!! So simple and attainable for us “regular “ folks but such a statement!
Normally I do not care for gallery walls, but I actually really like this one! Esp like the highly textures table runner.
You did it again! Great job. Such an inviting space. Art wall with plants is a definite game changer!
Really great makeover - the perfect combo of warm, modern, fun, and yet somehow adult.
James is the unsung hero of this video tho
So cozy and warm. Love the color everywhere without being too much.
When you walk into a beautiful space and say “Alexandria has been here” you know you have arrived.
Love the effect of the mirror and the green on the wall.
I Love the basket lights! This dining room is absolutely Beautiful! Colors and style looks so fresh and unique!
BASKET LIGHTS ARE THE BEST
I LOVE THE ORIGINAL LIGHT
That table centerpiece is divine!
I LOVED the gallery wall, the color in the prints, those ring thingy, and the plant baskets all fabulous!! Even loved the ARCH with mirror 🪞. Everything is so beautiful 😻.
Alexandra, I so need you in my life!!!! Wish you can come over to Malaysia and make over my entire place!! It would be a dream come true! Love yr style so much! ❤️
Oh my goodness!! you have done another amazing makeover, I really love that olive arch it just adds that awesome pop of color without being too much and that mirror is the bomb! I also love those plants in those hanging baskets it brings that wonderful greenery touch that just finishes the space off just beautifully. I have so many plants in my home that I am constantly moving them around and arranging them differently and that is a lot of fun as well. My next big project will be to paint my living room and covering the old paneling and giving the room a beachy vibe with white paint which I am so excited to do. I already painted my bedroom and love it more and more everytime I walk into that room. Thanks so much Alexandra for another amazing video, sending love and hugs, bye for now.
Great job! I took a sip of tea each time you said "take a step backaroni" 🤣 Love the gallery wall and the incorporation of plants.
15:37 that vase be twitching like crazy tho
Watching at 10:35 pm from the Philippines ❤🇵🇭
Positive comment for the basket light!
I think this is one of my favorite makeovers of yours. I love the colors and the green. I love the arches, which are echoed in the shape of the basket light. I also like that particular basket light better than some of the others.
The wall baskets are on point!! This will be a unique addition to my rental apartment, thanks AG!
Truly a masterpiece! So visually stunning. Well done!
Oh wow, this has given me the inspiration I need to do my small dining area.
Basket light and airiness from all the art ,plants, and space is wonderful. The green and mirror shape is a portal. Works for me.
Very nice room. Glad you went with the green. Love that rug! Maybe a 6” wood shelf under the mirror with some cute little bowls and appetizer plates.... but really nice makeover!!
The green arch painting is upside down. Absolutely lovely otherwise. ✨🌟✨🌟✨🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💐🇵🇰
Omg omg omg the gallery wall? I can‘t. I‘m moving in, see you! 😂💗
So many comments right now... first, Audrey Hepburn is always a yes!
Then that math insert is so me every time I try to do math, lol. That Windsor Green is everything, I may use some in my bedroom. Another success Gater!!!
It’s beautiful 👍
I love that gallery wall! The plants really make it work.
Arch and mirror...just perfect!!!
Omg I am obsessed with that wall art😭❤
I love the painted arch with the mirror. I am always a fan of green! 💚
The gallery wall is amazing. Beautiful basket lamp.
Who’s out here hating on basket lights?! Basket lights are one of the few light fixtures I can actually stand!
The makeover is beautiful! I love how there was colour in the space, but it wasn’t overwhelming.
Love this, please do more dining rooms!
One word - BEAUTIFUL! 🥰
The green arch - Yes!
The plants on the gallery wall - Yes! Yes! Heck YES!
Charming, whimsical, yet your maturity in restraint is showing through ❤
SO GOOOOOD 🤩 Team AG, y’all are killing it even more than usual lately! And Alexandra is glowing in every video!
What a great transformation from top to bottom. Love the basket light, the accent wall, and the floral additions to the gallery wall. Just wow!
WOW! My absolute FAVORITE makeover you've done! The colors! The warmth! So beautiful!
