- After waiting 2 months I've finally received my 23zero rooftop tent so before doing a review video I wanted to show you how simple it is to install a rooftop tent yourself

We got the 23zero walkabout 62. The rails that bolt to the underside of the tent came installed but the instructions stated that I would need to install them. That was a surprise to me! I think we are going to love this addition to our camping!
I researched roof top tents for over 12 months before I decided on the 23Zero. I said I’d never get a roof top tent but got tired of getting muddy packing up swags or tents on the ground (99% chance of rain when I go camping lol). Having compared it to my partners Darche panorama, I’m happy I went with the 23zero. Their customer service is outstanding. It took a while to get here think I was waiting about 3 or 4 months. It’s been sitting here a couple of weeks now as I had to get set up to put it on (swapped my tray out back to a tub and put a tub rack on) which I’m currently working on finishing off. So fingers crossed the rtt will be on in the next couple of days - hence why I was watching your vid to check out how I needed to put it on 👍
Send me a pic once it's finished and I'll share it for you 😀👍
@@Campingdownunder cheers buddy I sure will!
We’ve recently purchased the 1800 Dakota from 23Zero and your install video certainly came in handy. Cheers
Glad to hear it helped you out. Enjoy your new rooftop tent 👍
I just picked up my 72 Walkabout Wasnt quite sure how the ladder was supposed to go but this video helped out loads. Super stoked to get this on and try it out. Thanks for posting. Cheers for Florida!
Glad to hear you found it helpful 👍
Nice upgrade, you did mention the holes in the corners, check just above them and you should find the cover flaps(mine were folded upwards and missed them on first look) , I thought the same thing when I first installed mine..
Thanks mate 👍
Nice upgrade there mate , looks great :)
Thank you 😀👍
Cool video, the rooftop tent looks great 👍
Cheers mate 👍 I'm so excited to finally have it 😀
@@Campingdownunder which model is that tent

loving the content thanks for putting your time to make videos for people to watch was wonder if u could do a campfire Q&A
I'd love to do a live Q&A. I just need to buy a webcam for my laptop so I can do it lol. But that's something I've really wanted to do 👍
@@Campingdownunder logitech has a wide range of web cams probs not the cheapest option but a good one. www.logitech.com/en-au/webcams?filters=3799
Cheers mate 👍
loving the content mate. I have investigated the 23 zero range and i wil get darche in my opinion.
I’m interested in both...why do you prefer the Darche?
@@ronanrogers4127 the designers of darche created 23 zero and now compete against them. when i saw both setups i was very impressed with the quality of the darche gear. thats my opinion. i highly recomend checking it out for your self. check the poles
@@anthony.grisan 23Zero offers more for less and LST is a game changer.
@@roybodin7301 fair enough! If i ever get a RTT ill be putting it on a trailer.
Amazing thanks
We bought a 23 zero roof top tent last year and we regret it ! We wish we went the darche instead
That's interesting. What went wrong with it?
@@Campingdownunder damage to underneath from ladder and also ladder was playing up and zips broke
Thanks for the heads up. I'll monitor mine closely and if I have any issues I'll be sure to let everyone know 👍
@@Campingdownunder in saying that they were happy to help send replacements but its annoying that it happen
Been out in it yet mate? We we're considering a Darche which looks to be the exact same thing just without the LST lining on the inside. Keen as to hear what you reckon after a few nights out in it.
Just slept in it last night and absolutely loved it 😍 yeah that's the biggest difference. But being able to sleep in this morning made it worth for me 👍
@@Campingdownunder excellent. Think we'll pull the trigger on one soonish. Lovin the ol luxy too mate.
Thanks mate 👍 she's old but gets me everywhere I need to go 🤙
@@Campingdownunder mine too
Just wondering what to do if your roof racks are in a different place to the rails of the roof tent? Thanks
It goes across your roof racks not at the same angle as them so you simply slide the bolts along the bottom of the frame until it lines up with your rooftop tent
Never heard anyone sook about kings this much! Gets old quick
kings is good for the price
It’s to just get people out there camping
If you actually watched my other videos you'll see I started out with everything king's. I don't diss anyone for starting out with king's gear. I still use some of their gear & collaborate with them. I just upgraded as I could afford it. I always tell people to buy what you can afford to get you out there rather than staying at home for the best of the best. I suggest you watch more of my content. I drive an 89 hilux. I'm about as grounded as they come lol
Can the holes in all 4 corners of the tent actually be covered to stop insects and etc from coming inside? Thanks.
They each have a canvas flat that folds over them but it's not 100% we've never had an issue with bugs but we don't have many lights on inside so we don't attract bugs
Hey mate just curious which side of the forby you set your roof top tent on? Is there a thought process behind it or is it more of a personal preference?
I originally had it open up at the rear as we used to attach the annex for the kids underneath. But they don't like coming out now so yesterday I turned it so it opens up to the right. The reason I chose the right is we have our awning on the left & we have our kitchen on the left hand side. So on the right it's out of the way
what model RTT was this thanks?
Dakota 1400
@@Campingdownunder sweet, thanks Ill get the same one. cheers
what is the the distance between the two rails?
Can't remember sorry. But it's limited to where the rails bolt to the bottom of the rooftop tent through pre existing holes. So each brand rooftop tent may vary
