- In this video, you will learn how to transfer files, pictures, and music from an Android smartphone such as a Pixel 3XL, Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, or Motorola Razr to your Windows PC using a USB cord. Many times wifi and bluetooth are just not reliable enough or fast enough to move large files off of your phone and on to your PC. This method allows you to free up valuable space on your phone and move large video, picture, and data files over to the larger hard drive on your PC for easy video editing and picture editing.

When I do it, it just charges the phone and the pc doesn't recongnise that something has been plugged in/ connected.
Does it transfer Text messages as well? Thanks
Great question! SMS Messages are a bit of a mystery to me. I don't know where they are stored on the device. I suppose you COULD transfer them, but I usually sync them to my google account (Messages) and transfer them over when getting a new phone or you could use Microsoft Phone Link. Again, great question. Thank you for watching.
Thanks for posting this video. I recently recorded some material and need to transfer the files.
What if the notification doesn't pop up on my pc or phone?
Look for the name of your device in "mon pc"
@@ACE060what are you saying

Thank you and God bless you.
You're very welcome! Thank you for watching. 😃
The computer doesnt recognize the Android. A second Android worked fine. There must be something with the settings of the Android. Any idea where/what to do? Thank you!
Did you figure it out? im having the same issue for months now
Mine stopped working too.
Still nothing huh
Thank you
You're welcome, I'm glad I could help!
Thank you!
1:52 didnt show up
Thanks! I just got a Samsung Galaxy A13 and was going nuts with transferring photos to my Acer desktop, Windows11. I didn't know if it would work as your vid is 2 yrs old but it did. Doesn't look exactly the same but close and I selected transfer images, and it showed up on my PC file folders. First time using this process. Cheers, Bob
I plug it in and no window comes up. I can't navigate to any feature that recognises fil transfers via USB on either the Android of the PC. The only thing easy about this process is that it doesn't seem to exist.
thank you for making it simple, but my pc does not see my android. when i plug it in nothing happens . i know i have paired them preveously to share my screen, but i am missing a step. i believe it is the right cable
Thank you so much! Gotta run now - Got files to transfer! Thanks again!
Simple and concise. No waffling. Thanks.
Yea, NONE of those options open up for me. 2:06 I switched the phone to File Transfer/Android Auto and STILL I can't find my phone on my PC or transfer files. Why do people like you KEEP LYING TO US?????
I have a Samsung S20FE, and I followed your steps to a tee, yet it won't recognize the pics I have in my DCIM photo folder. I can see them on my phone, but when I plug it to my pc, the DCIM folder shows it's empty. I'm obviously doing something wrong.
Thanks for sharing your video none the less.
I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems. My first guess would be that your phone is saving your pics and videos in a different location. Although rare, sometimes the path is inadvertantly changed. You can find the path by searching your files. I'll post a video today about how to find the pics of they are not in the DCIM folder. Great question!

I have a problem with my pc when i connect my android phone it wont read the devices, i dont know it its the desktop problem or the phone what could it be?
Great question. Sometimes it is the cord. Have you tried a different cord?
@@Myandybuck no but the cord is brand new
@@eleazaralvarez1472 before you go any further, try a different cord just to make sure. The next thing I would do is reboot your PC and your phone. Lastly, does your phone see the PC. In the notification section it should ask you how you want the phone to respond. Make sure you choose "Transfer files", I hope this helps.
@@Myandybuck yeah i tried another cord and it worked
@@eleazaralvarez1472 Awesome! Glad I could help! 😃
I got the device connected, found it as supposed to but when I open my pictures folder on phone it shows empty😮
Thank you so much...only bought a stupid phone so could take reasonably good pics of my Kitty...n bro of cos....it really was easy eh...hugssss😁
Thank you for the kind words!
Thank you so much this process had me stumped but you made it so easy with these instructions I kind of feel foolish that I didn't figure this out a long time ago lol.👍
Thank you for the kind words! You should never feel foolish for not knowing something. As long as you know where to find the answer, you are smarter than 90% of the population! 😁
saved my life!!!!!!! thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad I could help!
How do you solve the timeout problem? Due to the transferring of large files?
That's a great question. I have never run into that and I transfer 4k video files that are 20 min quite often.
Excellent presentation, thank you !
This saved me a TON of headaches !

@@Myandybuck You're welcome !

Thank-you very much
You're the best!
Good day sir..... can i use the same content to transfer photo from my phone to a tumb drive using my computer?
Great question! Absolutely. It will work the same way.
@@Myandybuck Thank you
How do you access a certain photo app? I have 3 on my phone. Google Photos, Amazon photos, and Samsung Gallery photos. I want to clean up the Google photos specifically. And I don’t know how to access them in my Samsung phone..
Thank you very much, This 2 year-old video still applies. Love the content!
Thank you for the kind words!
Where do I find audio files that are on the phone?
Great question! Usually they are in the internal storage in the folder marked music. I usually stream my music from Google drive. ua-cam.com/video/PwWG1CsrwqI/v-deo.htmlsi=AV3fnwXiw0aI4rUU
Worked - thanks!
Great! I'm glad I could help! Thanks for the comment!
Oh wow, he starts by explaining that A is a letter, and so is B, and that you have to connect the cable in the phone and computer for it to work , what a genius. I didn't know that, so now it all works for me.
So glad I could help!
This is what I was looking for. Thank you so much!
Thanks!
Didn't work. My Lenovo Legion Y520 doesn't recognize my Samsung A7 Tablet. USB settings on Tablet set.
Hmmmmm. I appreciate the comment, but it is hard to troubleshoot that without being there. I would reboot the pc and then plug the tablet back in. The PC should recognize that something has been plugged in.
Thanks , this was helpful
Thank you! This really helped!
thanks it help me a lot😊😊
What of movies
Great question! Certainly any file will transfer, even movies!
Why simple is not? Why changed?
The same as my pc lol
Thanks for the comment! It is a great laptop.
@@MyandybuckI've had mine for 5 years the battery's a bit bad but apart from that its fine
Ty❤
Tysm
YW!
Thank you.
I don't even have that "Android system" popping up, nor does my windows machine make the "I'm connected to something"-sound 😕
Hmmm. What kind of phone and laptop do you have? Have you tried shutting them both down and restarting them? Sometimes it is the cord. Believe it or not, sometimes they just go bad. I might try a different cord.
@@Myandybuck I have a galaxy a25 and a pc (not a laptop). I tried restarted and even reinstalling the phone too. It was a new cord, but I'll look for a new cord, I guess. It does charge fine. Thank you for responding too
@@daddyleon It sounds like your PC isn't recognizing when something is plugged in. You could also try a different USB port on your PC. Another thought would be that you could open File Explorer on your PC and scroll down on the left side. If you see your phone on the left hand tree, then go to your phone, pull down the drop down menu and change the setting for how the phone reacts as shown in the video. Then open the phone in file explorer and you should be all set!
@@MyandybuckIt worked with a different cable! May I ask though, do you know of a way to transfer the listening history of my apple podcasts to my new pocket cast? I did use an opml to transfer the subscriptions, but not that history. I could've added the podcasts myself too, but I really want that history. I can't really seem to find a way. I was hoping you might know?
@@daddyleon That is a great question and unfortunately I don't have an answer. I'm glad that you got the file transfer to work and I'm glad I could help.
