Sounds like a great idea! I hope to visit Nottingham and Greenwood Bonsai Studio and maybe meet Corin Tomlinson. Like the easy reggae music that plays when showing fast forwarded work on a tree.
I finally discovered that the KW Bonsai Society has a Facebook page. Now that I'm back on Facebook, I've gone ahead and "liked" the page so I can get information on upcoming meetings and the like.
Fabulous tree!🌳 I like the view at 33:05 very much. In this view you can see into the many trunks and there is much too see and much depth in the trunk. The root base with the long partly crossing roots in this view is also great in my opinion. The current front is great, too, but in another way. It is more like a wall.
Loved the videos for about 4 years now and this particular channel inspires me. I am attempting something barely heard of on You Tube. Im beginning a bonsai made from Pothos that I braided together. I havent seen any updates on the initial care, but im hoping to make a video or 20 about its progress. Once it roots, ill be filming updates of the pruning and growth.
Been binging your vids for the last 2 weeks, I really enjoy your content and love seeing the passion you have for the plants. Will start my own Bonsai journey in our Spring. You totally inspired me. Much love from South Africa❤️🇿🇦🇨🇦
Oh I didn't know Mr. Busch has books published in English, too. He's the owner of the bonsai nursery in my hometown! Last time I was there in spring and that time got myself my first little trident maple. It's a great nursery with many beautiful trees.
I deliberately put mantis ovae around my garden, and my pots. they are good at thoroughly eliminating other insects, like spiders, wasps, ants. they don't bite and look really cool too)))
Yes! I hope to visit Nottingham and Greenwood Bonsai Studio and Corin Tomlinson, too. Like his easy reggae music he plays when showing fast forwarded work on a tree.
Have you ever watched a channel called Weird Explorer? It is not actually weird, just a bit unusual. The channel is run by Jared Rydelek who tastes all different kinds of fruit. Sometimes he travels and finds interesting fruit or he orders them on the internet or looks around in markets or ethnic stores in New York. Then he makes videos about the fruit, reviews the taste and tells a little bit about the plants that produce these fruits. You should collaborate with him and get the seeds. He has already tasted very many fruit - the jackfruit among them. But it seems that there are soooo many different fruit and their varieties in this world. It is amazing.
Great video, the large root pruning you did definitely looked better afterward. Also, fun to see an idea for water retention being implemented using tin foil,i just might try that!
It's now jackfruit season in India........ Very delicious fruit. Seeds can be cooked with vegetables removing the thin seed cover it's also delicious. Raw jackfruit can be cook as a vegetable .......but it has to boil before cooking since it has some latex like substance.
I might need to try that tin foil trick this summer. I'm going away on a little vacation for 4 days. Might just wrap my trees hopefully they keep cool.
If you want to make pot covers/shades that will last longer, you should consider getting a roll of Mylar. It's sorta plasticy with foil like reflectivity. It's what they use on spacecraft for a similar purpose. It's also the same stuff they make "emergency blankets" out of.
I'm wondering if it's a good way to solve watering problems when going on holiday. Obviously not in summer, but I wonder how long they can last in cooler weather in the shade?
Hi! Would I be able to email you for some questions and advice about my bonsai? It's my first ever one that I bought the other day and I would love to know if there's anything I could or should be doing with it. Your video was so relaxing to watch too
Beginners advice: don't use bonsai pots if you don't have great overwintering options and you live north of Virginia. I've lost so many good trees in the Pennsylvania winter. This isn't Japan.
I love ❤️ ficus Friday thanks nigel 😊
Fancy s looking Fantastic. Can’t wait to have roots and a canopy like that!
Thanks Dave, you have a lot of great trees on the go, it will only take some time!!!
You will have to come over to the UK and visit Greenwood bonsai and herons bonsai then your fans over here can meet you ..
I second that. Come over the pond Nigel.
Oh yes! That would be great!
Yes, absolutely!!!!

Watching you rip out that root reminded me, I need to make an appointment for a dental cleaning.
Lol, I'm headed to the dentist soon too, I hope it doesn't go down like this video!!
My favourite single tree in your collection. Love it
Wow great prices.
Bonsai… the official art of letting perfect be the enemy of good
Always a good treat to see this tree. Great job Nigel.
Amazing how different every tree can be! So much to look at on this tree. It's fascinating.

You do beautiful work on ficus.
15:30 You should consider getting a pair of extra small curved cutters. I love mine which I got this spring
I'll keep my eyes out for them!! Thanks!!!
That 101 tips book is rlly good. First bonsai book I’ve read, and it’s a good travel read by of its size

The tree looks much smaller now that it is pruned back. It appeared much bigger when you sat next to it lol

Have you ever tried Jacaranda trees (do not think I have seen one on your channel).

Might I suggest an old white blanket on the floor for top down views for better visibility?
Seeing your tin-foil covered roots makes me think your plants are all conspiracy theorists afraid aliens are coming.
🤣👽
Nigel,l think you can use that roots you pruned as a cutting 🤔
won't the tin foil reflect the sun light and burn the lower leaves?
I might need to try that tin foil trick this summer. I'm going away on a little vacation for 4 days. Might just wrap my trees hopefully they keep cool.
Why did you choose don't use wire as a help to create harmony on the branches ???
Tree looks good after the pruning by the surgical hands of Dr. Saunders.
i am looking for a book about bugs and desis ea tree can get xD coz i my lemon tree is sick again.
